Simulating everything feature

Will this increase gameplay immersion?

Well. Something I don't think anybody has noticed yet. There's a screenshot of the online lobby going around with the Event Settings. Look at the right hand side where you can see the start of the Course Settings and there's an option that says "Chance of Rain/Snow" - could it be that?

Emphasis on the Snow part

I can see it happening next-gen, but I don't think the PS3 can handle it.
This,We can hope but I doubt also that the PS3 can take much more, but in saying that we'll see what they come up with.:)

The idea of all this atmosphere and humidity simulation sounds great ... in reality though... as a player i seriously doubt it will have any effect in the game play .. and the only real way to know there is any change in the " humidity " will be with some kind of on screen cue.. which seems a bit pointless, driving the car round a track , you will not notice a slight drop in the humidity of the atmosphere.

I really wish they would dedicate more time to aspects of the game that would enhance the actual physics and gameplay such as better sounds / full damage system including mechanical failures / much deeper setup adjustment ..

Things that when you adjust the parameters you can feel it has had an effect.

All this simulating the world around you is just PR nonsense.

It's all good, but it wouldn't be my first priority.

This would be like a quality of game exponent, if the rest is great, this makes it truly epic... If the rest is only meh, then this only makes it alright.

It seems like they are going overboard in all directions, except for those that actually matter. So weird to see secondary features getting so much attention while others are stuck in the 90s.

Don't get me wrong, I love those little things and the attention to detail but giving me a polished door when the rest of the car is missing is a little odd.

They are on the moon, currently tacking some sound samples..
Will be fun if there is some noise when looking from outside.
I can hear HAL2000 ... before racestart:(movie quote fits perfect)
Dave Bowman: Hello, HAL. Do you read me, HAL?
HAL: Affirmative, Dave. I read you.
Dave Bowman: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.
Dave Bowman: What's the problem?
HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave Bowman: What are you talking about, HAL?
HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Dave Bowman: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL.
HAL: I know that you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave Bowman: [feigning ignorance] Where the hell did you get that idea, HAL?
HAL: Dave, although you took very thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.
Dave Bowman: Alright, HAL. I'll go in through the emergency airlock.
HAL: Without your space helmet, Dave? You're going to find that rather difficult.
Dave Bowman: HAL, I won't argue with you anymore! Open the doors!
HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

The problem is, it doesn't simulate everything.

If it did, it'd be simulating stuff like...I don't know, cheese making? And many other things besides.

Seems ridiculous I know, but it's true. GT6 doesn't simulate it, and therefore, everything is not simulated.

Then what are the guys working on the audio doing?

And they are doing one hell of a job.

So life like.

Much realism.

Wow Group B.

I agree the sound is terrible, no doubt. But dynamic time and weather has no effect on the sound designers who are responsible for creating engine sounds. There's no correlation. They're doing a poor job but they'd be no better without this new feature so why not have it?

You are certainly not wrong. The problem is that the more they keep polishing and adding secondary stuff, the more the important bits that haven't been improved in years stand out, which raises many legitimate questions even if there isn't a direct relation between the different features/systems.

Simulating Everything” feature theme detailing atmospheric changes: time, temperature, humidity, clouds, dispersion of the atmosphere.

Thoughts? What is it?

Maybe we can adjust aero to suit certain elements of weather conditions. We have been told that the aero system will be different, and if it truly does simulate atmospherics as well as everything, it could affect the way the cars behave mid race, if there is a change in conditions. Would be nice to see vortices on high powered racing cars, but that may be pushing the boat a bit too far.

Cripes. Lots of input here. I was hoping this means tire pressures can be adjusted. Who knows, maybe fuel consumption and tire wear will be affected by this also.

Unlikely, it would be nice to think it would and that push to realism is getting ever closer .. but there is only so much a SIMULATOR can SIMULATE ... you cant feel the heat from the sun or the cold from snow in a game .. so why try to simulate it. beats me.

You can feel the differences in car setup's .. and yet they do their upmost to overlook all that stuff , there is so much they could implement quite easily that would rival the top pc sims for realistic physics..

I love GT .. have bought and played everyone of them to death ... but every single game I wish they steered more to the REALISM they claim.

The other thing is ..

Its all very well them saying it simualtes the wind coming from a gnatts arse as it farts... how do you know it actually is... so them saying it simulates atmoshpheric pressure ... how can we tell ??
