I left the application and it completely erased everything. Even parts that were autosaved. It recohnized that I have done events, but erased my earnings. Now I can't get the money from those events. PD FIX YOUR GOD DAMN SERVERS YOU ****S.
You're getting angry at a free demo that's soul purpose is to stress test the servers for 4 days. Save your fury for elsewhere. Shh

My only complaint is how server disconnects impact all functionality.

If you are in a section then you continue in that section, but no progress is saved. If you quit the game, you lose the progress. I have tested this already.

If you stay at the main menu and wait - try the red "Reconnect to Server" infinity symbol, every now and again. Like now - it reconnected. Then the red infinity symbol becomes the Save button.

Now you can manually save. But it appears if you do not do a function that kicks off Autosave, you might lose progress.

While the game is offline, you do lose progress.

Perhaps that is a demo limitation - the way some games don't save in demo. Perhaps in demo the local cache is disabled. Or this could be an anti-cheat feature - who knows. But if this is how the retail version behaves, expect a lot of people to lose progress even if their Internet connection goes down.

This is the only thing that bothers me,hopefully it is just an issue with the demo. The fact i wasnt able to do anything with the game when disconnected from the server does bother me a little.I work long hours,as do a lot of people, coming home and looking forward to a session on GTS then finding the server is down for a couple of hours for what ever reason would be a major pain for me.
Hopefully all other functions are available offline in the full game, looking forward to release day but even so its not the gran turismo i remember.
Just my opinion.

The server issue is the only thing that bothers me with the demo. I totally understand the down-time and stress-testing but having no option to save locally is a bit of a mystery!

Loving the game though! :)

Yeah I had the "maintenance" message come up last night after a couple of arcade races, and then "you must be connected to the network". That latter message persisted until this morning so I had to restart the PS4 and lose a little bit of progress/credits. Really not good, and as people have said, imagine getting gold on an endurance only to find you've been disconnected and can't reconnect unless you switch on and off again... They really need local saving and a form of validation in such cases.

Awesome racer though, loving it too!

Anyone know what the races are gonna be for tonight? Wanna see what I'll be driving tonight and where.

I'm not sure there's anything in the genre that looks better?? YMMV of course. It runs smooth too.

Nobody is doing Rallying much justice tbh, since Richard Burns Rally, the industry has just turned out average efforts which haven't pushed the genre along by much. I think to remove Rallying from GTS would be just more reasons for fans to justify not buying this version. With so many fans not sticking with the franchise since 4/5/6, I'm not sure that would be a healthy thing for anyone. Players or P.D.

Forza looks better during gameplay , at least the enviroments . Car models and lightning are better in GT but overall Forza is the winner . However GT Sport improved massively in the sounds department while FM7 cars sound worse than FM4 .
What GT Sport seems to lack is tracks , it's unaccetable that SMS with less budget can double the track count compared to Kaz games .

Would Sports Soft tires work better for the feeling you guys are after?
In real life the mx5 would be on comfort hard compound or something similar in game. And is a lot easier to drive than whats being served up here.

The sport tyres fitted in game should be equivalent of a track day tyre not a bag of marbles. Even at low speed this thing handles like a barge around corners

After I played FM7, PC2 and GTS I think PC2 is overall better than GTS and FM7 even for graphics. Environment details (tarmac, grass, trees etc...) is not good on GTS and seems so static. Only replay is better (more cinematics) in GTS. Physics, handling, collision etc... in GTS are the same as in previous GT

Here's my 2 cents..
I've been extremely skeptical about this iteration of GT. Last GT I played was 5, but the last one I've enjoyed was GT4.
IMO, this one has the feeling, the high gloss polish of the GT4. The moment it loaded it sent me back to the past, but in a good way.
I think they've made the right call to downsize the car collection, and focus on the quality instead. Looking forward to this one.

Same for me :(
I have gold in the first line of school and the first line of missions
When I restart the demo just first three gold school where saved and the rest was lost

Found the demo lots of fun.
N E update on exactly what items and how many (much) will be transferable to the full game.
Quoted previously;
"Elements transferable to full game (TBC)
1. Cars
2. Currency and Experience Points
3. Driver Profile, including Sportsmanship and Driver Ratings"

Thanks in advance

Yep, and while it's a demo and to be expected to a degree, will it behave the same in the final game? I hope not, because you could lose connection to the server for any number of reasons. That would be it's single biggest failing for me. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, totally agree on tracks. I've always supported Kaz and the studio, but I'm quite worried for the future with this title. It seems that many long-term fans have been worried about things that either aren't in GTS (stuff removed from prev versions), or, is included but really as a bare feature/experience.

Tracks was the deal breaker for me. I want to believe that Kaz knows that the content (cars and tracks) is not large enough to keep racing purists 100% happy. It doesn't help me when I see him in interviews, and he doesn't actually answer a question directed at him lol. I don't use games in any other genres, so cars and tracks is the only thing that stops boredom over time. I will not commit to GTS, until there has been an official announcement. But, even that being said, I want action and not words. The promise of a feature or expansion won't cut it for me any longer. I'll wait until track content is being created and launched. As GTS stands, I'd be bored within 3 months of GTS, due to its small day one state. Tracks are the key to open up the whole experience for me personally.

With much work done on so different areas of the game to make it a complete experience for everyone (scapes, e-sports, livery editor, etc), it appears content suffered as a result. Which, for a driving game, I think is far from ideal. Some ppl feel that P.D don't listen much to its fan-base. But, with so many ppl walking away from the franchise over the years, maybe sales revenue will help times change. I think they're more likely to notice a lack of $ and act, compared to voices. The sad part about ppl leaving after GT4, is that lobbies in GTS are going to be less full of really passionate ppl. That's not good for GT as a franchise.

Hopefully we'll get (those who want it) great news on future dlc in the not too distant future. It's nowhere near large enough as it stands. When you view GTP resources for track content on the last couple of titles, it reinforces my own views to me.

Enjoy the demo peeps

I think the demo was the right choice . I think it will sell well thanks to PS4 popularity . Though , this is an arcade game because handling seems more realistic in Forza to me even if they are not simulators .

Well, as an old Gran Turismo fan, who has gotten more and more dissapointed with the last few Gran Turismo games, I tried the demo yesterday.
Fast first impression (this is my opinion!) Looks are great, sound is gotten bit better, cars and tracks are very low number on offer

If I think I'm right, this is the final game, but with closed stuff. Probably when you buy the game it only downloads the new stuff/adds and stuff to open the closed menu's.

Game looks (playing on a SDR 4K 55'') and plays good though. Although I'm not convinced nowadays, this will make it sell. The competition is fierce.
I agree with on the car numbers and track numbers, there's too little content. I'm getting a GT6 deja vu all over again, where they promised a lot, delivered a little and then delivered a little more after a very long time.... the annoying online save is what bothers me very much though... this means when Gt server down, no play for anyone.

PD released an in game news post staying that offline activities like arcade mode would still be available during maintenance and such in the full game, but not with the beta due to it's nature of needing to be a stress test.

Impressions are a lot more positive than I thought. Probably because a lot of people had low expectations. Knew since the beta that there was a lot of fun to be had with this title.

Online is fun . Did pole by 0.400 but my race pace wasn't good as well , i finished the race 3RD . They should do something for lapped cars though but races seem cleaner than Forza .

Had the same, restarted again and all gold was back and out of nowhere was gifted this: (just whilst sitting in menus)?!?!

I put in a few hours online last night and I must say this game functions sooooo much better than Pcars2. The FFB is a bit numb but that's nothing terrible. I must've done 12 online races and had a great, clean, fun time. There's people on this forum that are better at composing reviews than me but I must say I love this so far. However, not being able to get into the options menu to shut off the need for speed club music is really grinding on my nerves...... I tried 50 times last night to get in and I got an error message then booted every time. I tried restarting the PS4, shutting down the application, restoring licenses, even deactivated and reactivated my PS4... Still had to listed to garbage music while I raced :ouch: Also, I can't upload video from my GTS on my PS4 share, I can save it, but not upload. So to get this race I had to transfer to USB then to computer, then upload. But I love it all the same, can't wait for the full release.

Plays good with pad and G25.

Looks great.

Forcefeedback is really nice.

Arcade races can be done :)

I think the sound is good enough but AC an PC2 are way beyond that.

As far as the racing : also in that department, rivals feel more alive.
Hey MarcoM

How did you get the G25 to work. I have seen a few work-arounds but would be good hear how you got it running on the PS4

The wife will kill me if another wheel turned up. She is still in a mood after I bought the PS4 and preorder for GTS :ouch:

Cheers
