I’ve seen lots of unstable car activity in the last two days. I hope that’s not going to happen tonight.

Lots of jitters, not real bad lag but enough to make it uncomfortable to get too close to another car.

Event #1 Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good afternoon to everyone who will be attending tonight's opening event at Daytona International Road Course. We have a full grid confirmed for tonight with 1 Reserves available. @fruitloop31 is our PS4 reserve for tonight and will be our only driver racing on the PS4 console in the event a spot opens up. I raced with him the other night and he looked very smooth and solid. Aside from him, all other drivers are on PS5 consoles. I'd ask all drivers to make sure they are running a wired connection in any way possible and to clear their network cache before entering the race room to avoid any issues. It seems the online lobbies run based on the slowest running system and/or internet speed in the room....basically throttles everyone down which appears to cause the instability we have experienced in the past. Let's try to head off any of these issues and optimize everything on our own ends that we can to help. For those with faster internet service speeds (over 200mbps+), it seems there are less issues with stability. For those on slower internet speeds or forced to run wirelessly, their network appears to be affected more when other in the household are online and pulling from the service speed. See this link to optimize your network priority for the gaming, and try to reduce internet usage (if possible) elsewhere in the house when racing.

Enough about that.

Pace looks great across the field, and with the varying levels of driver skill and power levels, the racing should be active and intense. Get them final practice laps in, and be ready for tonight.

Reminder to all drivers:
All confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 grid spots, and we have 24 drivers on the roster, 17 for tonight. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est. Any drivers who are confirmed to attend, and fails to appear, will be placed on automatic Reserve for their next confirmed event.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Daytona Road Course:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line...they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Chicanes and S Section of track: There is no written rule for these sections, but I'd ask all drivers to exercise caution and good judgement through these sections. Know when you have lost the position when approaching these section, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to gp side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT ;)
3.) See this Event Details Link and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for Daytona Road Course.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.

Good Luck to all drivers, and see everyone at 9pm est tonight.

The inside driver must leave an entire car width of room on the track surface. This means that given the curbing is track surface, room must be given to allow the outside driver to keep all 4 wheels on the track. He must be allowed that room.
Perfect clarity. At the start and in-race we are going to see 3-wide into T1. Seen it already. Inside squeeze hits the wall to dead stop. Outside push into the grass.

I also found stay very high coming to turn one that low line transition upsets the car very bad under brakeing
I did precisely that in practice race last night taking out 3-4cars in the process.

Another reason to be cautious with the low line is that invisible concrete post at the boundary of track and pit exit. It will throw you sideways right into traffic. For those who weren’t already aware or weren’t part of the Michelin series it is at this orange square (those are bits flying off my car from contact with the post):

I have seen some jittters from a driver I know to be on a wireless connection, and I heard that there were some issues last night while there were a few PS4 drivers in lobby. It does seem internet speed and connection type play into how well the ps4 and ps5 talks to one another as well as the difference in processing speeds. For anyone on a slower internet or wireless (shouldn't be), see this link:

The consensus is that this helps quite a bit for these issues.

Do we need to form teams before the race tonight?
Teams can be formed after tonight, just any points that could have been earned tonight won't count and would be the drop score. Unless you can get yourself and team members to apply a team decal to your cars and send profile shots over to me before 9pm est, you'll have to wait to be scored in round two onwards...tic tock

@fruitloop31 had room issue with Niagara. Gonna keep it with the 15 we have since were running stable. I would like to do more testing over the next month to see how things run and then we take it from there. Thanks for being available.

Your entry is accepted, but you will need to change your number as 88 is already taken. Be sure to edit your livery and resubmit a side profile shot of the driver side over the white background. See spotters guide in the 3rd post to very number availability. Also, just to double check, you are on a hardwired connection to your ps5, correct? Assuming so, we will still need to verify your stability with the distance your are from the States. I will coordinate with you to do so. I have you confirmed for event #2 pending the stability test. Welcome aboard.

In regards to the livery, the style looked great, but have a look at tab 3.2 in the first post for the livery decal requirements and placement and edit accordingly. I will have a class verification to you shortly so you can edit the class color details on the livery before sending it over.

Confirming for round 2.

Fun race and stable lobby but I couldn't do anything with my 491 hp build. I was a sitting duck on the straights even with close slipstream. Looking forward to the next round, hopefully I'll get some precious performance points going my way ;) I was running mid 45 and never was able to reach the 1:44.

Once again, huge thanks to Nova for setting this series up !

16 drivers confirmed for Event #2 on January 12th as of this post. All additional confirmations will be accepted as reserve drivers for the event in the priority order confirmed.

Got you marked, you are 17th confirmed....and will be our 1st reserve to bump in for any absence or laye drops. Be ready as anything from a late call out or connection issue will fall your way. Great racing and pace last night with the uphill battle you had with that handicap. I'd expect to see a much different result at Watkins Glen. See you for practice sessions in the coming weeks.

@Worst_Driver
Edit, scratch that...mis-counted. You are our 16th confirmed...you are our last guarunteed spot for Event #2. Next driver to confirm will be our 1st reserve. See you on track.
