Already did that a year ago. It will be a while before blow any kind of stack...thank you.

Although, I have been looking at the 6 core processors, new graphic's cards, and motherboards for a slight upgrade to my current system. :D

Intel or AMD?

Looks like everyone here is peer-pressuring everyone else to blow their stacks on computer stuff. :lol:

I almost pulled the trigger on a new PC a few weeks ago myself. Came up with a awesome blue rig, compared to T-12 black one. However, I held off because there are no motherboards that will do Envidia with the new 6 core 1090T AMD chip and SATA III-6gb/s with USB3.0. They're not out yet.

FoolKiller

I can only take guesses as to what happened here, but I have had Gamefly for years now and think I know what happened. A game that new will not be available to buy used unless you do it as a "Keep It," which is only available when you are currently renting the game. And I believe free shipping for members is only available on used purchases. The only other thing I can think of is that you were somehow logged out and didn't realize it.

Problem was, I can 'keep it' if they never bloody send it to me! Waited two weeks, yet they didn't have enough to send me one. Though, they had enough to sell me one, the bastards. Yes, I guess free shipping is for used games only. Stupid, if you ask me and a bad deal, for me. I live just 23 miles from their mailing center. $6 for 23 miles = ripoff. Oh, and I was logged in, because I went looking for any coupons or codes I had stored. Nada. I used them all, already.

I have had a few issues with Gamefly over the years as they appear to have problems keeping up with their growth. I can easily see why someone might have problems with them and want to cancel. The service needs tweaking a bit, but I stick with them because I love being able to play a through a game and then sending it back when I realize that I won't play it again.

Problem is, for the past 5 months, my games have been taking forever to get to me. It wasn't like that in the beginning. People claim once you've been with them a year, you get placed to the 'back list' for games, while newer members are on the 'top list.' I don't appreciate that much. I also cancelled because there are no games I want for the next few months. I might as well quit, wait six months or so, and rejoin. Then, quit again.

1366 is Intel's server socket, so it won't be going anywhere soon and will be good for workstation kind of stuff for a long time. That's the rationale behind my purchase anyway. I'll get a 6 core in the future should I ever need it.

Which is the reason I blew a fair amount of money on a system the moment the 1366's came out (X58) in december 2008 IIRC and have had a i7 920 since. Still has hardly been left behind for a system thats 1.5 years old. I am happy.

Yes, Intel. I am really happy with my 965 i7 processor but being able to stay with the same chipset with a 6 core has some appeal to it, although, I really have no speed issues at this time and should really stay away from google for the time being. :)

Now I remember. That would be a pricey upgrade. :scared:

I got a new game on its launch day once, Tiger woods '07 for the Wii. I selected Keep It immediately and got $10 off. But just the once.

I think it works better for people like me because I get busy watching certain TV shows from September to May and seem to find myself wishing I had some extra free time. So by the time the summer drought comes around I have a massive backlog of games that most people have already played and sent back.

Personally I think that before they build any more shipping centers they need to focus on keeping their game supplies as high as Netflix does their movies. I get it that they can sell two year old games off, but limiting supplies early on just means less happy customers and more unhappy people like me, that want to buy a few titles used a year or two later.

The biggest deterrent at this point is not wanting to get my plumber tools out (again) to tackle this beast:

Just realized my CPU and Mobo were mismatched. :lol:

I've just replaced it with the i7-860, replaced W7 Ultimate with Professional, and I got rid of the Tuniq Tower.

Pako, nice Cosmo. 👍 What CPU block are you using, an Apogee GTX?

Using the Apogee GTZ if memory serves me correctly.

Found my old build thread here:
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=313782&highlight=Pako

Here are the hardware specs:
What the final system will consist of is:

* Asus Rampage II mobo
* 965EE
* Corsair 1833 2x3gb Dominator Ram w/ fan.
* PC Power and Cooling 1200w Single 12v Rail PSU
* BFG GTX280 [Tri-SLI]
* 2x150g Raptor Drive SATA Raid0
* 500g WD storage Drive SATA
* Optical Drive
* Cosmos Customized Case
* Simple Fan controller for Rad's

Loop 1 - 120.3 Swiftech Rad + MCP355 with Acrylic Top. 1/2" Fittings for Graphics Cards.

Loop 2 - 120.3 Swiftech Rad + Swiftech GTZ block w/ Adapter, Koolance NB/SB block, MCP355 with Acrylic top. 1/2" Fittings

Really, the only addition to this build is some external peripherials and a 80gb Intel SS drive with W7 for my gaming OS. Everything else is on my Vista Raid.

Shame they're both 3 seasons old :sly:

TKM is good for gems like that though.

3 seasons old yeah but 3 times chaper than the new ones:D And not tooo much different. They did have the Ford WRC one too

Picked up a SLIK 300DX. Very agreeably priced compared to the manfrottos and I was surprised at it's sturdiness. Only really needed it for one job so I didn't want to spend too much.

Hahha me too, dec 2008, i7 920 , gtx280. And still running like cold on a big nose.

Good to know 1366 won't be abondoned soon:tup:

This year, I've replaced both my blister inducing ice skates from high school, and my foot crushing inline skates. Just ordered these Missions online today and can't wait to get out there on the rink and use them.

Exactly. Now with the 6 core processors on the 1366 chipset, even extended longevity is secured.

Even though I'm putting together a new system, my Q6600 (as well as the rest of my current setup) breezes through every game I have; I can play Crysis at 1080p and still get 30-40+ fps.

It's too hot for the overclock though, so everything (bar the GPU) is running stock....come to think of it I haven't even attempted to see if the DK can put up with 3.96GHz.

For sure. I have a Q9550 system that I updated and setup for my wife, hand me downs if you will, when I built my i7 machine. It's still rock solid and dubs as a second gaming rig when my wife isn't using it for facebook.

👍

Which Missions are those? I'm considering picking up a pair of inlines since I don't get the ice time I want in the summer. I'll probably end up going with Bauers though since that's what my hockey skates are. Or I might just grap a pair of chassis for my old hockey skates and convert them to inlines.

http://www.hockeygiant.com/misprtvsisktsr.html

I got them there. They are proto VSIs. They have proto V for 70 dollars and the Proto VS for 90 as well.

If you're just tooling around the Proto V would be more than sufficient, and 70 dollars is an absolute steal for a really good pair of skates. Keep in mind that most inlines are sized 1.5 sizes smaller, but any Mission from 2009 or earlier are sized the same as your shoe size.

Hockey giant absolutely owns for clearance hockey equipment.
