I'm looking to buy a skyline, currently I own a CRX, but races are getting harder, and its pretty tuned... What kind should I get, money is kinda tight... And is it that worth it going new?

I wouldn't bother going new if I was you. You could find a particularly fast Nissan skyline GT-R (R32) for round about 15-18000 Cr in 'used car 80's' lot. Give it an oil change and it will soon be back to high BHP, sure you will have to re-tune it, but its certainly got more potential that a CRX.

Could I advise you on a different car however. If money is really tight, then perhaps a good import tuner would be the Nissan 300ZX, it tends to be a good 3000 Cr. cheaper in the used car lot and isn't struggling for BHP either. It is a good handling car IMO so that is certainly worth a look.

If you have a bit more cash then perhaps you should consider, a 90's RX-7, get the most recent model possible. It probably is the fastest import tuner and has great handling, especially fun to drive without driving aids as well. While it appears to have less BHP, don't be fooled! that thing goes like a rocket. Again if you go for a second hand one don't forget the oil change.

If you really want to go for a new car then, I would advise the Cheverolet Camero (Go for the best version). While it is no import tuner, it is very cheap for a new car and has a great deal of BHP in comparison to the others. If I remember correctly (355 BHP after oil change). It hasn't got the awesome handling of the Rx-7 but certainly shifts. I got it as my second car. My first was a skyline.

Hope that helps

Thanks that helped allot. Right before you sent this post, I purchased the R33 Skyline from the Used car lot for 29,000. I'm not particularly happy with it though... I'm hoping a couple upgrades will help.

The Rx-7 sounds nice, I may buy... I'm looking for a car to beat the capri... so i get get some cash...

some mods and soft sport tires ~ 10k, you race against a fairly slow audi, so it wont be much hassle. I actually wanna try it now that you said KT,

do you use driving AIDS?
what tiers on the crx?
do you need more practice pehraps?

first off, how much green you got to spend on a skyline?
second off, what are you looking for, there is 15,000 skylines on GT4, r32, r33 r34. etc, etc...
third off, i used a lightly tuned lightning to win the capri rally :D

Get the 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It is the most lightweight GT-R. It weights in at 1430Kg, while the new R34 weights in at about 1600Kg.

All you have to do is the second special events race, msell the car, adn repeat 1 or 2 more times and by the FALCON GT-R my personal favorite!

R32 GT-R would had been better car than R33, that is generally thought as the weakest GT-R. Especially Nismo S-Tune is capable of incredible performance when tuned correctly. R34 is on the heavy side, and big car all together.

anyways, for capri rally I'd rather use something light and mid-engined, such as Tommykaira ZZ-S or lotus elise, which ever suits your money situation.

I would agree with using something a whole lot lighter for this, though, and not necessarily four-wheel-drive. It's not as important in the rallies in GT4 as it should be. I like the sound of a Tommykaira ZZ-S, but an Elise would be cheaper and quite capable.

Gotcha, old buddy :D

but, I prefer TK ZZ-S, since it IS lighter and produces more power.

Lotus motorsport Elise produces.. what, 285ish bhp in NA form, where as TK produces 302bhp. In forced induction route the difference is smaller, LMS Elise produces 350bhp flat, and TK produces 353bhp.

Thats everyone, (way back, as stated in before post) I bought that R33, did an oil change, and ran the capri. I won it, and bought the best New Nissan(dealership) skyline i could buy...

Where is the Falken Skyline? Is it better than The best Skyline from the Dealership?

the falken skyline can also be found in the new car dealership for $550,000 it is mixed in with the japan GT cars on the far end of the line up. it handles really well, has (if i can remember right) 530 hp, and was meant to run on the nurburgring and i personally enjoy driving it.

edit: it has 508hp from the factory and 534 after an oil change

R32 was produced from '89 to late '94, then R33 started on '95 and went on until '97 and finally out came R34 that was produced from '98 to '02.

and what they are?? they're chassis codes. like F-body etc..

Hmmm, what about the '86 Toyota MR2? At the moment, I cannot remember how it's exactly called in the game but you can purchase it in the '80s used car lot. If you buy it, be sure to buy the "Supercharged" version. It's very light, got around 125 HP and handles like a dream for such a small car, boost up the horsepower and you've got some car 👍

However, since your money is "tight", it maybe would be better to look around for a new car rather than buying an old one because of the worn out chassis. To renew it, it'll cost you 50,000 credits...This isn't really necessary when it's below 300 HP but if you'll pump it up to 400 HP, you may consider buying the chassis refresher 👍

i have your solution wat u need to do is (u might thank me for this)go into special event races and do the second race down all u need is a car with over 200hp (i still do this race) down once u win it its $5,000 each race and u get a car worth $256,000 sell it then u go buy a nissan skyline v-spec 2 nur (it should be near the end of the list in the dealer ship)its coulor is black buy it and put every thing u can stuff under the hood and with raceing tyres 911kw with oil change... this will take a while pending on how many times u do that race if do it alot it will be quicker for u to get the car to race form it is the fastest skyline there is (i think)

P.S..pm me if u want more defined details and settings

ehh.. going all out isn't actually a good idea, unless one is going to race in Like The Wind at test course (extreme hall). it's better to start off with like 450+-500bhp and aff power if it's needed to defeat the incompetent AI.

how incompetent is AI? well, with stock R32 V-Spec II I could beat 500bhp+ BMW M5 etc.. and it wasn't even close on straights either, since AI uses about 80% of the cars true capabilities, conserves tires and fuel.

I'm also wondering his settings and exactly wich CRX, i'd like to give capri a try with it.

yeah but it is the next best thing from a full bread race car like the toyota minolta.... plus wat do u mean it isnt good goin all out with the right settings it sticks to the road. plus the R33 isnt a bad car its preety good on the track.Or if u dont want the skyline u can always buy the honda GT1 car its not as fast but it sticks to the road like "**** on velcro" but u dont need to follow my advise but the race is a good money builder

My crx settings where what ever came with it, I have to learn how to tune cars yet...

I have lots of cars now, including some good skylines, by beating that Capri rally.. But I'm still not sure what is the best, I have 2 very similer ones at around 730-780hp and I dont feel much of a diffrence....

Is the Falken Skyline better than the Top stock skyline? (production)

Especially Nismo S-Tune is capable of incredible performance when tuned correctly. R34 is on the heavy side, and big car all together.
Agreed wholeheartedly... but at least the R34 is a smaller car than the R33.

If you're looking for the ultimate modded road Skyline, nothing beats the R34 V-SpecII Nür 02. It has so much power that nothing else comes even close. The best tuner Skyline would be the Mine's N1 V-Spec II and the best race model is the Xanavi Nismo '03. The Falken takes its place between the Mine's and the Nismo. But, just as a sidenote, even the older road models from the nineties can take on JGTC cars with similar power output (around 500 bhp) and come out on top. It's been tried and done. ;)

Do so, with a maximum output of 911bhp it's easily the most powerful road-going Skyline in the game, and it's capable of speeds in excess of 325mph. Putting all that power on the road is an issue, but it's not impossible to handle. Sub-six-minute laps at the Nordschleife are well within reach (something I had to mention to combat Greycap and Leonidae's very valid arguments in favour of R32s ;)).

When you start off in GT4 stay away from the dealers, you end up wasting so much money. Look for a decent car in the used car lot, Id get a R32 GTR.

The Falken GT-R is a fantastic alternative to buying a JGTC, it has matching power and performance and is less than half the price of a GT500 JGTC.
