Speculation on GT Driver's Club

I am hoping for very difficult events, and prize cars that are not available in game unless you beat each event.

Make it worth while.

And prizes that can't be traded/gifted - so they can retain some semblance of value (unlike say, coloured X2010's).

I'm thinking it will launch with the February update. It doesn't make sense to announce it the day before it launches, although I hope I'm wrong. I like Fredzy's idea of it being online events similar to GT5P. I don't race online as much as I did with prologue. I liked them telling me the cars and tracks to use, it just needs a lot more variety than Prologue. Now it just seems like a random collection of cars racing together.

Edit: No update as of 9:05 CST Seasonals are still on Bonus 5

9:25 CST and no update. I have to go get my oil changed on my Honda Fit, unfortunately not at GT Auto as it would be quicker.

And no it isn't Pink.

I'd think it would be similar to the "class" races in Prologue. But you never know :D
It doesn't say that it's a seasonal event in that message so it might just be pre-restricted online lobbies or something like that.

Nothing yet??? Maybe we'll need to do an update to add the GT Driver's Club, and this is the reason of the delay. Man, It would be great if it was true, and GT anywhere came with this update.

Is anyone else out there, that is constantly refreshing this thread, hoping someone will bring good news? . . . I know I am. :)

Nothing yet from here in Australia, I didn't even get the news about GT Driver's Club, just the seasonal events schedule update about events being every Thursday

Ya, I am too. Unfortunately, I think we are SOL. If nothing changed at the update time specified it probably wont be in effect until next week or the next patch IMO.

This is just a guess, but what if these events are the manufacture one make events that was left out of this game.Every other GT game had these so when i seen that this installment did not have them,i nearly freaked out.

Here's hoping these events will be added

Like someone else said in the other thread, I think that the AM was a mistake, and they meant PM. That would match up with the update times for the other seasonal events.

Hopefully we'll get something good considering that the US didn't get the Sig edition although I know you could of ordered it through different places on the net. Hopefully the prizes are worth it!!

Speaking of one make race's, I would love to see a restricted one make series (in the country of origin of course) for every car in the game.👍

I'm going to have to agree with this. As for the Drivers' Club, I would expect this to come with the February update.

So chill out.

People shouldn't get their hopes up about the GT Driver's Club. I say this because "club" and "exclusive" are very charged words and have implications of "only for a minority" i.e. it will likely exclude a majority of people very much like the GT Acadamy. It could involve registering like the GT Academy where prizes like hats and shirts might be mailed to winners. It might involve buying a product and retrieving a code. Maybe it will require owning a particular brand of steering wheel. It might only be open to those who place in the top 250 of a number of time trial events. It could be for those who purchased GT5P or GTPSP. It could be only open to Canadians (lol...this one's a joke for those who read it too literally). Whatever it is: be prepared for the possibility that the GT driver's club is more restrictive than you might think and potentially you might not be able to be part of the club. I speculate that it will not easily be accessible to everyone and that I will never make it into this club.

You really haven't been paying attention have you. This is not the way things are done around here. I sure wish it was but apparently PD has become so pathatically PC that they are afraid to exlude anyone from anything. The way they have watered down the seasonal events leads me to believe they are never going to exclude anyone from anything again. I will be surprised if you don't soon see the X1 challenge being redone so every retard with a controler can do it with their eyes closed as well.

I sure hope they make some events exclusive. As far as I am concerned they have already made the seasonal events exclusive because it will be a cold day in durham before I waste my time on any more of the seasonal events until they return them to something worth doing. I wish they would just get rid of em.

Thursday 0400hours GMT is 4 am GMT which is about 2 pm in Aus which is in 10 mins If i got my days and conversion right.
Its going to be a race for high priced cars and the F1 car

I don't understand why you get so angry about how other people play the game. You can easily use a car that is nearly stock in most of the seasonal events and it is pretty challenging. You also get a bigger reward since you didn't spend as much as "the bad players" on upgrades.

But anyway........... the time trials are ment for the "super hardcore" people like you. If you are so amazing why don't you get first in those or go race online against real opponents.

I guess we'll have to wait for the Feb update to find out. My worst fear is the drivers club is Playstation Home style club:tdown: Access to areas determined by things such as rank, license completion, special event completion, etc. Can you imagine all of us in our avatar driving suites with random guys humping everyone they think is a girl? I just hope it is races open to all regions but are challenging and rewarding.

First I've heard of this.

I agree with a lot what has been said so far. I'd like to see structured online races and series, an extension of GT5:P. The super open do whatever you want online system requires too much work on my part to find a good race, though it does have its merits.

I'd also like to see the seasonal events get difficult again. The Bonus no.6 Indy race is the first one that I didn't win with a completely stock car since the opened it up (racing:soft tires). I'll keep racing them cause the xp is high but they are a real waste right now as is.

and here is what I'd like to see with the driver's club, though a flying pig seems more likely:

- An exclusive club based on region or whatever where the fastest qualified drivers compete in races against each other and are ranked based on how they finished against a strength of field component.

- Pay for play if it makes sense. Real good prizes for not much money and a system that has a combination of racing and TTs (cool to add stage rallys, and drifting too) to decide a winner. Key here is GOOD prizes and NOT expensive: I'd be happy to put down $10 for a 6 week long competition with multiple events to win an SLS AMG, a Skip Barber driving school, a trip to Le Mans or an F1 race, etc. I wouldn't put up any money to meet Taner Faust or get a t-shirt or win another steering wheel or any of the prizes they currently have going.

Nice attitude there chief.

People have already been excluded from Seasonal Events, GT Academy is a seasonal event not available to anyone outside the U.S.

The Signature Edition event is also exclusive.

I "have" been paying attention to the way things have been going on around here, and when I first read the update and then there was mention the u.k. did not receive the same update I believe it will be region locked.

Why?

There will probably be real physical prizes like the user you quoted mentioned, hats, magazines, posters etc much like GT Academy. So setting up a station to mail out prizes is easier if you are only issuing prizes to one region instead of the entire world.

There's another thread about a new event just being open for Asia, I think it'll probably be region specific stuff.

Maybe it'll be something you have to sign up for that nets you real world prizes, maybe it'll be a subscription service or something. It's probably going to come in February.

My prediction: Hit level 40 on A spec and you enter the drivers club.

...and that would be a good reason to explain why seasonal events were (and are) rewarding Cr and XP so generously... 👍
