In addition to using the entire track, hopefully the drag racing aspect can be used as well, knowing that certain users have been begging for a while.

My X2011 has gone 320mph on SS7 but I ran out of straight road to go faster, assuming I go 322mph it would still take me 3:25 to get around the 19mi long track

The Volkswagen Schwimmwagen typ166 '42 however, with a stock transmission it has the lowest top speed of any car, 52mph. At that speed it would take 21:30 to go around the track

theres also slight bends in SS7 so this track will be better

It will be interesting to see how much speed you can squeeze out of these cars on the straights

If the average speed was 482 kmh, 1 lap will be 3 minutes, 45 seconds, loved the radiotelescopes, might get a call from ET

Machine Test was one of my favorite features in the past GT games and where I would spend most of my time. The anticipation of continuing this past time was once GT5 was released was one of the reasons I purchased a G35 and Wheel Stand Pro back in '09. I was a bit bummed that GT5 didn't have this feature when it came out but now that this update adds it on what looks to be the best high speed test track in GT history I am quite excited.....Unfortunately I sold my G35 and stand last week because I wasn't playing much GT5. Poor timing on my part :)

-> I just saw SHIRAKAWA's vid snip and all I could say is...'Simply Mindboggling...'

^ I literally had my jaw drop out of sheer amazement!

The track is beautiful, specially the scenery! Something that should've been added since the beginning. But I feel that PD exagerated the lenght. They really went too far. Even the X1 becomes almost static in that straight.

I think the old test track was more than enough to max out any car. There is no doubt about that. Even SSR7 is more than enough to max out any car for a short period of time.

It will be awesome for the first tries, but if I get this dlc, I see myself yawning after reaching the first banking.

But nice track, nevertheless. Can't wait to see the other options that it will have. I just hope that drag races are added.

I dont think ill be bored until I have gone through all my cars for the best times. Useful to tune your motor

Im just glad we can finally have some benchmarking tools :3

Same here.

But as for track layout,
I think that maybe one half of the track would be a normal oval, but the other side may be some sort of long, technical track, I really hope so.

i noticed that yesterday most of there original tracks have tunnels and more that one too! * grand valley , trail mountain, ssr5 ,deep forest .. autumn ring * under the bridge* i guess tunnels are just cool and they do give the game that nice touch to it

Easier to model?

As for the value for money, we don't know whether it'll be good value or not yet, not till we buy it and get to enjoy the testing features that look like will be included.

As for price - it wasn't included in the original game, some say it should have been, fair point. It wasn't - nothing can be done about that. It isn't being given away - nothing can be done about it.

Either you'll want it enough or want to support PD and will buy it. By paying for it now, aren't we giving PD the message that DLC tracks are in demand, that we'll encouraging the development and sale of more DLC circuits?
I want it and will buy it!

Or you don't value it, or will think it is better to keep your money in your wallet - and that is your choice. I'd hope we refrain from pointless posts repeating the moaning ... please

As ive said before if this track allows us to drag race properly and stop people from dragging at indy and whichever fake drag strip they have used in the past I will support PD and purchase it .

If not it really is a waste , all the people want is proper drag racing . It could of been on that ancient test course we really dont care , we just want to be able to line up 2 or more cars have a proper countdown and proper 1/4 or 1000 m finish.

Is that too much to ask for ?

Wait a minute, some are upset because the track is an oval? I thought it was mentioned a few days ago and wasn't really necessary to see video of it to confirm that it was an oval?
Someone hopes there's more than this silly 30km oval.
Please don't take this post too seriously, I'm just poking at those who always have those high expectations (even though we already knew it was an oval, sorry again).
No I don't take you seriously, but you know about Complex Strings right? That was a test track and no, expecting they use part of that layout is not exactly "high expectations", is logic. They already have that, I hope they won't charge just for a lame 30 km Oval and nothing else. There should be another version with a Complex section somewhere. How they think to measure G-force? With the oval "turns"? That would be the Ultimate LAMENESS.

If this is used online I bet it will be just for races like we have now, no real drag racing. The track is gorgeous and looks awesome but if it is indeed just a oval I don't see laps going on after 1 lap 2 max. I just don't think it would be any fun or challenging with anything less and a X2011.

Now, throw in a green light for go all lined up across that would probably please at least a million people. :)

Anyone up for an x2011 enduro?
Hell I'm up for any race with you buddy 👍

Couple of things:

1. People keep saying this will cost £4 in the UK but according to the previous news item, it will be £3.19 (and a round £4.79 for the car pack, total eight quid)

2. There might yet be a skid pan of sorts in the centre, we've seen cones but we won't know til we can play it I guess

Oh yeah by my reckoning the guy in that vid was decimals away from hitting 300MPH, so that's my aim =)

If Route X indeed includes more layouts than just a big oval, it may explain that infinity sign shown in this screen perhaps.

What if this option makes it possible to have continuously changing layouts (by which I mean changing between existing Route X layouts) when driving instead of selecting one layout beforehand?
Ofcourse it may be for something completely different but why make a new icon if it doesn't indicate something currently not in the game?
