Same, but don't mislead the guys. It still doesn't really have any details. It's just asking us to send in all of our info.

oh yeah, only details are it's in germany, in the european spring

new info to me was that you need to provide info on whether you'll be ok with driver briefings in english/german or whether you'll require a translator, but thats about it so far.

Hello everybody :)

Congratz to all that qualified for the finals, and to all that participated to this challenge too :)

I find the b-spec mode really fun to play, and playing to qualify in this challenge was so fun too!

In France we are still waiting for any sign from Sony, and it seems some people from other countries are still waiting too...

It is getting really long now xD

Hope all qualified people in all countries receive emails and can send infos soon !

Hey Ken, thanks for the update. From South Africa, I too am still waiting for the email, hopefully soon : )

Come on PD/Sony, shake a leg !!

Hi to everyone! I read the forums but ive never post before, only once. Today Spanish winners have recieved email, no date details yet. Good luck in Germany!

Is anyone else wondering why GTPlanet completely ignored this comp after the start? It seems every second news post is about US only GT Academy, ooh, it's down to only 512 people, ooh someone breathed, yet here we are down to the final 15, going to be flying to Germany from all around the world, and not even a single mention :/
It's because having the comp based on a crappy random B-Spec driver was a stupid, stupid move.

In your humble opinion. I think it was a good move, and the reason it is not mentioned on the GTP news is because it does not involve americans. I am sure it will get a mention when the driving event starts or finishes as several of us are GTPlanet users and will take photos and videoes of the action.

If any other of the final 15 get any info about when, where, or what regarding the driving event, please post it. I hope it is in April so I do not have to shift around a lot of stuff to make it fit in with my work.

Dear Steven

Thank you for your e-mail.

Kindly be advised that as Sony S.A we are unaware of this competition however you can contact Ster-Kinekor as they are the distributors of Playstation.

Kind regards,

Your Sony Customer Care Team

Have not received anything to date :embarrassed:

My contact called me this morning. He assures me everything is still moving forward, and the many details required to be sorted for an event like this are just being worked through. He will also see if he can get someone to contact the South African and French guys.

So my impression is everything is still all good, and things are happening, and we just need to be patient a little bit longer.

No problem guys. I know I feel a bit uneasy about the low level of info, so I'll do what I can to help out you guys who haven't even been contacted yet.

Ofocurse it will move ahead. They will probbaly wan to organise you guys at a similar time as the latest GT Academy guys.

Considering we'll be doing completely different things in completely different countries with completely different car companies, I doubt it.

bit of an update guys, I've just been informed that the event will take place at the newly completed Red Bull Ring in Australia in July :D

Here's some info on the circuit for everyone:
"The race circuit was founded as Österreichring and hosted the Formula One Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from 1970 to 1987. It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring, it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from 1997 to 2003. The track was then closed and demolished, bought by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz. Renamed the Red Bull Ring the track will be rebuilt and reopened for 2011, when it will host a round of the 2011 DTM season."

and the town:

"The city of Spielberg, with a population of about 5,000 inhabitants, is located north of the Mur in the east of Aichfeld, between the cities of Zeltweg and Knittelfeld"

Im kinda disappointed that i wont get to drive the ring but at the same time this is one of my all time favorite tracks. In my opinion its up there with spa and the ring. Big elevation changes, fast straights tight hairpins and some nice fast flowing corners too! I cant wait!

Here's a video of the last pole time on the track by Michael Schumacher in 2003

Thanks Marxgorm

Still waiting for my second e-mail with these details - but at least I now know what dates to keep free! see you there

Interesting if that's the final schedule, not least because it only describes three days when the 10, 11, 12, 13 is four days. And it only indicates about 1.5 days of stuff. That would be a shame if it's true, not least because it will take me about 1.5 days to get there, and 1.5 days to get back ....

It is what my contact sent me. and I presumed it would be more "stuff" as well. but if we are doing one track, 2 days pretty much covers it, if we were doing the AMG academy with several tracks and vehicles 4-5 days would be needed.
But yeah, sucks for you guys who have to fly so far, you should ask Sony to postphone your flight back so you can have some "beer" days while in Europe, I'll be happy to join you :P

Edit: my contact also wrote: "I am still to receive a full finalized winners information pack that will be sent to you as soon as I receive it." So i guess we have to wait around for that information pack to be sure about the schedule.
