I just downloaded the SLS challange.
But I can not join it.
I have to register on gran-turismo.com.
But where??? Is there a special link?

You should click on the Signature Edition Prize Competition entry on the official Gran Turismo website. You do have to have the code to enter though. Here is the list anyway:

Great, the Netherlands is not in it. Thank you PD, in the name of the thousands of people that payed a sick amount of money to not compete in the competition. :grumpy: 👎

few quick questions
1.are all car settings the same?
2. how do you check what level b spec driver they used?

Anyone redeem their code, sign up on the web site and *not* have the Challenge event appear in "Seasonal Events"?

I'm not seeing it :(

-edit-

Opps, wrong code. I didn't realise the competition code was on the card in the wallet. I almost gave the wallet to a friend too. Had no idea.

I've yet to redeem my code as my Bob is doing a championship at the moment but shouldn't the event be in the Special Events. Check there if you haven't already.

Just to add some pictures for those who are curious about its format, here it is being downloaded from the PSN store:

Interestingly that they added to the Seasonal Events Section when they said the following in the terms and conditions. Must of been either written before the addition of the Seasonal Events or just a genuine mistake.
Step 3: The Signature Edition Challenge
Entrants must boot up their copy of Gran Turismo 5 (the “Game”) on their PS3, sign-in to their PSN Account and play the Signature Edition Challenge which will be accessible from the Special Events section. Entrants must ensure that they have downloaded all game updates that have been made available as of the opening date.

I think it was written before they realised they had to release the game incomplete...

Just came back from Christmas with my family and found out that my PS3 lens failed, it doesn't detect a disc in the drive. Now I have to buy a new PS3....this is so bad timing.
170 euros badly spent as I won't be able to participate, if only they did this one month earlier or maybe in two months.
Merry Christmas to all the Gtplanet members! (despite being in a bad mood I always strive to be polite)

Oh ffs! Every time I try to complete the entry form on the website, I get to the Sign In part, enter my sign in info, hit Sign In but keep getting "An error occurred. Please close the window and try again."

[Edit] Never Mind, sorted it now, was Internet Explorer being rubbish as usual! Used FireFox and it worked first time! So if anyone else has any problems registering using IE, go use FireFox instead.

So after I've failed to win this comp I doubt that I will want to pickup this game ever again. And I've been a GT fan since the original.

Having to plough through the frustrating, boring **** that is B Spec has completely killed this game for me. I wish I'd never found out about the competition and had just bought a normal copy of GT5.

I don't like B-spec either but I just feel like a poor guy that didnt spend 200$ for ONE game ...

C'mon, a wheel ? A signature edition ? whats next a playseat ?
I don't want to whine about it because its freaking awsome to play with a wheel but i just find it fustrating to be unable to participate since I didn't spend two hundred bucks for a game...

A wonderful SLS AMG for the richest people, maybe they'll make a corolla challenge for the regular edition of the game...

It's the only game I bought for the PS3 - in fact it's the other way round. Each to its own.

But I probably have no chance in winning the SLS either as I see on the interweb that quite a number of people have gone to considerable lengths to push the level of Bob by using a PC and some tool or other.

Now that's what I call "*massive violation of the AUP*" 👎

Yeah its not like I had any chance to win with my lvl 15 b-spec driver...:indiff:

Well.

You dont have to use any tools above Lvl 25. Just give Bob a race and a overpowered car, come back in a few hours and repeat until Lvl 32. Then give him your won Red Bull X1 and Tsukuba 9h and go to bed/work. After reaching Lvl 35 do 24h again and again and again.

But it takes patience to achieve Lvl 25.

greets from bayern to bayern :>

Noob Bobs sometimes have a lack of fear and thus forget the early braking. Don't worry, it goes away with age.

Shame I don't have any kind of real world driving experience. No real point in me bothering to be honest :P

Had the same problem during the 1st week the game was released and bought a brand new slim.

You have an option to transfer all your saved from the old to the new directly with a ethernet cable between the 2, it takes approx 3hours but you don't loose your games ;)

You have to do championship entirely and at once, OR you may get results of challenges in any order (to do this Competition right)?

Well the event opened today so I guess it will change soon. I mean, a lvl 40 B-spec will win this for sure nah ?

Not necessarily.

I think a lot depends on where/how bob overtakes the other cars. They could really hold up bob.

Indy is a problem with my bobs.:grumpy:

Indeed, I have found that, if you hit Increace Pace at the wrong point Bob will almost 'glue' himself to the bumper of the car infront and not overtake and then when you can finally hit Overtake he squirms around before attempting it.
Getting the Overtake right is vital for that first Chicane on Monza!

Not necessarily, My Bob was only Level 15 and I'm ranked 3rd on the Monza Circuit at the moment.

So what is the best approach, Bob's stats need to be maxed out? Do we need 2 drivers, 1 that has a cool character and 1 that has a hot character but can overtake?
