So GT7 is now really on its way, when and what can we expect?

I don't have any expectations for GT7. If I decide to get it I will enjoy it for what it is. To be honest I have been at least slightly disappointed with every GT since GT2 because there is always something that I feel should have been in the game. But that's just me.

Hence likely the main reason why GT6 was pushed out at the end of the PS3's life to buy some time to work on GT7. GT6 had no business coming out when it did. It was outdated out of the gate, but in doing so they were able to add a few features to GT5 and call it a new GT game and hope that it would keep everyone occupied until GT7 came out.

Add a few features, 🤬 they removed a few features and called it a new game!

9000 cars (all cars from the entire GT series, every race car from Shift 2 Unleashed, every car from Forza 2, 3, 4, 5, Horizon and Horizon 2, every car from the Ridge racer series, every concept/future/fake render car, every race car from 1980-2020, all disciplines, every car and livery from Grid, Grid 2 and Grid Autosport. No Porsches though)
All promised features and improvements, and all features from previous GT's (although we still have these "standard quality" cars by then)
All of the cars in the game in arcade mode
All customization parts, methods, upgrades from all racing games that exist, plus all cars can get tuned up to 3000HP
Better sounds
Very fast loading times at the blink of an eye
PSVita version

(This is full of sarcasm)

I expect to download a PS4 firmware the morning of GT7 digital release, and hope it doesn't brick the system.
I set my expecations low on GT7, but I know to be wow eyed at the photorealism of the tracks and surroundings. The new Nur will feel more immersive. I loved photorealism in games, though really bad frame rates in the past, it really adds to the experience. I think GT7 will be a pioneer where we will have this realism coupled with the natural framerate.

I also expect that the sounds will be better, but something will be awkwardly wrong with them. setting my expectations low.

- ApeIntelligence
- Standard Cars
- Career Mode with 2 hours of gameplay
- Missing Course Maker
- Missing Tuning Ability
- Missing Variations of former tracks
- GPS Visualizer added to another japanese car & track 1% of world population can afford & visit.
- Grid Starts, Qualifying & Online Shuffle Racing removed with day 1 patch
- New Track "Sahara De La Sierra" announced to be featured "in a future update"
👍

For me most important thinks are AI and GTmode because I don't give 🤬 about PS+, online play should be free like on PS3 or PC. I pay console, pay game and then need to pay every month for online gaming, no thanks. Am old school gamer and enjoy playng game on Sega mega drive 2, Playstation, Nintendo 64, PS2 without online, so single player or spleetscrean is for me. Also didn't use PS3 for online play so much, few races in week... So PD bring GTmode like GT4 or GT2 and give as good AI so we without PS+ can have fun. Even creator would be fantastic!

If they gave us exceptional AI, a real offline career mode with a whole race weekend, flags, damage, a race engineer etc. and with the ability to create our own race series and hand pick the competition and included everything they were supposed to put in GT6, I think most people would be happy with just that.

We can expect a lot of hype and more disappointment. The features most desired by the community won't be there and some of the best features from previous versions will inexplicably be gone. PD is listening to the community now and acknowledging issues. A good start but it remains to be see whether or not PD will act to address them.

I could let myself go into my wishful mode and come up with a big list of all the things I'm DYING for GT to be but now I'll just say if/when GT launches it will be about the same game we have now. Great physics, fantastic car selection (as long as you aren't looking for many car models post 2004), no Porsche, bizarre AI (if the recent seasonals are anything to go by), vacant single player mode, the same limited arcade mode, still missing lots of old tracks from previous games, lots of GT4 era standard cars.. And in the end I just know I'll still be super hyped for it. Maybe I'm part of the problem.. :guilty:

There is a small part of me that believes PD can dig down and deliver a world changing GT VIDEOGAME experience but in this weird way I believe the videogame itself has taken a back seat to all of the things PD is branching out into. "Course maker? Yea we're still advertising it, it's in our hands but who knows when you'll get it! Now about that FIA online championship thing!" :indiff:

There is only ONE thing I know will happen. We will get a vague release window, the game will miss the release window and we won't see GT7 until at least 2017. You heard it here first :sly:

They are giving Dead Space 3 free this month. You get to keep them as long as you are PS+ member. I bought many for free although have no space to download. Games like Grid2 was also free which I did download. Automatic updates and cloud saves along with PSN store discount I would say 50$/year is very good. I fear that 60$ might come soon though lol

I don't expect anything! The only thing PD has to do is deliver a very very high quality game with improvements this community asks for already let's say 10 years :boggled:

The sheer incompetence to create something emerging and exciting on a racetrack is incredible and again they talk about standard cars (read porting over old features) from the old generations.

I can see a few positive notes as well. The evolvement of FIA and the coorperation with the industries but the problem that remains is that PD wants to do everything and on a scale they are unable to cope with. Just a receipe for another failure!

The GT doors stays firmly closed until they properly deliver!

An improved GT6, i guess?

By the way, since the track "Zahara de la Sierra" has yet to come, why do i have a sudden feeling that the track's sneak peek footage = GT7 engine sneak peek?

Maybe we'll get the answer in a future update.

I don't think we'll ever see a damage model in GT. Kaz doesn't want it and it doesn't matter to enough people to force them to put one in.

I'd llloooovvvveeee to see an event creator and it's possible that we'll see one but for now I think it's best not to speculate too heavily because then we'll have all of these expectations that came from nowhere that somehow PD will be at fault for if they don't have them in the game.

I expect GT6.5.

Graphics will be more consistent and better, if standard cars and tracks aren't on the screen.
The UI will be slicker but still clunky and without toggles for the animations, or any streamlining of consequence.
They'll pay lipservice to a better career mode and AI but it won't be up to snuff, although the diehards will go wild over it.
Online UI will be better but still no driver rating or licensing system.
Sounds will be improved but not realistic just louder and with more depth aka Senna F3 and the Redbull cars. At best a generic upshift/downshift will be added with a couple of generic turbo and other effects.
More cars and tracks but not most of the cars people really want as seen here.
I believe they'll overtax the PS4 right from the get-go with too many cars on track, probably 32, and it'll cause framerate and tearing issues.

I don't worry about the graphics as they are already stunning in PS3. The most important thing is the server quality of online game and AI 's competitiveness and the fun it gives

-New graphics engine to take advantage of PS4
-More consistent frame rate
-Better A.I.
-Better Engine Sounds
-200 new cars
-100 standard cars turned premium
-Few more tracks
-Some old tracks redone to look better
-More customization
-Livery Editor
-Course Maker
-Gallery turned into something like ForzaVista (get to walk around the room with your car and you can open the hood or go inside)
-32 cars on tracks
-better career mode
-all cars can be used in arcade
-random new feature

This would be great if GT7 had all of this, but it will probably only have half of it.

That would be pretty cool. I'm fairly positive that the sounds will be better and I'm pretty sure, if they stick with their current car and track models, that the 30-car grid is highly probable. I don't really think we need more cars although PD will include new ones for sure, but more tracks are always welcomed.

As Kaz says it seems more fantasytracks will come. But if they make coursemaker really good i think there will be plenty of fanmade tracks too.

I don't want to expect anything from GT7 that way I'll not get let down, and besides GT6 has been out 8 months and we are all talking about GT7. I want GT6 to be completed first.
