You can change the race setting in arcade mode after the race or probably before it as well. Seems like being able to move quickly back to racing is the point of this. This includes course conditions(time of day for the race), selecting your car, selecting the course and penalties. Wow, that's great. The physics seems to have been given a bit more bite, the Beta felt a little floaty, this demo cars are weighty and will try to kill you when you disable the nannies. Drove the AMG GT3, yea it's nothing like it was in the beta, it doesn't want to turn and while stable, you will still lose control if you aren't careful. ABS 1 everything else set to professional. This game is going to be a joy just like GT5 was, minus the shabby physics online.
Yeah I was about to say, there's so much more weight to the MX-5 that I just took for a spin. Wow. This is gonna be interesting!

I'm about to break out my wheel, driving on pad right now since some people are still asleep in my house. Bet it'll feel awesome.

EDIT: Oh wow I just noticed that the hands of your driver shake with the car when you're moving. That's a great little detail.

These cars will bite you in the arse though if you aren't careful. So much more weight in them since the Beta.

So I guess we can't buy cars and use livery editor on such. How do we obtain new cars outside of mileage exchange?

Not available in this version, it says.

Beta's up in AUS, I'm currently doing the driver tests. Once you reach the present icon it does a GT3 style randomly chosen car. I got a Peugeot 208 GTI. First 8 challenges are only ones available

Win them from the driving school there are two cars on each tier, I'm heading to my first set of cars now. Not even sure you can buy anything at all, think you can only win them since you can only transfer over the money anyway(1 million credit max). Will find out more as we play it for these four days or deep testing.

Livery Editor is available, but I haven't tried painting my original free car yet. Will get back to you once I try that.

Lol, PD are just too funny. They went and brought back the GT3 rotating prize car wheel for the Driving School rewards, talk about waxing nostalgic. PD definitely trying to position this as GT3 was on PS2. I think they might be on to something so far, time will tell if it can really make waves. I'm loving this so far, was sleepy until I saw that the demo was going live at 3AM and by 2:30am ET I was already in and playing the game. Good show PD, Good Show!

Livery Editor time with my GT86 prize car. Ugh LIvery Editor needs to be a bit more intuitive, I don't like having to get into the car I want to make a livery for, let me select the car when I get in the editor, which makes more sense. Not sure but I think you can paint stock wheels, although my GT86 isn't the stock one, I can paint the wheels in the editor. You can also apply your PSN name to the car.

Plays good with pad and G25.

Looks great.

Forcefeedback is really nice.

Arcade races can be done :)

I think the sound is good enough but AC an PC2 are way beyond that.

As far as the racing : also in that department, rivals feel more alive.

Had a quick 15 mins before work. Completed the first three license tests and then had a daily race. Didn't have time to qualify so started near the back and didn't realise I hadn't turned assists off. So the game was braking for me and all sorts

Still managed to finish third

Some of the driving standards in the race were appalling.

Stress over here. Too much new content and features to discover and in between all the rewards popping up. I just donated my pitcrew new outfits and helmets. Obviously Max Orange :D:yuck:.
That photo/scapes mode. And did we all notice the extra DLC backgrounds are FREE* (we Dutch like that)

* when the full game releases and not available in this beta/demo yet. But still enough content to play around with.

So with my CSW crapping out on me, so having no FFB. I did a couple of Arcade races on Professional, with expert settings, with just having TCS on 3, and ABS default. I did also equip Super Soft Racing Tires, on the Mercedes. Gr. 3 at Dragon Trail. Also did an Arcade race on the oval circuit. Those two races at Professional level, got me to level 7, with the help of the rewards.

Very weighty driving feel, cars can definitely bite you if you're not careful. Having said that, I just completed Stage 1 of the challenges, the last being a 2 lap AI race and it was epic driving! Also got daily reward for mileage so that's 3 prize cars so far. Those plus the one already gifted is 4, leaving another 4 to come from daily rewards and the remaining Stage 6 challenges.

Time to head upstairs and work now (yes I work from home mostly, hehe!)

2nd Impression after covering 100 miles (and using a 133 liters of fuel  :D) in a variety of Arcade and Time trial events using a couple different cars.

The replays alone do it for me. Being able to watch decent camera work makes it fun to kick back and relive a race ;)

On second stab the sounds are OK - I think what they have gone for is muffled ear plug under helmet - at least that is what I say to myself and then it doesn't bother me.

As long as I can save my progress and have access to most of the features as a non-online racer then I will be happy with this title.

Still beats spending $2000 on travel, tyres, fuel and lodgings for an out of town track day in real life :)

*edit*

Now I am doing work on the laptop prepping for the day (another work from home'er here) :) with the big TV playing the screen saver - simply stunning.

I may never turn off the PS4 LOL - screen after screen of car porn!

Sportsmanship rating still seems to have some issues.

Had my first sport race. Getting green markers occasionally until someone hits me in the back and puts me sideways and I get a down marker for that, got the jump on someone in the chicane and came out ahead of them, they try to pit manoeuvre me and I get a decrease for that.

2 incidents, both of which had me get hit in the rear and overall I was marked down for the race.

I really like the theory of the Sportsmanship Rating but it still requires some work as it did during the Closed Beta.

Had a quick play with the livery editor, looks like it will take a little getting used to in order to really get the best out of it. Initial impressions are that it looks very powerful though, once we get SVG upload options as well we should be able to get some really good stuff out of it. Managed to make something pretty reasonable in about 10 minutes learning as I went. Saving seems not to be working just yet though.
