Lots of people here mention "bugs" but dont ever explain what exactly the bugs are. Any clarification?

I believe early on there was problems with the AI not pitting during a race, and various other cheaty things that made them impossible to beat. The puncture rate was way too high. Both of these have been patched to my knowledge.

If you pitted at the wrong time, particularly on shorter races, there was a huge chance that you could get trapped in your pit box for long periods of time by AI cars going past. That one still exists, but patches have improved from what it was. It's arguably not a bug as such anyway, just poor design. It functions as intended, it's just that the intended function is kind of dumb.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I've never had problems with any of them except the last, and that can be worked around with smart play. It sucks that you have to do so, but it's one of the more innocuous bugs that I've come across in the last few years.

I say get it for sure, this game is a riot. I know it has its problems, but the Career mode really is fun. It is the first time for me on most of these tracks, so using the practice session to really learn them is very satisfying.

The big difference for me, GT5 I feel like I am driving, F12010 I feel like I am RACING.
+1 on all you said.
Will NOT disappoint.
Love its on pc too which means...well...OWNAGE GRAPHICS.

The interesting thing about the graphics is how different they are from GT5. The super-sharp realism of GT5 shows up the flaws in the graphics more than the somewhat murkier, "atmospheric" look of F1 2010. They both look very good in their own way, but switching from one to the other takes some adjustment.

To me, the physics in F1 2010 seem overly simplified, & the FFB is just too light, but there's no question that offline racing in F1 2010 is more fun than it is in GT5.

I've just bought F1 2010 again after trading it in when GT5 came out, and have found (like I have with shift) that this game is a great racing game. A few flaws yes, but great AI and atmosphere, something GT5 sadly lacks.

Just had a quick blast round Spa and had a great fight with Kubica for 3 laps with me coming off worst. Left me with a big grin on my face to be able to race AI that seem clever and not scripted.

Should be getting it later/today...
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: do you win any "prize" cars like in F1:CE??

Not that I'm aware of. The cars are just the 2010 cars, and they're all open from the start.

I like the thing when you are running out of the track, the sand sticks too your tires... Wish GT5 had that.

Try driving your F10 into any gravel traps in GT5 - you'll be amazed.

Even on normal cars where you can't normally see that being graphically represented (they're not open wheels!), you'll instantly realise that your car feels much more slippery after you've come out of grass/gravel/dirt.

Finally I got it... F2010 is so good as I expect. I don't know how to share my free time between F2010 and GT5... my social life is over :D

Good choice 👍 Same problem. F1 or GT5? I play F1 league on line and in break back to GT5. In my opinion F1 2010 is more challenging then GT. After a 50% race I'm totally exhausted :scared: But I like it. No assist. I using DFGT.

Glad to hear I am not the only one physically exhausted after a long race. :)

I think it's normal. Almost 1 hour of full concentration, fighting with wheel, can be hard. In GT5 for example, after long race bored to death...

i love f2010 great game but tough to finish races.... i always did full races and hardest level only finished 3 races then i got GT5 and havent played any of my other 53 games :P

Haha so true. Racing in GT5 was just too boring so I have gone back to playing F1 2010 and I am on the edge of my seat the whole race, because even if you are in first place you need to concentrate 100% to avoid making a mistake.

It is quite a punishing game because even the slightest mistake can cost you a descent finishing position, but the challenge is what makes it so fun 👍

Just ordered my copy of the f1 2010 online after racing the Ferrari seasonals challenge on GT5 like a hundred times each, can't wait to play it.

exactly what happened to me. the seasonals got me addicted to the F1!

F1 2010 is much more immersive though - you will love it man

Just picked this up today

It's gonna take me a bit to learn some of these tracks! Yay for driving line lol

You said it. With the speed of F1, those corners come quick. When I was in my first season, I sucked midway thru it. I was a natural at Montreal but really didn't get in the zone until after Singapore. Now I am in my second season and I am a descent driver now. I score points in every race now. Most of the time I am on the podium.

Ya man I'm taking this first season slow, just learning all he tracks I wasn't familiar with prior to playing this game. Now that I'm almost through everything is getting a lot more fluid and the car is getting easier to drive

Definitely looking forward to upcoming seasons with a higher difficulty level :)
