Chill out and be rational. It's not like you already spend on this open beta. There are network issues yes and that's just normal when thousands of people wants to connect at the same time, but it doesn't mean the game is bad. Why not play other game and come back when everything is sorted out.

My only complaint is how server disconnects impact all functionality.

If you are in a section then you continue in that section, but no progress is saved. If you quit the game, you lose the progress. I have tested this already.

If you stay at the main menu and wait - try the red "Reconnect to Server" infinity symbol, every now and again. Like now - it reconnected. Then the red infinity symbol becomes the Save button.

Now you can manually save. But it appears if you do not do a function that kicks off Autosave, you might lose progress.

While the game is offline, you do lose progress.

Perhaps that is a demo limitation - the way some games don't save in demo. Perhaps in demo the local cache is disabled. Or this could be an anti-cheat feature - who knows. But if this is how the retail version behaves, expect a lot of people to lose progress even if their Internet connection goes down.

No, the closed beta was meant to test the servers, which is why only the online portion was available and only during certain times. Again, i was involved with the closed beta...

It was also much smaller then 43 GBs. This is the complete game that they locked out 90% of. The game is done. I would almost guarantee that anyone who has this demo and preordered the digital version wont be redownloading the game. Just an "unlock".

If you dont know how manufacturing and worldwide distribution works thats fine, but im telling you the game is finished. This is the final state of the game. The discs are already made and have been shipped out. They are not still working on and devloping it 7 days before release date. Thats rediculous to even think so. The way the AI is programed, the server issues, the car roster, the lack of mods, the fact that no connection equalls 100% locked out of everything, all of this is in its final state. The most that can be done is MAYBE a day 1 patch to fix SOME of the issues, but the core game is not gonna be changed within a week.

Wow dude lol you completely misread what he typed. No one said anything is changing, only more will be unlocked. Most here know this isn't a "beta". Just testing server stress. Your a loose screw, please go relax abit then come back on the forums and maybe talk with some decency.

The AI in this game is the worst i have ever seen. They purporsedly come behind you and spin you completely out, and just keep going like nothing even happened.

Man imagine being over at PD, for years everyone wanted better more aggressive AI. They deliver and people say they're TOO aggressive:lol:.

Being aggressive and purposedly spinning you out on straights and turns alike and going like they hit nothing are 2 totally different things. Especially when you take account the SR and DR rating systems they have implemented to STOP that

theres no car modding

Besides losing wings, this is actually the most robust customisation we've ever had on GT! The livery editor is a gift from God.

Ok we have a livery editor. While yes i think thats cool and its about time, what else do we have? Theres no performance shop, theres no performance parts we can buy to upgrade our cars, nothing. We got a lil thing in settings to "auto upgrade to this" and thats it. What happened to buying clunkers, building them up and buying better cars to then continue to build?

no car collecting

But there is. You have credits, you have cars, you buy said cars with credits? How is it different from any past Gt's..?

Past GTs had a ton of cars that ranged from your typical crap 1st car off craigslist, to classics and muscle cars, exotics and racecars. This has, well not much of anything. The oldest car is an 87 audi, while i admit is a badass car...thats about it.

We have what, 170 cars? Take away the vision cars, and of course the semmingly mandatory 5 multiple varities of each model, what do we have left? 60 maybe 70 actual cars? 90% that are just straight race cars?

Hey I'll give you that! Hopefully kaz isn't jerking our chain and really has 500 more cars on the way.

Look at all the broken promises we heard from GT5 and GT6. We will see

This of course being if you can even ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME!!! Since 9 this morning i have spent more time down do to server issues then actually playing. It will go doen for 45 minutes to an hour, come back up for like 20 or 30 minutes, theN down again. ALL. DAY. LONG. And OF COURSE if your not connected to the server you cant literally do ANYTHING. NOTHING! No arcade, no career, no profile you cant even get to the game options. Why???? Is this how its gonna be when it FINALLY releases? No network connection your locked out of 100% of the game?!?! On top of that completely unreliable servers??

It's a demo. We got to test the game for free before release no strings attached and your upset? How many thousands and thousands do you think are all trying to play at once. I'd much rather they have server maintenance during this demo period than constant disconnects on release day. We also don't know what the online requirements will be for the full game either. So relax.

I can almost guarantee there will be alot more playing on day 1 then thats playing the demo. Even in this thread you can see that theres gtplanet memebers thats not playin the demo

Sorry PD. You failed, and your entire franchise is crashing and burning. There are way too many other options out there now. Your not the only one in town. Between assetto corsa, project cars 2, forza 7 now that its on pc as well, among several other racing sims that are on their way, your just bringing too little too late. And wrapped up in a buggy, frustrating and unreliable package.

I don't see how PD have "failed" yet. The game isn't even out bud. When we see bad sales figures or a loss of profit then I guess we can say it's failed? But I'm pretty sure, and your probably sure yourself you know this game is going to sell like hotcakes. Especially with it being largely positive praise on multiple forums. I don't see "failure" inbound.

They failed in delivery. They tried to copy project cars, assetto corsas and deiveclubs formula, but did it worse. Instead of, you know, being gran turismo. For what this game is theres many other better games on the market that does that but better. And lets not even mention forza. At least they still have the car varity, mod shop ect.

Thanks for telling us your pre order canceling plans man but your on "Gtplanet" did you think you were gunna be seen off with roses? Your playing a demo and complaining, one more toxic community member gone in my books.👍

I realize where i am and have been a memeber for a long time. Probably longer then many others on here. I also have been playing this series since day 1 back in 1997. Again probably longer then alot on here have. Hell maybe even longer then some have been alive. I have had many many hours and tons of cash wrapped up in this series. So dont insinuate that im some "toxic" fanboy of another series just trying to bash GT, k?

Edit: sorry for terrible formatting I'm on mobile!
As am i.

・There may be some hours where gameplay is not possible due to server maintenance.

They are still load testing, without a doubt.

However, the advantage of an online based system is that its quite possible they can make changes to AI etc on the fly, without requiring a patch. If the game has been written with some flexibility in mind when you start a race it could download information to set options - for example the level of tyre slip, the strength of the AI and so on. I don't know if they have done this - its not behind the bounds of possibility.

Besides - "the lack of mods" isn't a bug, its intentionally not part of the game. Further cars will be added in the future - personally the "lack" as you put it isn't a problem to me, sure we can have 400 cars listed, but when 10% of them are Miatas what is the point ? 160+ is still plenty to keep everyone busy.

Also, it is believed that the final game won't lock you out of everything if the servers are down.

I know the lack of mods and some other things i mentioned is not a bug, its a core aspect of the game. That was the point i was trying to make. Only so much can be done with patches. Yes i have gripes about the server. Its extremely frustrating. But thats just the icing on the cake on top of all the other things i have mentioned that cant be changed with a patch.

Did you read the rest of my post or just the "network issue" part? Because that was just 1 of many complaints

Yes I did read it. You made it sound like it's worst game when it's not. PD made the A.I fast and agressive instead of being lenient and people tend to prefer a more aggressive A.I. And it seems like you pre order a game without even researching about it.

Wow dude lol you completely misread what he typed. No one said anything is changing, only more will be unlocked. Most here know this isn't a "beta". Just testing server stress. Your a loose screw, please go relax abit then come back on the forums and maybe talk with some decency.

No , this demo has the purpose of stressing/testing the servers , and there's a lot of content locked , so no , this is not the full game.

Actually try the full game before ranting , give it a chance.

You'd be great for IGN though , i'll give you that. :D

From what i see hes saying that this isnt the full game. The PSN store itself calls it a full game trial. Also look at the size. Just because they locked alot of content out dont mean that the core aspects of the game isnt here. They are not gonna be doing any major additions to the core game at this point. This is what we get.

That being said, alot of whagoine gran turismo gran turismo is not here. They went a completely different direction then what made this game what it was. Yes cars can be added in as (most likely paid) dlc. Yes network issues can be fixed. Yes things can be patched. Will they? Only time will tell (still waiting for that gps logger on gt5...)

But a complete redesign is not gonna happen in a patch. Gran Turismo tried being whats currently hot in a genre they created and others have imitated. If i want a game similar to project cars i would i have bought PC2. I already have assetto corsa. I wanted, and waited for Gran Turismo, of which this game is not. And from what i see from the core gamplay and what they are goinh for, theres other games that do it better.

I was on the fence on getting Forza 7 for PC. But now it seems the only way to get that Gran Turismo experience in some form, is to go to Forza ironically enough. I didnt have forza 7 ultimate ed preordered for over a year. I had GTS Limited preordered for over a year. Because i wanted my GT. And what we are gettings is NOT GT.

Also your right. We dont need 30 of the same cars to inflate the number. But do me a favor and go back and count out of the current count how many actual cars we have that are not rehashed copies.... They are still giving us multiple of the same car, even with a much smaller car list.

I've been driving some cars in this game. However, I'm the fool who chose X/square and the D-pad for my control scheme. And the options menu crashed the game at first when I tried to change it. Then when I found it was working, I decided not to bother changing controls after all. Then I went back to the main menu to find it had disappeared. I clicked something invisible that let me change my profile up, backed out, and then the game crashed. Gooooood.

What this means is FWDs understeer to the point of undriveability, and RWDs try to kill me the instant I touch the throttle out of a corner. It also means 4WDs drive nothing short of godly. Which, as a fan of the drivetrain, is absolutely fine by me.

Not the Evo Rally Car though, weirdly. It's got a bit of understeer through a corner and oversteer out of it, both of which don't do it many favours. Goes like a rocket otherwise, though. And off-roading it doesn't really help. Turns out it's quite hard to put 520hp down on gravel.

The other two Evos are great though. The stock Evo 10 is the best car I've driven so far, perfect to steer and accelerate with. The Group 4 technically has the same problems as the Group B, but with the lower speed it's on a much lesser scale, so it's fine really. And yet that isn't even the best Group 4 I drove. That'd be the Veyron, of all things, which happens to be really very good to drive round Maggiore.

Never forget that a 425bhp Bugatti is the race car we deserve.

Of course, there was one part I was always looking forward to when I saw the details of it, and that was Scapes. It's been everything I wanted it to be. And some. I wanna go to them all. Every. Single. One. I could do Cowcross Street and Millennium Bridge every day, if I wanted...

Oh and of course it all looks nice and lovely. So I think this has been alright so far. If only I could drive most of the roster without constantly having to be on edge...

I left the application and it completely erased everything. Even parts that were autosaved. It recohnized that I have done events, but erased my earnings. Now I can't get the money from those events. PD FIX YOUR GOD DAMN SERVERS YOU ****S.

Managed to get a few drives in over at a mates tonight, between the server issues.

I wish I could like Dragon Trail, this is one issue with fictional stuff, for the 100 that actually like it, 5-10 won't enjoy it. With so few tracks, it's a concern/lottery.

The extra year improving and polishing the game has helped increase the quality. I know peeps are frustrated at the down-time they've suffered, but that's something different to the quality I'm meaning.

After 30 positive mins with the demo, I came away thinking it was a great shame that I can't see cars lapping at places like Monaco, Long Beach and the raft of other tracks that are missing day one. They would look stunning. Hopefully there will be news for fans soon, on what DLC is coming and when it will all start.

I doubt many will extract as much from a PS4 Pro, compared to what P.D are doing.

Is it just me or rally is terrible like old games ? I mean , i played some rally games and cars don't slide like they are moving over soap . I wonder why they add it at this point . They should focus on road tracks .
Game is good but graphics are overrated . Like always , GT games look fantastic in screenshots but they disappoint me every time in gameplay...cars look fantastic but tracks not so much .

Finally got My First Sport race in this evening before switching off! Started on Pole & Finished 1st. Guy behind kept a 1 Second gap throughout until 3rd lap where he ran out of talent and trailed behind to finish 3rd. Really enjoyed the sound of the Porsche Gr.4! Found my new love in the Mazda Atenza as It Just grips the road beautifully! Will be racing in that tomorrow for sure.

Don't forget you can import your own livery file (in vector format) and then...

You can eventually put your waifu on your car. In Gran Turismo. What a joy. Can't wait to see many itasha's messing around in GTS...

I'm not sure there's anything in the genre that looks better?? YMMV of course. It runs smooth too.

Nobody is doing Rallying much justice tbh, since Richard Burns Rally, the industry has just turned out average efforts which haven't pushed the genre along by much. I think to remove Rallying from GTS would be just more reasons for fans to justify not buying this version. With so many fans not sticking with the franchise since 4/5/6, I'm not sure that would be a healthy thing for anyone. Players or P.D.

Maybe those server costs went through the roof, just like Kaz said they would if PD to do an open beta/demo :P

Got to play around with the livery editor (very nice!) and race with a MX-5 at Kyoto, then everything went offline...

What is the secret to Mission Challenge: Stage 6, #8?

The problem I am having, is that I am ran off the road by the A.I. far too often, as if they are unaware of my presence. As far as keeping up, and not overusing fuel, not a problem.

Does anyone else have a problem with this mission?

Thanks.

I mean, the overall problem with rally is that it is not very authentic. Typically rally races are point-to-point, one driver at at time, and the fastest time is what wins. I don't understand the whole dozen or more cars going around in a dirt ring. They might as well have made a clay or dirt oval and introduced stock-car racing, instead.

Ouch.

I have earned about 200,000 credits, the gift cars and 3,000 odd mileage points.

Not sure if it will be worth the aggro to keep tinkering with the demo until release date.

They already posted a message int he news apologizing for wiping out peoples uploaded Scapes Photos, Race Photos, Liveries, and replays on the server earlier.

They've changed the tuning side of the game, that's pretty clear, however there are so many things still locked down we cant assume anything at this time.

I'd certainly hope that the work they're doing on the servers sorts them for day one. Funny how Mike the ranter is saying he was part of the closed beta and that was to test the servers and game... but it was closed.. a set number of people/connections. How many people have downloaded this OPEN DEMO and loaded up the servers with data..??

We dont know, but I'll assume that it's 10 times the number of the closed beta and this (I also assume) is why they chose to do this.

On 2nd thought, I'm actually glad I didn't get PS+ for early access. I'd be stressing quite abit at my newly made creations not saving.

I'm not following GTSport nearly as close as most of you, but I'm trying to stay somewhat informed. One thing that I've noticed in the hundreds of GTSport posts I've read regarding the open beta and now the 4-day demo, no one has said a blip about vehicle setups. Springs, dampers, differentials, etc. Is that not a part of GTSport? I should probably use the word "tuning". Is tuning still a part of Gran Turismo? When I played GT6 it was all about finding that perfect tune.

Yes it is.
