Hopefully you have better luck than I did with Cat boots. The inner-lining on the back wore away after only a couple months and it hurt like hell.
The irony in that is that my dad and brother have both used CATs for ever (especially my dad- he works maintenance at the local chemical plant) and neither had issues with theirs. My dad gets 3-5 years out of his. Even I don't really have issues with mine (I don't use steel toe boots and they both do). But when my dad tried another brand of boots (Wolverine), they wore out within a month.

Wolverine
I had to look back in this thread to see when I bought them (December 2014) but my Wolverines are doing alright. The toes are pretty beat up but they're still comfortable. I have a tendency for my work shoes to last about a year and a half so the Wolverines are doing well in that regard, especially compared to the Dewalts.

Two tickets to see Tony Kofi and his current band. They're playing at my local Jazz Club and currently touring with an homage to Ornette Coleman.

Do you know somthing we don't or is this for the commute to work on a push bike?

I served in the NBC corps so I know the possible dangers. Also, I've been having unusual terrible recurring dreams.

I'm not a superstitious person nor am I crazy to believe in dreams but there are a lot of legit what-if's that justify that purchase.
Bottom line is, if it puts my mind a bit at ease its money well spent. ;)

I think Michael has prepper fever.
LOL. No, I'm not a prepper. I have food & water that lasts me a week or two and some guns and ammo, thats about it.

Two people I know though have spent more than 100-300k on food and essentials, one guy even built himself a bomb-proof fallout shelter and a warehouse for his stuff. Including anti-fallout equipment that would make the best NBC unit envious.

If you think the US has some mad preppers running around don't even think about coming to Austria.

I've been budget prepping for years now, I don't really hoard gear but I do make sure I have ways to purify water, catch food and a safe place in case one of many disasters hits where I live.

In case a nuclear disaster happens though you need a water storage for 3-4 weeks. Thats -depending on the weather conditions- how long it takes to the radioactive particles to start ''settle'' into the ground and when you can leave your house to evacuate.
Buy bottled water, its cheap and lasts. 👍

And I have a jar of honey.

Isn't it suppose to be "a jar with honey" instead of "a jar of honey"?

Luckily I don't much fear nuclear war in Thailand and we also have underground reservoirs for fresh water, but there are certainly a lot of natural disasters and civil unrest there.

Maybe we need a survivalist thread. 💡

They did seem comfortable

When they were in one piece mine were rather comfortable as well. I was actually tempted to try another pair of Cats but Famous Footwear was having a sale so I went with Wolverine's instead.

I will mainly use them for clearing snow and yard work, so I won't be a heavy user or using them every day. If I get 5+ years out of them I'll be happy. Thanks for the warning though.👍

Admittedly my boots gets abused as I work in a trade (HVAC).

Just to add another layer of irony, I replaced my Cat boots with Wolverines and they've held up rather well thus far (about a month).

Do these go on top of the ones you bought last week?

Was it really las–no, it couldn't have been. Anyhoo, these were supposed to go on the 9500's but I ended up slapping them on the NVX because I hadn't ordered the adapters.

Now, there's no way I'm taking them off of them because I like the subtle changes too much, thus the new pair. At least it isn't a new pair of headphones, right?

EDIT: Holy hell. It was last week! I... I need to consult a help group.

My current pair are from Thom Mcan, and I've had them for as long as I remember, 15+ years. It doesn't appear that they are around anymore, or at least not making work boots (I have see some new dress shoes etc. from them) or else I would get that brand again. If the CATs last half as long as they did for my purposes I will be more than happy.

Add a jar of pickles and your demise will be bittersweet.
Actually, honey is the only food that I know of that is edible even after 100 years (probably much longer). That's why I said that.

Today, I bought a Red Cross First Aid book with DVD.

The Duke was $2 and this mini-fridge was $50 at goodwill and I couldn't pass these two up. Cleaned both of them and the mini fridge works like a charm and I haven't tried the Duke yet but both were dirty

Nice cars bro.
