Well the Merc is cheap. I'm go a try and win all gold in La Festa Cavallino to get the Ferrari. I only have 12 mil so I have to rack money to get the Ford. I guess I can sell all my cars as GT6 is around the corner.

I don't have the Merc, Ferrari or Ford. How go I win them? Can all 3 be won?

The Merc is a premium new car, don't think it's too expensive. The Ford I don't think can be won.

Let's not start until Wed. Sep 21.

Edit: Check or Search the Seasonal thread, there's probably some races with stupidly high payouts. See JT's info below.

Intel I found.

Play the online seasonal event titled “580PP La Festa Cavallino” using a Ferrari of your choice and you will walk away with various gear and cash while in the process earning the Ferrari 330 P4 race car as the main prize. You must of course get gold in all events to receive the P4. I had no problem achieving this in less than an hour using my fully cooked Ferrari 430 Scuderia. All races are expecting a 580pp. The races include the following…

^ Ah, that's cool. Didn't know it was a prize car. Everyone should be able to get one.

I think the Ford is worth getting personally. Awesome cockpit view and it sounds great, one of my favorites. Love it at Le Sarthe.

I'll get the money somehow.

Vintage Spec Challenge:

Event Schedule:

Testing and practice. September 11
Race 1. September 18. 1966 Jaguar XJ13 at Spa. RM Tires/Normal Tire Wear. Two 14 lap Races.
Race 2. September 25. 1954 Mercedes Benz 300SL at Nurburgring GP/D. SH Tires/Very Fast Tire Wear. Two 16 lap Races.
Race 3. October 2. 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 at Monza. RM Tires/Normal Tire Wear. Two 17 lap Races.
Race 4. October 9. 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia T2Z at Cote d'Azur. SM Tires/ Very Fast Tire Wear. Two 16 lap Races.
Race 5. October 16. 1967 Ford MKIV at LeSarthe 2009. RM Tires/Normal Tire Wear. Two 8 lap Races.

To keep thing simple, the same race format as in the OP except no standing or points. 1 Pace lap for each race. One mandatory pit stop. Reverse grid for second race. etc...Tuning Prohibited. (The Ford tops out on the Mulsanne straight so we'll either lower it's HP or allow the transmission top speed raised as the only Tuning option).

Both the Alfa and Jaguar can be painted.

These are great cars, I had fun testing them out this afternoon. Best to get some practice driving them-hopefully we can all do do some practice runs before race night especially the Ferrari. I'd like to get a lot of track time with the Race Cars. They cost so much and I've barely used them.

If you're comfortable driving in Cockpit view I'd highly recommend it. All these cars have beautifully rendered dashes especially the Jaguar. The Ferrari doesn't have a rear view mirror though however, heh. Also ABS 0 if you have a good pedal set up. I can help with B/B settings. Certainly not required as there's a learning curve for sure. But it really breathes life into these beauties, makes them feel more...Vintage.

I'm going to send a few invites to some guys I know since our ranks are getting thin. Not sure about our iRacing friends or Godangit. I'll assume they are out of GT5 for now.

Looks good NCR. we can use a HP restriction on the Ford at Monza and still have tuning prohibited. Just have to work out how much with the draft.

What are broken in HP cap of each car?

Good question! I'll try and get them run in soon, hopefully this weekend.

Edit: Just checked my cars but I'm not 100% positive they're fully run in:

Jag 536 hp 600pp
Ferrari 464 hp 607pp
Ford 529hp 606pp

Neither my Alfa or Merc is broken in. Will do so this weekend. Wed. night I'd like to get the Ford's specs dialed in for LeSarthe. LeSarthe 2009 and 2005 sure are different! I figure we're all more familiar with 2009 so that would be easier.

Agree on 09'.

Got the other two cars broken today:

Mercedes Benz 300SL Coupe 222hp 409pp
Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 177HP 501pp

The Jag is topping out at Spa. Do we get to adjust transmission?

Good to know, are you in draft? I hadn't encountered that but I was alone on track. Scaling back the hp might be what we do as any adjusting other than the power limiter would open up Tuning. If you're driving with someone please see how high the hp/pp can be before it runs out, thanks. I'm gonna be on later tonight too.

I've got confirmation of a couple more racers joining us. A buddy from NC and a friend. May be some more too.

I was alone. The Jag has an adjustable transmission as default. It was set to 158 lower right box at stock. I moved the setting to 198. In a draft it might limit out.

Default is 205 on lower right. 4.200 FG. 209 at top.

Just ran it at Route X and it topped at 201-202. That should be fine unless someone takes some serious liberties with Eau Rouge!

Edit: Just to be clear-Tuning Prohibited means just that. ALL settings must be at default even if they can be adjusted. Except for the Power Limiter. I'll verify that but I'm 99% sure that's all that can be adjusted. Sometimes certain custom wheels won't pass as well.

Oops-Forgot about brake bias! Thanks RR!

Power limiter and brake bias is all that can be adjusted in Tuning Prohibited. We tested that for the Dodge Challenger Series. I had several issues with hitting the rev limiter and dialing back the hp solved that problem.
