Speculated Track List

I won't even try to claim that this is real. It's just mere speculation by me, but I at least put some effort into it.

What made me do this, other than being bored, is a statement by a video game developer I heard a few years ago. He was presenting V-Rally 3 and when he was asked about why the game didn't have the WRC license, he said that acquiring the WRC license means that your game must include every country that is on the resepctive year's WRC calender, but they wanted to include fewer countries and focus on them. I can't prove this, it was on a German TV show, and even if I could, no one knows if that regulation has been changed.

However, it inspired me to think that 20 locations = 20 countries, and I actually included all the countries that are on 2008's WRC calender. I copped out by combining Wales and Ireland to Great Britain, though. I tossed in some actual WRC stages for good measure and took out the fictional dirt tracks in return, but kept the ice tracks. I also included every track that is in GT5:P and/or rumored to be in GT5. The whole point of it, other than killing some time, was to see with how many unique layouts I end up. Going by 20 locations and 70 layouts, I randomly ended up with 40 unique layouts.

I was playing Gran Turismo 2 just the other day for some nostaligia I guess...and I really want to see a modernized version of Tahiti Road and Rome Circuit. Ofcourse I'd love to see the other classic tracks make a comeback too but I was thinking, damn Tahiti Road would look outstanding on GT5's graphical level.

And missing the London long course, the Madrid course in Spain and odd are we will have the Indianapolis GP circuit in USA.

I dont know about anyone else, but I really miss the Red Rock Valley Speedway from GT2. The evening setting and that banked first turn with the sweeping chicane after it. Great fun... :)

Looking a the other tracks I'm pretty sure the London II track is the London reverse layout.

Also the Eiger Long versions. I seem to be the only one that remembers that the Eiger we got is the short version. It was clearly stated in GTHD that this was Eiger short.

As you go over the bump on the main straight you see a road that breaks off before the first corner, and you see a road reconnect on the hairpin just after the bridge.

I think what you say is correct 👍

This list is missing so many circuits not only that were in previous GTs, but also that have been confirmed or speculated to be in GT5. The Madrid course being one of them. I do not think reverse versions are included in the press releases, because it is exactly the same circuit just with the start/finish line swapped.

And also after the long hairpin before the tunnel. There's a road that was cut-off too. I'm guessing there's 2 other versions of Eiger. Another, longer, tarmac road and a mixed dirt and tarmac road.

One thing I thought of, most likely not really it, maybe the "20 locations" refers to 20 rally tracks and "70 variations" means 70 organized race circuits?

Well, if i remember correctly, the real life Eiger is actually a dirt road.

The track we got of Eiger is a railroad. The PD team were the ones that used that railroad and made it into a circuit. That's why I consider Eiger a sort of fictional track created by PD.

If I'm guessing it right, maybe the one about 20 70 rumor is the 20 countries and 70 tracks. Let's be hones, you don't expect GT5 to only have 20 tracks and 70 variation. That's worst than Forza 3's loads of variation. My speculation is we can expect more than a hundred tracks (plus variations).

One thing tho, the GT created tracks aren't necessarily attributed to any country they're kind of in GT country, so their "location" should be GT world, does GT world count as a country?

I could have sworn I saw the layout for Mondello Park at the end of GT5P. Mondello is Ireland's national circuit and I think there is an argument for it being used in the game since Ireland has recently established itself a real force in motorsport by winning this years A1GP title.
Also Ireland is on the list as one of the countries for the GT Academy competition so it's possible it could be in the game.

I copped out by combining Wales and Ireland to Great Britain, though.
Uh...do we recognise the Queen as our Head of State? No. The full name of the United Kingdom is "The United Kindom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland," not "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland". And, Wales is already part of Great Britain. It's on the island of Britain, right? Well, unless some madman has dug a trench covering every last centimetre of the English/Welsh border that was below sea-level, and then let it fill up with water, Wales is geographically part of Great Britain.

Here's something to ponder on. The GT Academy competition features the following countries. At the national finals in each country I reckon they could let players battle it out on a track from that country.

UK
Ireland
France
Switzerland
Italy
Germany
Austria

Denmark
Norway
Finland

Sweden
Spain
Portugal

Netherlands
Belgium
Australia

New Zealand

The countries in bold are almost all likely to have tracks in the game, so do you think there are any tracks from the un-highlighted countries that could make the final game?

I'll be stoked if Australia gets a track. It's about time you gave us some respect, Nurburgring lovers.

Don't even joke with that. If Stelvio Pass is in, GT5 will stay on my PS3 FOREVER. Hell, I won't even leave my house for a couple weeks, just running that track up and down :drool:

Apparently you never saw this picture then..

First and last pic are of the actual Pass, middle pic is from FT 86 Concept video

What if GT had their own country? Like in reality. Like they took over part of Canada or something

It's got it's own planet.:sly:

The list is also fairly flawed. Chances are there will be more than 2 NASCAR tracks. You also left out El Capitan and it's rally counterparts.

A great deal of roads and passes have those signs and barriers in northern italy, including a WRC stage (WRC...), but it's a little hard to pinpoint it to Stelvio Pass. Although we can be sure what ever road it is, it will be fantastic,

No, the Eiger track is based up on a hiking trail, the train station at the track exists in real life though (it even looks exactly like the one in the game).
