Well, despite having been able to fix my YLOD PS3 which I've had for three and a half years, what with the recently released new 2101A model PS3 with the 40nm GPU, and a nicely priced bundle at Costco, I decided it was time to add an additional PS3 to the family:

And a couple new games:

I was very surprised at the quality of the deck of cards that Walmart was giving away as a promo for Red Dead Redemption, and they are in fact identical to the cards in the game:

Costco also had a great sale on Disney and Pixar Blu-ray +DVD movies ($15 each), so I picked up a couple that I hadn't gotten already:

I also picked up a Hauppauge HD PVR from New Egg which had it on sale for only $180 with free shipping:

I'm planning on using it to start making some HD videos from the PS3 as well as make copies of HD programs I have recorded on one of our DVRs that is malfunctioning, as Time Warner will not transfer programs from one DVR to another.

I also went on a small spending spree on Monoprice.com although the great thing about Monoprice is that it's all so inexpensive. I got all of the following (7-port & 4-port USB Expansion Hubs, 2x TOSLINK cables, and two USB extension cables) - all for under $30 with shipping. 👍

That's not bad...I think I'll pick one of those up; not only will I be able to record some of my gameplay, but it'll also save me the money of having to upgrade to an HD DVR.

I found that any device that uses USB to record replays leaves a lot to be desired and the dropped frame rates are ridiculous. If you have an extra PCI slot in your computer (and some extra $$$), maybe consider what I found here. But, for the simplicity and overall price a device like that is great. I'm sure you will enjoy it

Here are a few comics I picked up this week. Most importantly is the first full appearance of Venom in a 9.8; the prize comic in my pursuit to obtain every Venom comic book appearance (US runs only and in single comic book issues - no trades or hardcovers since those are reprints) printed. My list can be found here if interested :) I'm down to about 60 appearances left and have accumulated just under 600 the past 15 years 👍

I've also just received a Transformers #1 9.8, Spawn #1 9.8 and First Appearance of Hellboy (Next Men #21) in a 9.6...pics coming soon.

I've never ridden a four stroke dirt bike.

I've only ridden four strokes, much low end torque to be had. Sound mean too.

I've been planning to get a watch, I want a Tag F1 Chronograph still, but the price was right to pull the trigger on this last night.

Nixon Tide Rover SS

Has a lot of heft to it, looks very good too. The only thing it could do with is a light, but I suppose glowing works. It keeps track of the tide and moon phase, which is a bonus if you fish or surf. Overall I'm quite happy with it.

Not really a purchase, but birthday presents from my wife and daughter.

Just one copy of GOW3, but I wanted to show both sides of the stein.

Three-day Gold MotoGP ticket at Vale: £100.

Spent waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money on one of these. But hey, World Cup only comes around every 4 years and it's awesome.

Ralph Lauren Limited Edition World Cup Polo.

Though mine says "Australia" on the back.

My router finally pissed me off for the last time so...

(1) Linksys WRT54GL

and (3) ENERMAX UC-8EB for my entertainment center

Went and picked up the wife's new car today (Mazda Demio). Compared to the MPV she's been driving up 'til now this thing is so tiny and easy to drive. Goes anywhere!

My latest acquisition: A 2010 Liquid Force Trip 142 wakeboard with Index bindings. I'm getting ready to take it out for the first time here in a little bit. Also got a new handle and rope, but those are still in transit.
