Vitamin C "Friends Forever" it really makes me think about what i use to do. It explaines life so well. If u have time just download it its a pretty good song.

"The red strokes" - Garth Brooks .
That is the most powerful love-song I have ever heard .
The lyrics combined with the emotion put in by the singer truly make my skin crawl .

A lot of the music that affects me is music, no words like the Gary Moore instrumental version of "The Messiah Will Come Again" by Roy Buchanan, "Suspension" by Jeff Beck, "The Ballad of Bill Hubbard" by Roger Waters, along with classical music like Barbers "Adagio" and in particular Henryck Gorecki's "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs".

Most songs are specific to a moment in time, a period of emotional turbelance, be it good or bad. For me a song by a Japanese multi-instrumentalist, Kitaro, called "Lady of Dreams" with lyrics by Jon Anderson of Yes is one such song. It is particularly difficult for me to listen to as the words seem to echo so accurately my feelings for an ex-girlfriend. The songs get hotwired, burnt into the brain during such emotional highs and lows.
Others are more cerebral such as "Sugar Mice" by Marillion that reminds me of my father. Some are so strangely compelling that they move you even if you're not sure why, such as Johnny Cash's "Hurt".

It's all pretty subjective, we all react differently, but no one is immune.

The only one I can think of is definately Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of your life) I almost actually cried when this song was played in one of the last seinfeld episodes...

Good Lord. Here's a bump and a half for ya. Careful you don't choke on the dust on this one. ;)

New nominee: Tool - Pushít (Live). That may seem odd, but it's associated with a recent heartbreak of mine. :(

Amazing Grace: This song was played at my grandmothers funeral so whenever I hear it i start to get all misty-eyed.

Lee Greenwood - Proud To Be an America. Whenever I hear this song, It gives me goosebumps. Very powerful song.

Motorhomes - Into the night

Saw the musicvideo for it.. about a dog sent into a shuttle around earth, but something goes wrong and it crashes. Very sad! I reminds me of my beloved labrador who got sick and was put to sleep.

Getting real emotional now.. just thinking about it!

there is a song, "its so hard to say good bye to yesterday " it is on the Movie Lethal Weapon 3 when its is the funeral for the 15 yeal old kid that got killed....I think its boyz 2 men..or something like that

Puff daddy - I'll be missing you

This song reminds me of 2 friends that died in a car accident 3 years ago (May 6, 2001). They were both 19. One of the most horrifying accidents I have ever seen in my life. I still can't believe it happend.
:(

I haven't had to suffer that much. So there aren't many songs that get me all like that, except for one. The Streets - Dry Your Eyes That song matches my current situation almost exactly. There are some really good songs mentioned though.

Pssft... shiyet, almost all 80's songs and some 90's.

Specific are...

Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now
Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart
Cutting Crew - I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight
Dan Hartman - I Can Dream About You
Erasure - Always
Naked Eyes - Always Something There To Remind Me
Phil Collins - A Groovy Kind Of Love
Portrait - How Deep Is Your Love
Selena - Dreaming Of You

There's probably more...

Courtesy of my first true love...

Cat Stevens - Father and Son.

I don't really have a great reason why, it's just a song I remember listening to with my dad when I was very young. It's a great song, though, as is a lot of Cat Stevens.

Stabbing Westward - I Remember
Muse - Blackout

The last one is the hardest, it's what I broke down to before ending my relationship with my last girlfriend. The first one is the one that always reminds me of her too.

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World - do I really need to explain?

NIN - Something I can never have

If there was ever a song that made you want to kill yourself - that's the one.

(Has anyone else heard this one?)

I gotta say Fade to Black by Metallica has sum rlly touchin lyrics ( sounds like sum1 on the verge of suicide).

And REM's everybody hurts, thts a well emotional song:(

Well, nothing like a good old thread revival. Anyway some new additions from me:

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
P.O.D - Eternal
The Feelers - Forest

Black & Blue - Counting Crows
It's just such a sad song, I don't know why it hits me the way it does.

Holy Moley, this is old! Oh well, better than making a new one, I guess.

I have! I love NIN!

Foo Fighters - "Everlong"(Acoustic version)

Country songs are the only ones that get me.

The one about the Private who died in Vietnam, and his ghost saved the guy who bought his Corvette years later. that one always gets me.

Letters From Home, always gets me. Because i was in the sandbox for a year. really hits me in the heart.

Our National Anthem, was probably the first song to every get me watery eyed. still does, and always will.

"Raining in Baltimore" - Counting Crows

Probably the saddest song I've ever heard. Warning: only listen to it in October, November an December! You know, when it's raining and the leaves fall down...

Cyndi Lauper - Time after time
Greenday - Time of your life
Hanz Zimmer - You're so cool, this is from the soundtrack to True Romance and I love it !!!

Genesis - Jesus he knows me
Whitney Houston - I will always love you
Bryan Adams - Everything I do (from Robin Hood film)
