If that's your first OLED you are oh so in for a treat, once you have one you won't consider going to LCD again.

Just purchased a Nikon Z7II for my wife to replace her D7100. I am blown away between the quality difference between her D7100 vs the Z7II. Next, looking at some of the S Lenses but may have to mortgage the house first.
Nice, I've been out of the photography hobby for a little bit but had a look at one of these in store the other day and it's something I'm cosidering/

@Shaun its my own personal first OLED. However my old man purchased a 55”C8 at release a few years back so I’ve had chance to watch films etc in 4K and with the superior contrast OLED gives.

However I did consider another LCD. The Sony Z9J. I couldn’t justify twice the cost of the OLED. I’m really looking forward to watching some films over the festive period. I think the size upgrade compared to my current 46” Sony is going to have more impact than the tech, 4K & HDR.

That is a huge leap!! Congratulations! May I also suggest looking into vintage lenses (M39, M42, E-mounts, etc)? They're definitely worth it, IMO on a full frame like that.

Thanks, yes it is a huge leap. We did a family photo session the other day for some friends. I used the D7100 as backup and my wife (of course) used the Z7II. When we loaded the pictures up when we got back home, there was no comparison. It was like going from AM radio to CD quality. It was hard to take a bad picture. It was fast, super clear and twice the resolution helped. For snow shots where everything was white, the camera did fantastic capturing all the color and details without washing out. 👍🏼

They jumped up to $230 today.
Nice save!! I've found Amazon to be good on that front. I bought my medical textbooks the day a price hike happened and they issued me a refund for the difference. Wasn't too bad of a markup but still a pleasant surprise.

I finally pulled the trigger on a pre built rig. After weeks of searching for a good 8020 supplier that wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg for my 8020 design (by parts not as a whole) I thought screw it and just bought a pre built.

I didn't want to risk the sale ending, so I just bought it. Now I have to source a car seat (not a bucket seat).

The other option was the Advanced Racing ASR6 made by a local Quebec company not too far away however their product is just over $1k without a seat, and if you include shipping and taxes it goes up to $1400.

I got the Omega Prime for $693 with their discount code on top which essentially saved me the taxes. Shipping was free.

Now having set up the new TV and soundbar (see Home Cinema Thread) I thought it best to add some more 4k discs to the collection. (I say 4K but quite a few are not true 4K and are 2K DI upscales... but I digress)

We already have quite a few of these on DVD & Bluray too so I'll need to do a clear out to friends and family once they arrive.

The Fifth Element
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Patriot
Sicario 2
The Matrix Trilogy
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Goonies
Avengers 4 film set - Technically free as work Christmas bonus was a £50 voucher for Amazon.

Since I... destroyed my nearly 8 year old ATH-M50x in a bit of a fit by throwing them at the wall... I need to replace them. The M50x had just been repaired and re soldered by me. Oh well. They got their usage, I just hope I don't get that angry again.

The good thing about Beyerdynamic is that they're nearly indestructible, and the parts to repair them are sold by Beyerdynamic directly from their store. This is German product design at its best. I wish Audio Technica didn't make it such a mysterious task for repairing products.

May I suggest anger management therapy as you next purchase? Lol
I’ve had a few of those lol, I can’t remember the last time I’ve intentionally broken something out of anger.

Honestly, it just had to do with family and Thanksgiving, something I’ve never had a problem with until now.

If you’re curious, I got mistreated and screamed at by family while driving just after spending a huge amount of money on their Christmas gifts. A day after that, I MLB pitched the headphones into the wall after thinking about things, packed everything up and flew to NYC for a break.

Sucks because I’m mostly a cool headed person, but all it takes is a bad time with family to throw you off.

It’s a much needed break, but much more expensive than anger management classes :sly::indiff:

I love my 880 editions. Great sound!

Ah, yes... The 7-hour upgrade process after unboxing, to be repeated with each game installation. You'll be actually playing sometime in February!!!

Pre-ordered this shirt.

Love that they included the Echidna on it.
Oh well. Promised myself that I wouldn't spend anymore money after this but that's lasted just over 24hrs. Ended up pre-ordering the 1:18 model of the Bathurst winning car as well.

Saved close to $40 on it thanks to my 15% off membership discount. :) Someone please take my wallet away from me though...

You'll be waiting about 18 months for it.

Probably. It says Q4 2022 but I'd be surprised if it comes out by then. Noticed on the Biante site that last year's Bathurst car still hasn't been released.

I'm happy to wait though. :)

I was going to buy an Oculus for this years X-Mas purchase for myself, but I decided to hold off until I can beef up my computer a little. So on that note I decided to feed my flag addiction instead!

Also got a Castroneves jersey t-shirt.

So that was a bust.

Bought an XL-RS seat.

and some leveling casters. I'll start with 4 and see how the rig feels. If there is play or flex I'll buy another pack of 4.

Casters.png

I need to enlarge the holes so the bolts that correspond to the T-nuts can fit onto the plate. With the design of the rig, only 3 out of 4 holes will be bolted down. Reason I need the casters is because my basement is not finished yet, so the rig resides next to the TV in the mezzanine.

I'll need to roll it to and fro whenever I need to play and pack it up again until I get my basement sorted.

Room layout; 85" TV for reference, in this room looks like a 65" set. We sit about 12' from the TV, so this room is more of a home theater projector room... but we'll get there eventually.

Was able to find a Women's Mavrik Max driver new with wrapper still on for $150. So that's $500 off because it's got a little ladies shaft on it. So I just bought a proper Men's shaft, lol. I've begun the process of club fitting via retail arbitrage. Was messing around on Facebook Marketplace and just happened to find this thing in SR flex. Initially I thought it was cheap because it was for seniors, but actually with Graphite Design it's midway between regular and stiff which is actually perfect for me. I'm hoping it gets rid of a lot of my push/fade off the tee because my driver now has a shaft that's way too stiff for my swing speeds right now.

And speaking of senior flex, I found a sweet VA Drago for my fairway wood.
