Reminders/Updates for Tomorrow's Race
Qualifying
We'll have qualifying as normal tomorrow night, but we'll need to be extra strict concerning punctuality. Specifically:
- If you aren't on the long straightaway ready for your hot lap at 9:00 EST, you will be ineligible for qualifying (everyone who doesn't qualify will start at the back, ordered according to current standings - D1 drivers first, then D2)
Also, remember that if you go off track at any time during qualifying, you are to pull off to the side of the road and wait for qualifying to end. Last week we had an incident where a driver went into the pits during qualifying, which is not allowed.
Blue Flag Etiquette
Did anyone watch the F1 race at Interlagos this weekend? Don't be like
this guy.
More specifically, if you're being lapped (i.e. you have a blue flag) you should not do either of these things:
- Block/Contest for Position - The drivers on the lead lap should be able to safely assume that any lapped cars won't put up a fight
- Pull Off the Track - There's no need to dramatically pull off the road to make room for drivers on the lead lap. It is their responsibility to make a clean pass
