So, how was your day?

Fortunately, the last week or so has made for some very positive changes.

At work we had six new guys hired all just fresh from some basic army training. Turns out one of them is an absolute beast of a drummer who studied drums at university (equivalent of College to Americans), and is now in my brother's band. And that triggered my brother to decide that he wants to do original work because he doesn't like having to be someone else to do covers. And that means I can join the band as a singer now, so in the space of a week we have a band of good musicians. :D

And also at work, I've been struggling with all the practical work (I'm really not a hard labour sort of person, and it shows) and it's being realized that I'm actually too smart to be a labourer. So I'm going to be getting a new position in the business soon, so I'll be able to arrive home and not feel dead all the time. :D Probably won't be any pay rises, but I'm content with my current rates so yeah.

And to top it all off, over the last few weeks two songs have been released off of Edguy's new album that comes out later in April. So I am now in a band long term now, and I'm getting money, and one of my absolute favourite bands is releasing an album soon... Let's just say I'm a very happy chap right now. :D Even if I am bloody tired.

So far today has been good. Filled the new speaker stands with sharp sand and wired the back of the speakers properly. This has added a bit more space to the soundstage and added a little more natural level to the highs.

Off to a good start. Received a phone call last night that school was cancelled because of an incoming blizzard and this morning found out that work for me was cancelled, too. :D

Today is going great! I just remembered where I left my wallet, The car show is now less than a week away, and I just found a box of memories when I was cleaning out the closet.

Okay. I know it's a double post, but this is going to be long.

I dug through some more boxes, and found this old toy. This has been mine since... Forever. I can't remember a time so far back that I didn't have it.

I know, I know... "Lmao he still has a stuffed animal!" but this one is special. It had a pouch on the back, and when I was younger, I put all my treasures in there. Anything I found important. Me, and now you guys are the only people who know what young me found important.

These are my first ever winnings from an arcade. I also got a fake diamond ring for my Mom. I won them from a racing game. They had it rigged to where you got so many tickets based on your performance. I sucked, because those are all I got (and the ring).

I won this playing darts at a Halloween festival. So many stories to tell from there. I went as a Ninja, got scared half to death by a guy dressed as a Zombie, went on a "Haunted" bus ride along the walking trail of the park it was held at, and nearly puked on the ride that spins in a circle with a wheel in the center that you can spin to rotate your box.

The two teeth I had to get pulled. My previous dentist and close friend Doctor Thomas (Who unfortunately passed away from Cancer last August) had an underwater themed office, and he put the teeth in these.

Shockingly enough, I dug this out of a mud rut in the front yard of my old home. I thought it was odd that I'd find a seashell there, so I kept it.

A cane that a man standing outside of a Kmart gave me for donating to a charity called the White Cane.

This is a piece of gravel from the old park I used to go to. A flood took it out, and it was deemed too costly to be worth fixing, so I'm glad I kept it all this time.

A fossilized shark tooth. I used to be obsessed with sharks, and I was told I could keep one fossil out of the tellus science museum sand pits, so I chose this.

We also got to go gem panning in one of the rooms. I've long since forgotten what all the gems were called, but here they are.

It was nice to see all this stuff again. Maybe I'll stumble on that old bear in ten more years and get to remember those things again.

Heh, funny that, my old obsession with sharks (and subsequent horrible fear that haunts me to this day, thanks JAWS!) led me to get a rather large megalodon tooth, and a great white tooth.

It was pretty good. First day of my new job and I quite enjoyed it. Despite it being a rainy day and making it more difficult to simply clean cars, I found reconditioning to be gratifying to work in. I've always cleaned my own car...sometimes more often than my parents like, but having a job in detailing cars has interested me and only now I'm finally able to work in detailing. It's with a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership, so...I find it to be ok, despite my lack of...what you could say...interest in their products. Training's gone well and made some friends along the way. (nice to know someone else who appreciates wagons and the good old Japanese car days) Hoping to gain new skills and make enough to finally move out of the house!

Got to drive two brand new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee's (around the parking lot) and a 2014 Wrangler. First time driving a new vehicle that isn't...of the basic sort. (My brother's 2013 Suzuki SX4 is the newest car I've driven) Trying to get used to the whole joystick thing. X_x

During my lunch break today I realized how lame my day had been when I said "that made my day" about thinking I had 2 lollies left... But then finding out there was an extra being covered by another lolly, so I actually had 3 left... But then I saw a Mercedes SLS, so that made my day actually awesome. And then I got home and Edguy had released another snippet from the new album, so the day became even more awesome.

So two pies, two cans of Sprite, one bag of those Coca Cola bottle lollies, one Mercedes SLS for 5 seconds, earning money because of work, and just over half a minute of a new song from my favourite band afterwards... And I'm feeling pretty good.

Discovered the tunein app on the PS3 and, life is good.

It's like Spotify, only better.
No wait, it's not. They're two totally different things.
It's like Nokia Internet Radio.

So, I took the dogs for a walk. On my bike. Let that [lack of] logic sink in.

When I arrived at the park, the paths were mainly clear, except for some snow and ice patches. So, I kept riding, carefully so as to avoid falling.

Later on my attempted ride, I came to this:

There's normally a paved walkway there. Yes, yes it is water. Yes, there is thin ice on top. Yes, it is cold as 🤬 water.

So, I decided to turn around...

The annual Grand Ice Jam (it happens every year) had caused the river to overflow its banks... While I was on what immediately became an island.

The ONLY good side of today was that the dogs are now too tired to bother me... And the HOT SHOWER I TOOK WHEN I GOT HOME.

So, does anyone know how to dry shoes? Without them shrinking, coming unglued, or otherwise being destroyed?

Mom wouldn't approve of her towels smelling like goose poop... BUT, perhaps I can find one she doesn't want. :) Thanks
Didn't know you had that on there. Best bet would be to hose it off first, then do the towels. But no problem. Wipe them with a regular towel first to take off as much moisture as possible, then do the heated one.

She gave you them When you moved out didn't she? Lol just take one that's yours. Or are all towels in your apartment hers!

Well, not specifically the goose poop itself, but more rather just in the water in some concentration or another.
Then just hose them down and wash the lake water off, so that it's clean water.

Unless the shoes are leather, which hold smells really bad.

:odd: I'm still in college. I live at home to support my parents as they plan for their retirement and try to save.

But, I'm glad I can at least make a joke of it. I mean, what are the chances of me being on a hill as the ice jam overflowed the banks? I thought it was safe, it's like 20-30 feet above water level.

No, they're just running shoes. If worse comes to worse, and the smell remains, I'll probably end up tossing them. They really don't do anything anymore - they don't seal to keep your feet dry, they're not stylish, they're not comfortable, and they're not warm. They're basically useless for everyone, including even the homeless...

For tomorrow, I'm wearing my racing shoes. :ouch:

Oh? Lol

Power went out In class but last night was funny. My friend got drunk and passed out so we drew fat penises all over his money. We wnt to get breakfast at like 6am and the clerk noticed when she was counting. She didn't say anything but she laughed. So ****ing funny if you were there.

Interesting. I have a big exam tomorrow and like 6 assignments are due...

But, I may or may not end up driving/owning a WRX wagon exactly like my current one on Saturday. :D I must finish my assignments off to the best of my ability, pass the exam well, and get my 5M/T WRX... ;)

Got to drive the new Grand Cherokee diesel before the owner of the dealership did. Even though it was just around the parking lot...

Is there a "what did you drive today?" thread? Almost considering that for people who have jobs that involve cars, so I don't spam here. >_>

Other than that, it was a quiet day at work.

Pretty good. Finally have a job that I enjoy. Although there are some struggles...mainly due to height issues. Especially with this Ram.

My grandfather has a Ram almost identical to that, but a tad different. Averages about 14mpg in it with no spirited driving. It's actually very comfortable and rides very smoothly for a truck, pretty luxurious for an average truck but it definitely feels heavy.

Was getting ready for college this morning and I had a rather unpleasant experience. :scared: I was putting my socks on and I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my foot, at first I thought I stepped on something sharp but I didn't see anything, took my sock off and I seen a wasp fly out of it. That being said, I had been stung by a wasp that had been hiding in my sock! Never in my days has this ever happened to me, I never would have expected it ether. I got it taken care of though, I am thankful I am not allergic to them like my brother is and that it wasn't worse. Going to be more observant from on. Despite this happening, my day has been pretty awesome! :)

Just a friendly reminder to everybody, always check your socks.

Okay, I just typed and retyped a rant about 3 times trying to avoid making a multi-paragraph rant about how much of a moron one of the guys on site at work is... But I just can't not rant about it. I'll try and keep it short... Pretty much he overestimates my work abilities and expects me to be just as good of a worker as the other guys who have been doing it for years and years after only working for a month... In my first proper job. And starts shouting rudely when I'm unable to work as quickly as everyone else, and when I put on sunblock and offer it to other guys on site. I was meant to be digging at the time, but still. It was for health and safety reasons. And health and safety is extremely prominent in this work. And he singled me out today for the entire afternoon because I headed off with my brother do work on another site for about an hour (that would be understandably if my brother worked for another business... But he doesn't. So I was still working for the same business). I mean, he hates me, so I would have thought that me working on another site for awhile would have been a blessing for him, and you'd be right. It was, as it gave him more reason to bully at me. He's one of those people who after being out of school for like 15 years, still hasn't grown up.

Other than that, today was quite good. Saw a comically fat lady walking with some sort of top without a stomach on it, so her stomach was there for all the world to see. Saw a guy walk past with the meanest wedgie ever (and the creepiest eyes ever). And was amazed when for once, I saw a good looking girl walk past with mature clothing on, so not skirts that leaving me wonder if they were actually breaching the law on public indecency or not who the creepy workers always point out.
