@Slash
Congrats on the free ride. My dad gave me my very first vehicle free too which was a 67 Chevy long box. Loved that truck.

One of my friends (a member on this site) also has one of these vans and he loves it. At your age its a great vehicle to have a lot of fun in. You can load up a bunch of friends and go just about anywhere in comfort. Go offroad two tracking, go to the drive in, go on a cruise. Plus plenty of room for a killer stereo system. You can even load up engines into it if necessary. :D

Also, it doesn't matter if it is a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Oldsmobile, or Lamborghini. As long as you enjoy your ride, that's all that counts. I have owned a very wide variety of vehicles. I discriminate against none.

The way you described it was very ghetto... I'm calling it the Ghetto Van. :P

Rally it. Race it against a trike. I dare you.

My dad has a 95 Voyager, white/silver. 200k+ km on the odo, and last year took it on vacation to Cancun, which is... er, very far away. they are great cars when well maintained, very very comfortable and practical.

Meet me at Mid-Ohio and we will see how has the faster car. :mischievous:

You got yourself a race! I should have it down there when I start college (if I get accepted).

Oh my god

Oh. My god.

Can I do it? Can I finally do it?

Hey @Slash, needs a V8!

But seriously a big congratulations on your first big step!
I know it does! Mid mounted too.

He must be if he is willing to buy a 90s Caravan...I don't know if I should go ask him to pick up groceries or keep it at 35 Grand ma.
It was free though.

We should get both our cars and do the slowest drag race known to man.
🤬 yeah. Someone call Guinness. This needs to go in the world records book.

Exactly, and that is what is so great about it. Throw a three wheeler or something in the back and go. I would have loved a pickup, but this was free so I'm not complaining.

Same problem I have with our family van. ('06 T&C.)

That's the next generation after this. Which is a rebadged Dodge basically.

Yay! Ghetto all the way. :D

Oh don't you tempt me. Because I will do it. I will.

Most trikes would probably smoke this thing

Instead of thinking about stupid things to do with it like auto-x and superchargers, fix that shock tower.

Because not being dead is pretty cool, too.

Yup, that's a main priority and the next thing on the list. I have the new plates that go over the hole (dad picked them up yesterday) along with some sheet metal to bolt and weld in. I will be replacing the front struts as well since it sits a little bit low making the headlights sag a bit. It's not going anywhere until that gets fixed.

Well at least you'll be able to tow our bikes down to Indiana.:sly:

Actually that's a good idea. I have fit rather large loads into these things and they hold weight well so if you can get your bike here, I can probably make it fit with a three wheeler as well. Even if the tires have to come off, I will make it work

Probably the greatest intro for a car thread as well.

:D

Ah yes, the Voyager. It's pretty much the EXACT same thing. I agree they are very reliable. Other than basic maintenance, this one has held up very well under abuse for a long time. We've had it for years (along with 2 others). I also agree on the comfort factor, they ride VERY smoothly.

That's the most american post I've ever seen here, I'm feeling so free right now

And yes, I am a Mopar fan in case your wondering. Not that you care anyway, because you are still in shock that it's not a Ford. I know. It doesn't even make sense. DOESN'T. EVEN. MAKE. 🤬. SENSE.

I'm a Mopar fan too...

...Well kinda. I like Ford better of course. :P

Anyway, congrats on the van. Free stuff is awesome. :D I could have got my dad's 89 Dodge when I'm old enough to drive. But, he had to sell it... For $1800. :grumpy:

If this actually does happen, then that would be the most ridiculous race between 2 cars that has ever happened at that track.

Still would be awesome though.

If and when I make it down there, I'll have you come up. I'll even cover the cost of the race for you as a thanks for the premo.

Your van has power over mine, I have lightness over you, you have a higher center of gravity, and I have never hooned the Kia (it isn't exactly "inspiring").

We both do have 4-speed slushboxes and all-season tires (probably).

Well then, it looks like I'll have to add some stickers to my car. :P

Every sticker is worth 15hp. I have 2 on you

It looks like it does have air. That's what the snowflake button (underneath the red part of the temperature slider) is for.
Yes I should have pointed out it had air conditioning, it just doesn't work

OP felt like a commercial, you should work Making mopar commercials

I should look into that

I should do a commercial just to be funny lol

"Chances are, if you own a minivan, you're not drag racing and driving like a douchebag on the turnpike. You work for a living. Whether it's the kids or the factory, you need a van that does the jobs other minivans can't handle. The Doge Voyaging Caravan Country Edition. Get it now before they're gone."

Totally not a parody of the Ferd Fteenthousand.

I'll get a large Nurburgring sticker and another one that says "Drive hard and never lift!" on it. I'll make up the deficit. :mischievous:

For the man whose wife told him "Damn it you have kids, get rid of that Thundercougarfalconbird and buy something responsible"

Or

"You don't want a divorce, do you?"

My "FUBO" sticker that's torn to shreds has 'Murica written all over it. Your argument is invalid.

"Or in the case that you are drag racing or taking your kids to track days, here's a 160hp, top heavy barge with enough room to carry 7 people comfortably yet be subtle enough to let your kids do burnouts and donuts in the parking lot. Yes Australia, there is indeed a difference."

Like I said, I will make up the difference. :mischievous:.

Waitaminute, it only has 160 HP, I've got this one in the bag. Oh and BTW, the race is not going to be at a drag strip, it will be on this magnificent course.

A drag race can happen on that back straight, but then we get to the esses, and we will see whats what.

Hey. I actually live in Upstate New York. And Watkins is open now. Race me. I'm spotting you 500 pounds. It might be close.
You are on. When I get it cleaned up and ready to race (mechanically) I will get ahold of you and meet you down there. Hopefully sometime this summer we can do it 👍

There's Watkins Glen and then their is also NY International Speedway which is the 1/4 mile strip around here as well if you want to do it there too. If I got some extra money I'll cover the race cost for ya.
