Not exactly new, as I got it during Prime Day(s), but I finally picked up a Storage Expansion Card for my Series X.

With Forza, The Crew Motorfest and Armored Core 6 on the horizon, I figured it was finally time to reluctantly bite the bullet.

And the 3 newest additions to my game collection:

I've had a set of those for years, quality tool and I'm sure they will serve you well. 👍
Sounds good! I didn't want to cheap out since its crucial that the readings are accurate to a tenth of a millimeter, something I don't trust Chinese caliper manufacturers to pull off. I saw even better ones from Mitutoyo but I cannot bring myself to spend 150 bucks on a measuring device. :embarrassed:

Mitutoyo is top quality, right up there with Starrett. Why not a dial caliper though? No digital (no battery) and easier to read than a vernier.
I'd totally prefer a dial over a vernier, but the bad news is they cost 160+ bucks around here.

The local plant shop is having a half price sale, so I got this bird of paradise worth £2 for £4 instead of £8! Bargain. It's a gift for my partner as she's just started work again and I think she needs a little lift. A bigger lift than this plant represents, but it's better than nothing.

This blue smear is our new pet. Siamese fighting fish. Of course, there’s only one, because they annihilate each other when not alone.

He was collected last weekend but it’s taken me all week to get a good photo. As you can see, I haven’t totally succeeded in that yet.

Looks like you need to make a solid background of white/black ,as the door in the background is doing some trippy reflections in the water

I’ve never been much good at photography. I must have taken about 15 photos before I decided I couldn’t be bothered any more.

Couple more toolbox additions and a rag.

From left to right:

Motivx 64mm oil filter wrench - I saw this particular tool brought up in multiple Toyota forums as a solid option for an oil filter wrench, so I went with it. The design is advertised as being more gentle on Toyota filter housings since the plastic versions can crack if you go ape on the torque, but I was attracted mostly by the fact that it's US made and how sweet the anodized red nut at the middle looks. I'm excited to see how it performs once it comes time do my first oil change on the Lexus.

Ko-ken Z-EAL ratchet - What good is the filter wrench without a tool to turn it? I saw some positive reviews on Ko-ken's ratchets, and for the price on Amazon this one seemed like a good deal as a "starter" ratchet for general use; the 3/8" drive and 72-tooth mechanism should be plenty for my purposes. Felt pretty smooth messing with it earlier, but I'll have to see how it performs in real use. Next step is to get a set of sockets to match, but not in a huge rush since there's nothing pressing to use it on right now.

The Rag Company Liquid8r - One of the main issues I've been having with washing my car at home is proper drying. All the towels I've used previously haven't done well and tended to leave water spots, so I decided to give this brand a try after seeing recommendations online.

Have to say I'm mighty impressed with it. I won't regurgitate all of the marketing bullet points, but this thing seriously sucks up water; I was able to do the entirety of my car on a single towel without any issue. I'll definitely be considering some companion rags from the same brand for smaller pieces, and I'd highly recommend it if anyone's looking for a good detailing towel.

Thanks to another big load of overtime, I had another good paycheck. So I figured it’s time to replace my iPad Mini. My old one only had 32GB, and was so old it could only run iOS 12 (the current OS is 16). My new one has 256GB, and although it doesn’t show well in the photos, it has a purple back. I included a photo of it together with my full-sized iPad. Next up is replacing my cell phone. I currently have a Motorola Moto G Pure which I don’t much care for. I will replace it with an iPhone, my first since my iPhone 7 broke several years ago. I’m waiting until after the new models are announced this fall.

I bought a Brook Wingman so I can use my Elite 2 controller on my XBox 360. I'm sick of crappy Ni-MH batteries lasting 10 minutes. Plus I have extra long thumbsticks with extenders on my E2.

I've been playing FM2 + FM4 today and it gives much better control. Haven't tried plugging my G923 into it but I doubt it will work.

Tune in next week for another exciting episode of Populuxe's "New Comic Book Wednesday"

Can't really dispute the value I've gotten from Corel X3 which is OLD now, and hasn't worked properly since Windows 7... so...

Thought I'd pick up the new version. Subscription only for now, but I hate the subscription model so I'll probably buy it when I've get less pressing engine rebuilds to pay for.

Inkscape is considerably cheaper, i.e. free, but ... honestly, I just like the way it writes SVG, and it's familiar.
