SNAIL Holiday Event Discussion

If it's 14 now , I'd expect at least two more random show-ups. You should have the plan set and ready for two rooms.
Here's my plan I will have a room open at 8:45 if 14 people show up by 9:15. I will ask @racingchamp30 to open another room and send the D4-5's to his room after he messages me he's open. By 9:30 I will start the first race and take my normal pictures after qualifying and after the races (I would request that someone in the second do the same). Then based on the overall finishes I will combine the 2 rooms based on overall times to get an overall ranking. :)

I'd love to be able to use two different cars with almost equal specs. Maybe three or four 20 minute races, each with one forced pit stop. All spec of course. One track or more?

All I can think of for now but I'm interested.

Oh! And one other thing we don't normally do on Sunday, time change. Let's race all day so morning, mid-day, afternoon, and late-afternoon, maybe even sunsets. Night racing is too hard with the lights not working so well in the mirrors.

If u need any help testing let me know, 3,4 cars same pp would be fun. Maybe a car with 2-6 lower pp can be used by higher division.

Spa would be a great track to spread out the classes. But Eau Rouge affects the controller users A LOT so...

Also, custom tracks are notorious for horrible lag. And once you set a room up with one, you can't change the track.

I have these two cars in mind. They have same HP, but the one on the left has more down force and a bit better handling. It therefore will help with the cornering, but on the long straight I found it 1 or 2 mph slower on maximum speed. So, this will definitely help the slower divisions in the corners while not losing much on the straight. Both handle very well on Harder Prime (SM) and Softer Option (SS) Tires. (There will be a tire change required during the race.)

The one on the left can be painted. The other one not, but you can change and paint the wheels. That will actually help with the identification between the two "classes". If you see a colorful car, it is D3 or D4. If you see a white car it is D1 or D2. So, the D3/4 drivers has to make sure to choose bright colors. (@TEX36 will be the only exception..... LOL)

I'll set out the rules and regulations later this week. I'll open a room tomorrow night and we can test on some tracks. I actually have a pretty good idea where I want to run this event, but I can't spill all the beans at once.

Signups to follow. Good to see there is positive reaction and interest so far.

@src_ej6 , stay away from these ones with you Prize A selection..... :odd:

It sounds fun. For me it will depend on my work schedule - will it probably be the normal 9:30ish time?

I like the idea of a one stop race just to shake things up. My only gripe is multiple tire compounds will just make things overly complex. Maybe have the D1 & D2 guys on SM and D3 & D4 on SS? Otherwise looks cool and I'll probably be there.

Hay penguin... shut up!
In GT1 we have mandatory tire compounds changes with a minimum amount of required use on the harder compound. Guess how many penalties I have had to give out for failure to change tire compound OR use them for the minimum... twice! and we've been doing it for almost a year now.

Yes, (and I'm just being devil's advocate now) but this is a single one-off holiday event. There will be people that haven't done anything like that before, let alone get a lot of practice in for this. Remember, "Keep It Simple Stupid" :)

Either way I will join and probably have fun.

Are you seriously stating that anyone here will find those regulations too complex?
