So I played the PS3 demo and although I do love the game I am horrified at how inferior the PS3 version is compared to the 360 one.... and this is coming from a studio that has only ever done PS3 games! I cannot believe this late in the generation that some dev's are still having trouble producing equal quality on both machines.

Massively disappointed at how average it looks on PS3, its around the quality of games that came out in 2006-07 and even Stranglehold (which is its most comparable game) gives it a run for its money.

I mean just look at this comparison, granted most games these days its pretty hard to gauge which is better but this one is clear as day!

Ordered the Limited Edition of this on 360 earlier today, and can't wait for it to arrive.

From the videos I've seen the map is a relatively good size, and filled with stuff to do, and the combat system looks fantastic, but I'll wait and see...

The map is actually probably one of the smallest maps in a sandbox games. HOWEVER it is very congested in a good way. Every area, every alley, every corner has a lot going on. So even though its smaller in size, each area always has something going on to keep the city feeling alive. I dont recall any areas that seem empty or boring. You will enjoy Sleeping Dogs for sure. Its a great game. I rented SD and put about 25 hours into it. I completed just about everything I wanted to complete and it started to get repetititve. The only thing I really had left was the collectibles which I really didnt feel like getting.

Definitely one of my top/favorite open-world games, up there with Just Cause 2, Saboteur, Infamous Series, Red Dead Redemption & Darksiders II. Best hand-to-hand combat system for an open-world game for me.

just started playing this, really enjoyable so far. Usually with these gta clones it's the lack of rockstar style humour that kills it, this might go the same way, not heard anything particularly funny yet

Check out post #82. If you meet Sifu and dont laugh, then you have no sense of humor.

If you like sense of humor make sure to check out Saints Row 2 and Saints row 3. Never laughed so much while playing those 2 games in my life. Especially if you play the campaign as a co-op.

The mother & daughter who are usually chatting outside your apartment are comedy. Car-jacking a tourist will reveal a comical phrase every now & then. Tons of humor in this game.

Old Salty Crab made me laugh quite hard during one of his missions. He climbs a fence and falls to the other side.
"Ohhwwww I just pulled a musle. I didnt even know I had a musle there".

"Maybe I should have that massaged later"

 He has a lot of funny dialog.

One of my favorites, haha! 👍

DLC Trailer

First Sleeping Dogs campaign DLC, 'Nightmare in North Point,' coming October 30th

Polygon
The Halloween-themed DLC brings the supernatural into Sleeping Dogs' version of Hong Kong, with the developers' take on zombie fiction via Chinese mythology. Nightmare in North Point tells the story of a gang member whom the Triad tortured and killed; here, he comes back to life with an army of the undead, and it's up to protagonist Wei Shen to take care of the threat.

The developers presented a live demo of Nightmare in North Point in which Shen took on possessed members of the 18K Triad gang. Their eyes glow blue, and when they're killed, they disappear into the ground in a flash of green light. It's a good thing he now has lightning fists courtesy of some magical tea from an earlier mission. Shen also has to contend with Jiang Shi — Chinese vampires. For them, he has a peach wood sword. According to Chinese lore, such blades were used in Taoist exorcisms.

No price was announced at the panel. According to a representative for Square Enix, Nightmare in North Point will offer a few hours' worth of content.

I had totally forgotten about this game. It looks like something I'd enjoy but it sounds too short to be worth the full price and all this DLC is a pretty good reason to wait for a Steam sale on the complete edition they may end up bringing out, or at the very least a 75% off sale on the game itself. It's either that or 50% off a complete edition for me. Is anyone still playing it?

I've completed everything within the game and still play it. Hijacking the money vans, causing ruckus to get the cops attention & getting into gunfights with them afterwards haha. Driving the Velocita, hitting the highway & taking out motorcyclist never gets old for me. Replaying some of the story missions & races is pretty fun for me too.

That's not to terribly bad. I'd prefer it to be a bit bigger though. If I can get some extra cash I'll definitely pick this up as I am a huge fan of open world games.

Yeah, its a decent game to waste some time on, no doubt.

But in my opinion it wasn't worth to buy at full price.
Im glad I got like 80% of the buying price back when I sold it. :D

Well for me it's actually the contrary it's well worth it's price, it's one of the best game I've played this year hands down. Much better than GTA 4. It fits my liking more.

This is getting ridiculous.

Yeah, why is it that pretty much any game worth having right now on next gen is a port?! I guess it will be a few years for proper next gen stuff comes through especially with 3rd party dev's.

We never saw this nearly as much with the PS2 to PS3 crossover because the power gap was much bigger so the games would look terrible plus I'm sure the coding would have been a nightmare. It was only way later they started doing those HD collections but I'm talking about the 2006 onwards overlap.

As for Sleeping Dog's, it was disappointing Hong Kong wasn't done with the same accuracy and detail as GTAIV or V did with their cities. Looked like a Kung Fu movie stereotypical interpretation of it.

I know the game is well liked by some. The PC version is quite a bit better than the PS3/360 so now they have the new consoles to put it on.

Always confident when the trailer consists of absolutely no in game footage

Sleeping Dog's dev's have always been heavy on the airbrushing and bullshots when it has come to trailers and info, especially during the games initial development even back when it was True Crime. I don't know why they have always been so coy about showing the real goods. I remember trailers like this, looked nothing like this in the end!

I guess GTA has spoilt everyone's expectations of open world games.

As this has all the DLC, maybe some totally new content and if it looks as good as max graphics on PC it could be decent.
