It can be faster to drift in the odd corner but not consistently, and the car has to be specifically set up for it and on the right tyres else you're going to get above average levels of wear.

IMO, drifting shouldn't be included in GT4, because I never tought drifting was a legitimate form of motorsport. In fact, in 5 years , nobody will be talking about it anymore, it's just a trend that came with the Tuning wave.

I can respect people who like it, but I never understood the point. And I will be even more against its presence if it turns out to be extremely hard and it's needed to complete the game to 100%.

See ya :sly:

I'm sorry but I don't see any Ricey cars trying to go sideway's...do you? Nfs:U made drifting ricey how ever.....

Let me explain something. Alright? Just because NFS:U had drifting doesn't mean that only "ricers" do this. Get off it, alright? Drifting should be as equally respectful as Autocross in the respect that anyone in almost any car can do it. You don't have to be an Acura RSX driver who has tuning parts from APC and have a booming stereo system to drift. You don't have to have a Toyota Corolla/Toyota AE86 driver with a fancy wing to drift. It should be equally acceptable. NASCAR racers drift out when the right front meets left rear, so that's saying that American cars can drift.

One of the more interesting drift cars would be if a Dodge Neon SRT-4 had four-wheel drive. Because I think all you need is a little rear-drive. RWD and 4WD can both slide out pretty well. And some people say that front-drive can be driftable, but I never really read about how, and which cars. Hell, someone here in Houston (or someone who came to Houston) had a 500hp, Mopar-sponsored, late model Dodge Viper. So drifting... for "ricers" only? If a damned Viper can go sideways, why not allow Skyline and other cars to go sideways. I think the thing is more entertaining than just-turn-left American motorsports. So bring on the drifting!

No... what i meant was that NFs:U gave drifting a bad reputation that Drifters were a bunch of ricers... That's it... I mean, I love drifting I do it all the time in gt3! Sorry for the misunderstanding...

Yes... and we generally try to tune our cars so they don't oversteer... Next point?

yea that's the thing, professional drift cars actually have more of a grip racing setup rather than setting it up to oversteer blindly. it is so they will have more grip to go faster and be smoother. the cars aren't tuned to oversteer, it is the driver that makes them oversteer.

rock. :dopey:

I was under the impression to get a car to successfully and consistently drift you have to set it up with that in mind, and that a drift setup is different from a traditional grip racing style.

Let's simplify this... Both setups need stiff suspensions.... both need high grip tyres for control... both need proper lsd's to once again, stay in control, both are lowered to lower the center of gravity, strong brakes, stong gearboxes, rollcages, bracers... etc etc... so they are both VERY similar but just a few differences

When I first read the "Should drifting be in GT4? Would be a great addition" I was about to say you can drift in any GT game, until I saw the drift mode. Me, One thing I would love to see go with this mode would be actually D1 Drift Cars. Like the Yellow and Grey GTO. Or Team Orange's Silvias. Anyways, I would love this mode.

Lambo88, did you read all of the posts? Like the one I wrote that stated the point about imports in general? You just stated the antithesis of my post, and did nothing to support it. You goose.

If drifting was as stupid as it was in NFS Underground I don't think it'll be a good Idea. I drift all the time in gt3 though. will it be race-type drifting where one chases and one leads or will it be doing donughts in a parkinglot?

yes i think it would be sweet, they should do it,i think they already are going to have it in there.as long as its not like nfsu, have real drift teams and the cars, and be able to tune any car you buy for drifting, having drift battles on line would be awesome.klan drift battles, and having it judged like in real life.smoke, car angle, linking the course, styleish and agressive driving, one handed(if they have people inside which might happen) from rumors..pce.
