Gonna be a (hopefully) fun weekend putting it together.
Congratulations!!

For the love of God build it on a bench, not on the floor. Your knees and back will thank you later.

So.. looks like I'm out of commission until February :/

If my warranty is up and I cant get a replacement, then I'll have to buy a new wheel. But either way, warranty or not, a replacement wheel is not happening until February at the earliest.

I was thinking of getting this one with the quick adapter as well.

Ouch, can super glue and some duct tape fix it? Alternatively some carbon fibre and resin plus a good sanding?

Some good glue, and one of these.

Can't use glue of any kind because it's a slotted design to allow for tightening, not one piece. If I use glue, it will just snap off again because it won't allow the part to flex.

The clamp is a good idea however it can't hold the force of the shaft rotating and the steering wheel will just wiggle and feel sloppy. I'll easily break a pin that way.

Their support offered to either send me a replacement backing for my wheel, or the option to have it repaired at their workshop. I'm leaning towards the first option.

Went to a travel agency here in São Paulo and bought some plane tickets and 4 nights in Foz do Iguaçu.

Also bought some T-shirts, a cap and a pair of flipflops at Havaianas and 4 T-shirts from Hering, a Brazilian clothing store (all made in Brazil).

Against my better judgment, I've ordered an RTX 3080 Ti at well above the make-believe MSRP. Financed, which takes a bit of the immediate sting off... though maybe GPU prices will plummet in a few months and I'll be stuck overpaying, which would definitely suck. I think that's somewhat unlikely though, so I'm willing to risk it.

Plus my new year's resolution is to really sink my teeth into doing some animation work with Blender, so that's how I'll justify this purchase to myself.

Behold, the best chips ever, at least from what my memory tells me.

Back when I lived near my college, I would get these often.

For some reason, they’re not sold in the Midwest much, so I resorted to ordering 3 big bags from Amazon.

From what I remember, these are hot, but have that little sweetness from Tapatio hot sauce. My favorites.

e: after reading Amazon reviews, it turns out a lot of customers got bags that burst open during shipping. We will be waiting patiently :nervous:

Nice camera now Let's see pictures from camera📸
Thanks, I haven't taken any proper pictures with the new lens yet. However, if you still want to see some of my photos, you can visit my website if you'd like.
It's nblkrvisuals.com 👍

:D

I'm really wanting to go to Nurburgring to take some photos. The 24hr falls at a bad time, but I might be able to make it there and do a project using film.

Do you go there often?
Nice picture reference 😉
The lens is massive. In its size and its weight as well, though I did not measure or weigh it. I reckon, at full zoom the length is about 50 cm (including the camera) and at no zoom it's about 40 cm. Regarding its weight, I reckon it's roughly about 2 kg.

Oh, and I usually go there once or twice per year at least. Maybe even more this year, depending on how Covid goeas along here.

Checked out your website, Nice pictures I liked how in the people photos the sharpness of the person and the fading of the background objects when needed. Saved your home page looking forward to seeing more pictures.

A stationary spinner bike. I hate them but due to the winter weather in combination with covid restrictions I'm doing nothing but sit in front of the computer. I DO weight lifting 10 hours / week but its just not enough to counter the extreme lack of movement, and you can't do heavy lifting without doing some cardio. I'm planning on doing either one hard 30 minute stint or two sets of hard 20 minutes (morning & afternoon) every single day just to get the blood flowing.

This is it, nothing fancy, it just needs to work.

PLEASE don't rip the handlebars off!

I ordered 4 of these,

seagate_st10000vn0008_10tb_ironwolf_35_sata3_nas_hard_drive_ac25047_4.jpg

Was going to get the 8TB versions which were about $40 cheaper, but the store did not have them in stock.
Sure 6TB would've lasted me for a few years as well,

But I just cant say no to more data storage.

Will have 30TB of storage in my NAS by next week.

Have hard drive prices finally normalized?

These were on sale.
$365 each instead of $465.
10TB HDDs were never all that cheap, especially NAS based ones.
It may take him some time to respond he's only got one leg and one arm left!
Actually its both arms.
I'm using chopsticks to type.

They used do be half that for 10TB. 18TB capped out at $450, maybe $500 for WD Golds. This is some Grade A, fresh bull🤬

Also kudos on the High Noon reference. Love that movie.

I'm told this is supposed to change my life when drizzled on pizza and/or chicken. We'll find out when it shows up on Tuesday.
I genuinely thought it was some hipster water bottle you were gonna take with you to the gym (new year, new me)

Another grinder... because I'm lazy and don't like switching out blades all the time, plus this is 4'' rather than my other two 3''(One has a diamond blade, one has a grinding disc, and this new one is strictly for cutting).
Reciprocating saw for my home reno's because it goes places a hacksaw just can't get to.
Leaf blower because my other new purchase won't sweep itself. It came with the fast charger and two 18v 5A.h batteries so that was a bonus.

😮 Gonna need a bigger blower
Nah, does the job in a couple of minutes. 👍 It'll be great when the approximately 50sq.m of paving goes in next to it as well (to the left in the top spoiler picture).

It will take longer once the shelving, workbenches and all the other odds and sods go in there but I plan to make that fairly easy going by using weighted heavy duty curtains to separate that section. Hopefully this idea will work 🤞
