has SFX officially killed itself?
Yes.
has SFX officially killed itself?
Half of the team I haven't even seen on in a month or more. Dead team is dead.
You guys are spot on. I've noticed the decline in activity in the drifting forums of GTP. I first though it was the moderation but i guess a lot of people (including me) would agree with SFX_Commodore; it's all about the team, drifting and hanging out together.. And I guess alot of teams suffer the same problem because the whole DL of GTP seems to be die-ing.
I hate to say it but APX is as good as dead too. I havent drifted with any of my team mates in ages, except for last weekend; 20 minutes of half ass drift activity..
It's just the ways things go i guess.
EDIT: for me; I'm eager to see FM4 arrive; I've always found FM.net to be a more nice place to be then the GTP forums..
Yea I agree, as much as I like GT5, I prefer Forza and the community. GT5 is pretty boring when you think about it, it looses its appeal really quick, yet I still find myself playing Forza cause it still has that "appeal"
It's hard to say but its true,
I was a big fan of forza because I love how they appealed in a way that made us feel like its real life. I mean Am I really going to drift a stock looking ae86? it looks hideous with those wheels! I don't know. I just hope fm4 will have physics good enough to compete
Until I see whats the deal with FM4 I'll stick to gt5
5 years in the making... 4 years on physics. 9 months on graphics. 2 months on career. 1 week on cars. 3 weeks on ECT.
Im not sure if you where joking or not, but no matter how they spent their time; it was mostly wasted. I heard the reason for it was because they wanted to keep all developement inhouse. Physics, modeling, coding, everything. Its been proven by PD; thats not the way to produce games.
But on that other note; take a look at how active the FM.net DL still is. Sure it's not as active as it was in the beginning, but its more active then GTP DL..
I believe the painting, tuning, photgraphy and all other community elements make people want to create communities like drift and race teams, which in turn keep them involved with playing the game and taking part in a community. It simply keeps the game more interesting for a very longer period of time.. GT has lots to learn! (But it needs to be said that T10 could surely learn from PD in some departements; i just dont know of them..)
I do still very much enjoy drifting my Silvia K Dia selection though... Very much! Once your ingame; its okay..
Why would you start another team Jeremy? You have a leadership role on SFX, a team which at least has a bit of reputation, wouldn't make sense starting over.
You guys know you can recruit, right? Team's inactive? Do something about it.
I'm going to go start a SFX lobby, i'm bringing it back to life. I'm also going to chug 5 beers to make it more interesting, true SFX Style.
Yea, GT5 physics are alot better then Forzas, but thats not to say Forzas are bad. I just prefer the overall feel of that game, drifting on GT5 can be more rewarding, but i think overall Forza is just a more enjoyable game. GT5 took so long to develop, they're lacking alot of content other games have got and have had for a couple of years
i've tried to explain this to forza fans but dont listen. Gran Turismo is more a real driving feel and can get very frustrating at times because its more of a challenge. Forza is more an arcade game compared to gran turismo. The physics are massively different but yet it is a great game to play because i think it is alot easier, especially having the choice of difficulty!
SFX_AdavicroThis may come as a surprise to you, but there's a lot more to a driving game than physics.
Edit: let's not turn this into a GT5 vs. Forza argument, that's a sure-fire way to get this thread locked, let's just settle on "they're both good at different things."
Yet when the game is supposed to be a sim the most important thing is to have good physics.
As stated above GT5 physics have a more "real" feel than Forza.
