And now, moving on to this...it will be ready soon!

It's all about censorship. The 962c raced with a Rothmans sponsorship, but because of tobacco/alcohol ban on liveries and motorsport, cars had different ways to approach this problem, in fact the Silk Cut Jaguar had its Silk Cut logos blanked out in GT (T10 choosed to add the Castrol livery instead) and the 962c has "Racing" words instead of Rothmans, so I'm giving the car the original livery back.

In FM4 the 926 managed to have it, but not anymore sadly:

(Sorry for the awful photos, my Outlook apparently doesn't have access to Forza or something so I can't access my gallery)

One of the challenges with this car from the past "Dreamcast" or "Arcade" version was finding reference for all sides and having to take multiple screen caps of several YT video footage. Did several of the logos myself but still some just downloaded, so means the design is unfortunately locked.

Funny little bit of nostalgia

Say, has anyone been able to get the colours for wheels centers, to save when applying extra layers to the body paint?

I can cover the body with one layer but, when I add more groups on top, it reverts the wheel centers back to chrome.

I'm not a designer, so I can't complain about other people's work. I couldn't even begin to do what a lot so, but I'm surprised there aren't more/better liveries for the 962c. I found a pretty decent jägermeister one. There's a really good #4 camel one too, but the guy has the camel on the front of the car facing the wrong direction. :nervous:

This is the one I want to see a great version of, I've only seen one that I can find, and it's not very accurate at all. So if someone feels like making this, they would get bonus cool points from me.

I'm trying to build a 962c collection with the classic liveries, I'm having trouble finding some that look realistic. 👍

The reason you aren't seeing a lot more replicas on the 956/962 is that the car's very poorly mapped; cars like the Miller-sponsored Daytona winner (and basically any car that has a stripe under the wrap-around front windshield or side windows and/or front fenders in different color) simply can't be replicated.

Unfortunately they decided to port a lot of models from Forza 4 with minimal changes, but the 962 was not one of these (it had very good mapping back then!). As it is now, I'm not touching it with a ten-feet pole, all the liveries I had planned to replicate (basically, all the Joest and Brun cars for starters) are simply out of reach.

It's a shame because that would've been a car the painting community would've greatly enjoyed working on no doubt, and I don't see a patch coming to replace its UV maps with some that actually make sense.

Wheel centres?
Yes. When we colour a custom wheel in Forza, the complete wheel is painted. I don't know if there is a glitch for the 300SL but, if you layer the body, the inner(center) of the wheel stays the original painted colour. Once the layers are saved, the center of the wheel becomes chrome.

Some cars do it some don't, I wish I could do that for more cars. I'd like to that with the Fikse FM10, give it the black anodized center they're available in.

Thank you @ClydeYellow for that feature! :)

What better to celebrate this than release the 962:

You'll notice that some decals are missing, specially the other 2 pilots names, but...they overlap over the side of the car and looks awful. In fact the rear Rothmans logo overlaps on the inside part of the spoiler, but the car looks way too empty without it, so I made an exception there.

@JorgePinto can you pretty please if it's not too hard make a modified version of the Rothman's? It's almost exactly the same, it just needs the number 2, and the drivers name switched from Derek bell to Stefan Bellof? If not that's ok too. Just figured I'd ask. :)

It's the car that has the Nordschliefe record. The 2 on the hood wouldn't be necessary. 👍
