There's your incentive to improve your qualifying times. During the beta, the top couple buckets of racers tended to be very clean. Manage to get up toward the front of the pack and you get some of the best online racing available.That's a horrifying thought given the demolition derbies I've been involved in with the demo.
Judging by the wide spread of times seen in what I'd call the "second tier" of competitors, it shouldn't be hard for a half-decent driver to get away from the wreckers. Especially once the full game is out and you get a week or two for the rankings to settle people where they belong.
Not that disasters don't happen in the faster groups. Everyone eats it from time to time.
