People are so happy because they're not taking the time to think this through. More than likely the vast majority of this stuff will never truly see the light of day for anyone but a hacker, and the odds are that there are good reasons for that.

I agree with you about the good things found inside GT5. But really? I´m worried about what decisions PD will take after that notice.

To leave all this stuff thats never to see the light of day on the disc where its taking up HDD Space and Disk space? Doesnt sound like a very Kaz thing to do, being the "perfectionist" and all... It doesnt make sense. Its got to be there for a reason.

This is how software development works. If you add something and then decide to remove it it's easier to just blank it out rather than remove the code entirely and risk creating bugs. It's not like this takes up a lot of space, it's just code, a few kilobytes big.

Pretty much every game out there will be the same with unused lines of code in them, it's just how it works. It doesn't mean it's left there ready to be activated one day, it's just easier to leave it there. It's nothing to do with being a perfectionist, it's not like Kaz actually does the coding himself.

I just wish people will see this post and realise that these discoveries are simply left-over code and will not be implemented in a future DLC, or at least activated now that sorg has discovered them, and not indications of a Spec 3.0. The only spec I see in this thread is speculation and far too much of it if you ask me.

So the sky isn't falling.

At least not until the 21st...

Haha, yeah lets not forget that.

You cant prove its left-over code, thats just another speculation, no?

Technically maybe but it's more realistic speculation than "OMGZ this is a hidden spec 3.0 update, DLC next week". To anyone who knows about this sort of thing it's obvious that it's miscellaneous leftover code.

You also said it didn't make sense and had to be there for a reason, I was giving you the logical reason it was there.

Yeah, but we can dream. D: *thinks of the Bentley*

People are going to get more and more restless with each day that goes by as they wait for an update that might not happen. It will be pretty amusing to say the least.

I guess left over code is a logical reason, but not being as in the know in this area, it just didn't make sense. I'm still placing my money on this code being there as an unlikely Spec 3, or a GT6 test bed despite the left over code theory seeming to be the most likely...

But this is stuff on the disc (as far as I can tell, OP hasn't been 100% clear on that). Why would leftover stuff on the disc suddenly be added in a new spec, why not in one of the previous 20 odd updates? It's always been sitting there, it's just that it's only been discovered now. It could have been discovered on day 2 and then it'd be "1.02 update?" speculation. By now it seems clear they're not going to activate this code.

The only part that does indicate anything in the future is the changing on the ID for those two standard cars but even then they may have scrapped them and saved them for GT6 instead. Everything else appears to be leftovers.

Exactly but what disc is he using, if it is one with spec 2 preloaded it could have been added more recently and not be left over code. What we need to know is if this code is on both original GT5 discs and GT5 discs with spec 2 on e.g. the academy edition.

Even Spec 2.0 was a long time ago now, why would they add several random things like this in that update then never activate them?

No just no...
Do you remember the C7 corvette prototype being discovered?

Someone discovered it and soon it was released (not saying it will happen for sure but basically hopes for new fun stuff and improvements)

The C7 was already open during screen. Just needed to be wait for someone after a cople of minuts to show up.

The hidden ticket was encrypted and discovered by a hacker by other ways.

I'm pretty sure sorg uses the XL disc, or even the Academy edition, since it has most of the updates I think.

Sorg, don't let this thread die! :nervous:

Did you pick this up from GT Legends (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GT_Legends) or just trying to cause confusion?

I vote, confusion. :guilty:

👍 I smell a troll here as well.

Damn, why did you have to post this on frontpage Jordan, this was a nice thread until it became utterly overcrowded and polluted by speculations, thousands of questions to Sorg (even if those are reasonable, it's just gone over the top now), so if you look for the actual hidden stuff Sorg has found you need to search the complete thread...

You could just go to sorg's profile and sort his latest posts...Don't have to look at thread at all. Link below.
