The blogs also confirm you'll be able to use Route X online..

Quoted from the latest news story regarding the DLC 👍.

Well I'm pretty sure that owning the DLC is a given, they already patched being able to race online on tracks you don't own.

Errr no. They removed that. You need to have bought the DLC to play.

That's exactly what I just said? I said owning the DLC is a given, meaning that you have to have it, and then I said that they patched out the ability to race on tracks you don't own. You literally restated what I just said.

I misread the quote, my bad 👍, I stand corrected.

A bit ridge racer isn't it and what is it with PD and tunnels. Lol.
It's a ten-kilometre straight. They've got to do something to break up the monotony. Interesting scenery is probably the best way to do that - so far, we know we've got the tunnel, what looks like a storm drain in the vein of the LA River, the radar telescopes, the docklands, what might be an airport if it weren't on top of the storm drain and so on.

I wish they would reveal whether it is just the oval, or if there is more to it.
Space empire said SSR-X "Oval" will be 30km with a 12km straight.

I said it before, maybe i'm just getting my hopes up, but maybe there is more to this track than just an oval...

It would be awesome if it was an ultimate test track with a Complex String type road course, skid pad, etc...Wishful thinking, though...

Ok the test track, ok top speed but they better have a proper Complex String somewhere in the middle or all this 30km Oval will get boring in a couple of days.

It does seem logical that it may be included though, wouldn't it? It's been said all along that Complex String was one of the most widely used "test tracks" in the series. Maybe this could end up being a new and improved Driving Park after more updates.

Wait a minute, some are upset because the track is an oval even though it was known that it was an oval? I thought it was mentioned a few days ago and wasn't really necessary to see video of it to confirm that it was an oval?

Please don't take this post too seriously, I'm just poking at those who always have those high expectations (even though we already knew it was an oval, sorry again).

Seriously, that is one long straight. I can't wait to do some draft battles in one make races.

Yep, that'll be fun to race on. And for anyone who's wondering, the track is 18.6 miles (or 30km).

Must be just me but I don't see the fun in racing a straight line.
Fine if your into drag racing that's ok your set up.
As a circuit racer I can't see any enjoyment.

Great for benchmarking but that's what it's designed for.
People complaining about 16 player lobbies suffering issues with lost time etc will finally have there proof too I suppose.

I am very happy with it by the looks so far, GT2-GT4's test tracks still limited some cars but this one looks great.

One thing I noticed is during the top speed it doesn't show 400m and 1000m splits like GT4's top speed runs used to. I like to record my best 400m and 1000m runs in Excel but rather than doing seperate 400m,1000m and top speed runs I would just do the top speed and check the splits as I go and record them later from the replay. Doesn't matter I am just very glad to get back a acceleration and top speed testing track/mode. This track looks much nicer and capable than previous versions.

My speculation as to why I think there could be more than an oval:

When Space Empire revealed the length he didn't say "Route X is blah, blah, blah..." He said Route X "Oval" will be such and such.

I'm trying to not get my hopes up too high in case I'm taking this all out of context. But I just found it suspect that he would call it R-X Oval instead of just R-X. People have pointed out some screenshots that contain what look like roads on the inside of the course.

There is still stuff yet to be revealed as in screenshots for the other 3 DLC cars, I just hope there is more for R-X as well.

@SHIRA so it could well be a triangle 1x 12km's straight with maybe (by the look of those markers in your previous pic at least one of the other straights (IF the markers start at the start of that particular straight) is 7km being that there looks to be one more marker beyond the 6000 before the big bank over the water and presumably back to where we see the X2010 on the 12km straight....I wonder some more I'm still thinking it is a 3 sided track personally... also yep that "other road" is very intriguing!

Like everyone else, I'm trying to not get my expectations too high. But I think there's more than the oval. Why PD would just show the straight in the Tokyo Auto Salon demo?

That downhill section shown on the NSX video... makes me think about how you would "climb it".

A simple uphill in a oval track would be... weird.

There's a bridge on the backstraight. You can see it here. It is very partly visible in the Tokyo Salon video too if look closely:

I personally think the benchmarking features will be the most attractive feature.

Gone will be the days of using ghost replays to time your 1/4th mile runs.

This is a great addon. Thank you PD.

I don't know if I've ever seen a set of more observational, creative-thinking people than my fellow GT lovers! I wasn't too excited, but after all the minute details have been pointed out, my thoughts are racing with the potential fun of new surprises!
