SHOW & SHINE -

NO COMP, JUST FUN!

Share with us your finished liveries, ask for feedback, suggestions and ideas.

If you have a reason or story behind why you chose it or what your goal was, share that too! As a community we should feel free to express our individuality and identity this way.

Only positive advice welcome, in the end it’s personal choice how others display their designs and if people want feedback or suggestions they will ask, I’m sure there are a lot of mentors that can guide others starting out, who want to learn the art behind it all and get the most out of the editor.

I hope to see some unique, creative and innovative designs here, thanks in advance.

‘Stellar Mecha’

Tuned by: @shaunm80

This concept was based on a combination of NFS / Midnight Run dark blue and turquoise colour accent colour scheme on an original Nissan white pearl base.

The purpose of this design was to give the car an overall glow effect during dark or night races.

This is the first in a set of Nissan livery designs, the next being an early Silvia.

I tried to get sponsors that matched the early JDM era, the dragon feature on the rear will be a continuous theme throughout my main throwback Nissan collection.

I chose to use a fine lightning bolt to break up the dark blue. It took a while to get it how I wanted it overall but the results look amazing on track in all lighting conditions, tunnels are were it really glows.

Happy to share any ideas about the Nissan series or one off livery designs. Stay tuned for the Silvia, stay toasty!

‘Cinder’

#2 in my Nissan series, the concept was to continue the rear dragon feature that started with the R32. This time going all out on the styling to create a design that could easily fit as a magazine cover with a bright orange base colour and a black tread pattern across the bonnet and front fenders.
IMG_0199.jpeg

The ECU chip overlay on the doors is a lot more noticeable than the one on the R32, I wanted it to be seen clearly and seem as if it was integrated into the paintwork.

I intended to create a real head-turner no matter if it was bombing around on the track or just sitting still, looking pretty.

IMG_0193.jpeg

I had a lot of fun picking the sponsor set for this one and wanted something unique, all the decals were done after selecting the body kit, the aero and rims which tied it all together nicely.

IMG_0188.jpeg

Can’t beat the glowing breaks and yellow headlights, during night runs … not to mention the turbo lag during peel outs on the corner exits to set it off right.

Can’t wait to start on #3, I have a few ideas such as the 180SX but it’ll probably reveal itself when browsing the garage.

Had to drop a low booty shot with that cannon!

‘Brimstone’

#3 in my Nissan series, the concept this time was to continue the rear dragon feature as before but limit the overall palette to a monotone colour scheme. Firstly the base is a gunmetal grey carbon with black, metallic light grey and white highlights.

IMG_0554.jpeg

I set out to create a dark entity, every angle revealing a different detail and in a range of lighting, I am yet to see it in a night race scenario and will most likely update this post with some more eye candy.

Decided to get a lot more side and rear shots than in the previous series to give ‘Brimstone’ a worthy showing.

My favourite shots are from the chase and lead cams and the track was wet and the sky was moody and grey which suited it well.

‘Draco Mecha’

Finally! This is #4 in the throwback Nissan series, the concept is based on a Dragon.
There is a black overlay with vivid lime detail on an original Nissan Jade metallic light green.

I intended to create a build up of layers and fades to accent the paint job.

IMG_0573.jpeg

IMG_0568.jpeg

IMG_0572.jpeg

The paint gives off some satin in different light conditions.

IMG_0569.jpeg

IMG_0566.jpeg

The signature dragon feature from this series is a subtle mint green instead of the lime or fluorescent greens in some of the stickers which was too bright and would have detracted from the Nissan base colour.

All the GT-R badging on the side is colour coded, thanks to the kind soul who put these in!

IMG_0567.jpeg

I had a lot of fun doing the windows on this and decided to tone the green back to mint also, the black contrast and subtle highlights took some time to get right but overall it turned out better than I hoped.

IMG_0571.jpeg

IMG_0570.jpeg

I don’t think any other colour would have worked as well to match the fact this was indeed a Dragon and unique in its own right. This became more apparent when whipping up the corners at Nurburgring.

IMG_0565.jpeg

Every photo it just takes centre stage in whatever scape you put it in.

Stay crispy!

Saw this thread, finally got around to joining in. Ironically with another Nissan, despite not being their biggest fan. I'm not particularly creative with my liveries and styles - I tend to take an existing livery and add my own spin. So, here's my S15 Silvia, with the BTCC Primera livery with some extra pizazz.

I like using decals to create visual effects, so I've added to the front end air intakes along with various vents and air ducts, and some gradient effects to the arches to make them look more flared.

I've also tried to create the effect of a large rear diffuser (looks better from a distance). Other than that, it's basically the same as the 1998 Nissan Primera BTCC car with more modern wheels and metallic paint instead of gloss.

Nice work bud, the air intakes are definitely more prominent now, really like the look of the rear diffuser extension, it opens up the bumper a lot more and gives better depth. It’s about time the Primera set had an update 🤣 along with the new wheel and paint choice.
