Slowest Car You've Won with on SS5 Enduro to try for the Cerbera LM

Ill try in the bp kraft trueno on hard slicks so i dont have to pit as often as the opposition.
itll be hard though.

Actually (and I hate to be the one to educate people on this) you may notice PD screwed up tire wear in GT2, and they never fixed it. You can go the same number of laps on super-soft tires as you can on hards. Try it. But if you wanna use hard slicks, it's still more challenging, since hards do offer less grip than softs. The only thing they didn't get right as I said is wear. 👎

The worst kind of error, but it helped me to race a 1967 Shelby Cobra and actually contend in upper-class races. I should try it. So, I guess this means that a BP Kraft Trueno will be an interesting racer, being very eligible for a win on soft tires. On hards, it still is possible.

Super-soft tires (even tho they're the best for lap times) aren't always the best choice in my opinion. With many cars in GT2, I actually don't like the way they grip the road too much, and I'd purposely use softs, mediums or hards (or some combo) because these tires offer more leeway, and are also better for sliding & drifting around and stuff. Depends on the car, tho.

Also, I remember finding super-soft tires were simply overkill in some cases. Sucahyo proved that the Ai in GT2 is often on normal or sports tires in most of the races...only in the top races are these cars shod with slicks. Later on I'll find that thread Sucahyo started..or maybe he'll show up and bring it up so I won't have to look for it! :sly:

My turn to thread-bump :)
Parnelli, is this the case in ALL versions of GT2? Not just v1.0, which demands five grand for a car wash and puts 700hp supercars into a entry-level endurance race? ;)
If this is the case, my Cusco Impreza could stand a fairly decent chance.

(accidentally bump the thread)
whoops, sorry. But it's easier to bump the existing thread rather than seek & create a new one, right?
The slowest car i use to won the SSR5 enduro is Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99.
I face THREE TOYOTA GT-ONE(gasp!:scared: ),one of '98 model & pair of '99 model.Win very close and obtain a Lancer EVO VI:ouch:.Try again,happened again(how rare,face 3 TS020 twice),finally retrieve the Cerbera LM:)
That's fun, let's never do that again.
EVER!

I'm not sure because I had a 1.0 disc but I soon traded it back to GameStop for a Greatest Hits (1.2) version). I never got as far as enduros with 1.0 version.

My guess is version 1.0 would include the same erroneous tire wear that's in 1.2...it's one of the mistakes that never got fixed.

ive only done this race 2 times both in the escudo my first time i dont no how long i was there but i got lanser rally
the second time i finished in like 59 minutes i dont no the exact time but i got the cerbera

Of course it's "ownage". Would you really take an Escudo to the Route 5 enduro? And do lap after lap way ahead of everyone else? Sounds boring as hell to me.

Anyways, I think you're missing the point of this thread.

Trying with Mondeo first, don't wanna have to win another few hundred grand to tune the 156 :dopey:
Think I got a chance? 300-something hp :D

EDIT
Don't have a chance... sorry for doublepost.
Especially against 2 TS020s, an R390, an XJ220, and a GT40..

EDIT AGAIN.
I suck.. :ouch:
2 laps in, 13 seconds behind, 1:32.647 and 1:26.342 laptimes.
THE RACE ISNT OVER YET THOUGH :dopey:

Yea, those cars you mentioned haven't got enough power. Try something like the Alfa 155 Touring car (you'll never survive Route 5 in a 156 or a Mondeo!) The race will still be plenty challenging in the 155TC.

On the last page, they were all talking about it and apparently it's been done.. I believe that if I drive better and maybe tune better, I can do it.. unfortunately I'm not great at tuning.
However, they averaged about 1:20:xxx laps, and the best I've managed is a 1:20:xxx. But I definitely won't stop this quickly.. I've been able to maintain second, less than 10 seconds behind the lead car, for 13 laps before spinning out, and I'm usually at least in 4th and close to the 2nd and 3rd place cars.

So here I go... This is my car:

Short overview: I've been trying this all night. I didn't count how many times did I restart the race. The most terrible was the one when I've lost to TS020 by +0.004. And if I wasn't suffering then, then I don't know what suffer is.
I've been leading during almost all the race (except the pit stops and some other moments) holding 1, 2 or 3 GT1 cars behind me. The blue R390 was a very unexpected guest in the last turn of the race - it went in the pits a bit later than the others and I thought that it's out of the battle, so when I saw him in the rear view I was like "OMG, what's this?!". Anyway, I'm glad this has finally finished and I can now sleep. :ouch:

My best time was 1.21.233. I don't think it's great, but it was hard to show any good times holding the GT1 cars behind.

Ah yes, here's my prize:

Here.
Hey wait, his best time was a 1:21.233?
WITH PRACTICE I CAN DO IT! :dopey:
My 156 is white.. wonder if that slows it down XDD

Hey Parnelli, hows things going?
And good luck thouse who attempt this, its one heck of a challenge! ive still not got the time or the wheels to do it, I will give it a crack one of these days...perhaps an overly-powered Muscle car? high speed oversteer anyone?

Hey how are you? IT's been a long time where you been? How come you only still have 2 reviews on your site? kidding.

Well I was thinking of giving it up, but I sold my Denso Supra to tune the 156, and every time I try another race, the 156's challenge keeps haunting me... :scared:

Falcon, nice site, but I dont like the font and background combination much.. too hard to read. :P

edit LMFAO BUGATTI DILDO! XD nicee

Yeah im workin on it still Mcubed, glad you like it...hehe yeah, but its a good point - who seriously would buy a car called the Fetish? Venturi get your act togetehr!

And Parnelli, i know its been a while hasnt it? Loads of coursework, new partner, means ive had no time to play GT...though I HAVE been doing rather a lot of drag racing on NFS Prostreet :D but imma get writing again soon.
On topic...im thinking would a fast Corvette be able to win this?

A question about thread title:
The word Slow is very relative to many more things than just power.
So, if I take a 900 BHP beast and limits it's max speed to like 200km/h isn't it
in the terms of slowness better archievement for this challenge than the 156 for example?

Let me get this straight..you're saying you would mess with gears, making them shorter, thereby getting a lower top-end? I'm not sure if that would be a better challenge or not..after all, the 900 horsepower beast could still accelerate like mad out of corners.

I think the whole thing about the 156 is that it's front-drive, which creates some very awkward situations. Making a 900 horsepower car have shorter gears (assuming that's what you're suggesting) seems artificial, wheras driving a front-drive car in a race against GT1s requires more actual skill.

^^ I understand that, but you're still dealing with front tires that wear out fast, additional understeer, etc. The Alfa 145 also is a great front-drive...I remember having a blast in that one.

The slowest I've ever won in is a race modified Aston DB6. The 156 being able to win race modified doesn't seem believable, specially considering that you're facing off against Le Mans cars. Come to think of it, it might be possible to win it with a race modified Accord Sedan, I'm sure someone's done that before...
