Special/Ultimate Parts

I’d argue there is a reason to keep the special parts exclusive to the roulette. And it’s just that - to keep them exclusive. Same as the engine swaps. Neither would feel special when a few hours at Spa, Le Mans or Sardegna would pretty much guarantee you enough funds to access them (or Tokyo with that toy car, if you have no soul). Look how easy it is to grind for a 10M car in Legendary. There are countless players who have all manner of eye-wateringly expensive cars in their GT garage. So there’s nothing special about that. The same would apply to special parts if it was only a matter of money.

Now whether PD need to work on the way the roulette works in terms of the chances a player has to win a special part or engine swap, and whether they also need to vastly expand on the number of different special parts and swaps available, that’s another thing entirely.

PD were right to bring back some unicorn features. Special parts feel special, because they’re so elusive. There wouldn’t be threads like this if these parts were available for purchase. There’d be no mystique. It’s just a shame they’re so sparse in number, and it’s a shame the roulette system itself seems so deliberately skewed towards delivering the most disappointing prize of the few flashed under our noses.

I think it’s a case of the reality falling well short of PD’s vision. I’m sure this isn’t exactly how Kaz imagined it. And I’m sure that’s the case because the game got kicked onto sale before it was anything like the all-encompassing experience we were led to anticipate.

I remain optimistic. Just.
I would agree with you on the point that these special parts should feel rewarding... if the actual process behind getting them was fair and rewarding, that is. Considering you can only get 1 roulette a day, with a 2% chance for it to be a special part, AND a 1/400 chance that it's even for the car you want, I can't say there's much "pride and accomplisment" behind earning these parts.

Personally, if I wanted to make the parts feel exclusive without being too luck-based, I'd probably add a special type of roulette ticket that can only give you a special part.

The main problem is we can't farm/acquire tickets. If we could, it'd be much easier to win the parts while still making you work for them.

I used to think most of these parts sucked, but it seems there are quite a few that upgrade the engine enough to make a large difference. Also there's cars with High Lift Cam S and I can't pass an opportunity to make my cars rev higher.

I really hope the way we can obtain special parts changes, as it stands now we won’t be able to get for the most cars we want it for, make them winnable from special events, or make so we can farm more than one roulettes per day, i think almost no one will be able to fully upgrade any car as it stands now, some cars have 4 special parts that you need to fully upgrade it the chsnces you get that is almost impossible even after 2 years

yeah buddy

Any signs of getting Diff Aspirations for a Car? It bothers me that most of the cars are restricted to either Turbo or Supercharger. I need a Turbo C4 and a Supercharged Merci stat lol.

So at this point, I'd say it's pretty common knowledge that almost every road car in the game has unlockable Titanium Conrods and Pistons, and almost every FR and 4WD car has an unlockable Carbon Propeller Shaft. There are also plenty of cars with unlockable Stage 5 Weight Reduction (although this just reduces the weight by the same amount as Stage 3 would on other cars), but what about the other 5 power upgrades? Below, I've listed every car that is known to be compatible with these special upgrades, from both this thread and elsewhere. If the HP difference from installing the upgrade is known, I'll add that too.

Ultra-High RPM Turbo:

Excellent Work!!!

I’ll look forward to seeing you update this when more options become available. It’s not unreasonable to hope PD really expand on things in the future. Hopefully this list grows much more in time. Thanks for taking the time to put this together 🙂

Wow. I just checked and... You're completely right.
Now I wonder why. If this thing doesn't gain at least 500hp from that turbo then I'll be damned.
Add the 2015 Mazda Roadster S (ND) to the Supercharger (High-RPM S) list.

Gran Turismo® 7_20220516174631.jpg

If only the internal engine S components (stroke/bore/high-lift cam) could be gleaned from the settings sheet without having them installed,....

Add the 1971 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) to the Ultra-High RPM turbo list...and the 1989 Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX TT 2seater to the turbo list.

Added!
Side note: now I'm curious whether the High-RPM turbo or the S Supercharger is better for the MX-5. So many questions... so few good roulettes.

Z Performance '23 High Lift Camshaft S. Pulled the ticket.

Would it not be safe to say that if a car has high lift camshaft, the s part should be availble to win, but considering how rare those special parts is we proably never know what cars has exactly what part avalable until we played the game for a year or maybe more

Well guys, I’ve somehow just won a 6 star ticket. The only other time that happened was after the server downtime a while ago (or maybe it was completing the menu book). Anyway, I’m going to see what it brings. Hoping for an engine but perhaps an S part to add to the list. Stay tuned…

ETA: False alarm. I only won a Veneno 😏

I've had one six star ticket in all my workout's so far, I can't remember what I got from it tho but I am still awaiting my first engine!

Apparently the 5 and 6-star tickets can only pull cars or gold bars. Further proving that the 4-stars are actually the best

I’ve noticed quite a few of us have won the Stroke Up S for the NSX Type R. I’m starting to wonder whether some S Parts are less elusive than others 🤔

ETA: I tagged Famine and messaged Scaff a few days ago regarding getting the thread moved, and I haven’t had a response. So it’s probably safe to assume it’s staying put. I think there might be an upside to this, though. I get the feeling if the thread was in the main section it’d get a load of illiterate ‘contributions’ from people that just want to moan about the roulette. So perhaps it’s for the best we stay in a subforum.
