Boxing Day shopping. Very happy. :)
NFS Hot Pursuit feels so much better to play on the DS4 than it did on the DS3 imo. Love it!

I have wanted this book for years and my wife managed to find me a copy for Christmas. Carroll Smith’s “Tune To Win”

First published in the ‘70s, this is seen as something of a bible amongst time attack people. Complete explanations of what happens to a car on the track, along with why and how to improve it.

It’s not for the faint of heart (it starts getting all... mathematical... around 12 pages in) but I’m enjoying the challenge and am starting to get a grip on the basics. Once I’ve finished the book, I hope to apply the knowledge to our 300c track car. :)

I wish we had wood floors instead of carpet. The dog hair never ends.
My entire basement is carpet as are the three bedrooms upstairs, and three rugs in the living room, dining room and kitchen. The Roomba doesn't have any trouble with them. My wife was impressed enough that we went and bought the second one for downstairs.

It took almost 6 hours to run through all the rooms in the basement (literally half that time was recharging twice before it headed back out). A few more runs and it will have learned the rooms well enough that I can start scheduling like I have done with the main floor. It went back to the charge base and emptied itself 9 times on this first run. :ill:

That is good to hear. We may have to pick one up. We do not vacuum nearly often enough and the shedding never seems to slow down.

There's bound to be some places or things that it can't get to or do well but all in all, it's been pretty darn good so far. We cut the bulldog's claws tonight so I had it vacuum the kitchen and it didn't do the greatest job but for everything else it's come across, I've been impressed.

And it "retrieved" 2 rolls of wrapping paper that I didn't know was under our bed.

The backlog collection grows.

One of my main focuses right now is to fill in the gaps for the Burnout series, as the only games I've played are Takedown and Paradise (though I'm sure some would argue those are the only ones you'd need to experience). So, I picked up the 'Cube ports of the first 2 games (odd they quit releasing for the system after that, but whatever) as well as Revenge for the PS2. In hindsight I think I should've gone with the 360 version to play it on my Xbone, but it's not much of an upgrade anyway. Think I'm only missing Dominator which I've heard isn't so great, so I'll probably hold off on it. Driving Emotion and Sonic Mega Collection came from a local game store as part of a trade-in I did with one of my extra Animal Crossing copies. I've only tried the former, and it's...okay, though I do like the arcade-like menu music. Smash Melee was a Christmas gift, and I'm looking forward to getting around to playing it.

Grabbed this stack of replacement jewel cases, plus a sealed CD, because I just figured out how to swap out inserts. They'll come in handy whenever I need to spruce up a PSX game that looks like cack (which is most of them. Seriously, why are these things made of such crap plastic?!).

Other odds and ends on the way:
  • PSX Mouse coming from Japan
  • NFS Porsche Unleashed (PSX)
  • NFS Underground 2 and Most Wanted (GCN)
  • True Crime Streets of LA (GCN)
  • Playstation Memory Card storage case X2, one each for my extra PSX and PS2 cards.
@Sprite, thanks for the suggestion 👍. Haven't touched Dark Souls/Bloodborne because they never really interested me, but one of my aims with collecting now is to go outside of my racing game comfort zone, so I'll give it a look.

New magazine from Japan. About Jazz Kissa’s caught up in the devastating The Great East Earthquake in 2011. (Accompanied by some listening material)

In case you want to look into it, it’s the Umage Silvia in Brass & Black.
Whenever I get my own place, I HAVE to get that brushed steel one. :embarrassed:

Thanks for the details on what it's actually called. I would have never found it lol.

. Is that lampshade upside down, first picture shows it other way up
The website for Umage shows it pointing down, so it looks like @Sprite is using it right, and whoever mounted it pointing up got it wrong. EDIT: looking at it again, the ceiling-suspended and tripod-mounted lamps face down. The table lamp version points up.
