Makes you wonder why they didn't put these up in the game and online. Would've made life for everyone easier!
well I'm glad there are lots of qualifiers on here and we are all the same (except Guyfos). what I don't want is them thinking they have contacted me when I haven't received the e-mail and then missing out.
I will post on here as soon as I receive anything and it would be good if you guys can do the same.

Hey guys, just to give you an update.
I recieved a phone call from SCEA, congratulating me (was very nice to hear). They also told me a couple of things:
All the details haven't been worked out yet, with Mercedes/Sony, etc, what's known so far is that it will be held in european spring, so March/April, and will go over about 4 days (+ travel time).
You should receive an email containing all the info and some formalities like; drivers license, passport, proof that you competed, etc.
So all up, GOING TO GERMANY!!

That waiting period must have been hell 
I am still waiting on the reply from my contact, keep checking if I wrote the e-mail adress wrong and that all my documents were in order and properly sent off.. I want a solid confirmation

Is anyone else wondering why GTPlanet completely ignored this comp after the start? It seems every second news post is about US only GT Academy, ooh, it's down to only 512 people, ooh someone breathed, yet here we are down to the final 15, going to be flying to Germany from all around the world, and not even a single mention :/

I guess you gotta keep the news relevant to the majority of the readers. When you guys get back from Germany and the media everywhere else covers it you'll probably make the front page of the GTP blog.

Hey Guys.. I think waiting for the confirmation email is prob more stressful than the comp itself..
A while back I mentioned that the local Merc dealer had a red SLS that I wanted to go see, but it wasnt there when I went round. Well it was today..
I thought id go have a look.. Man, what a beauty, i can highly recommend the red. The car had a small crowd gathered around and i got talking to the Dealer Principal. Told him abouit the SLS comp. He could hardly believe me that an SLS was a prize in a playstation competition. I actuall think he still doesnt. Told him to google it though. Anyway, now the good part..
He said he was going for a drive and I boldy tried my luck.. Yes.. He took me with..
man, what a car.. He didnt floor it though. He said the car belongs to a customer and is still new so no hectic driving. He also didnt use the paddles, only auto. Couple of places he gave a bit of gas to overtake on the freeway and i got a good feel of the torque. I must admit it is very snug inside. Almost feels very small. But once settled in it is very comfy. All in all I prob spent about 30 minutes as passenger while he drove up and down the freeways.
One thing though, and it is not the first time I have thought this. I have seen clips of the car on youtube, both from inside and outside. I have not once thought that the in game sound of the SLS is spot on. And after today I feel even more that the sound of the car in GT5 is not perfect. I could be wrong though, but having spent hundreds of hours with this car in B-Spec I doubt I am.. The car doesnt have the big V8 thumper sound in the game that it does in the flesh.. even today in the car, the sound was FAR more V8 than in the game. Just my personal opinion...
At the end of the day I am ecstatic I got that chance. Depressing though since i missed the finals. But at the same time VERY motivational.. Make you want to work harder.
