SpeedART- Birthday Update!

Firstly sorry for the double post but this is too much of an impotant matter that. It is finally here.......
Right I am going to split this into 4 sections one for each car with the info for each car and me a tommi2000's review for each car. The summary and results will be shown in the last section so you have to wait to see the results. I must explain that Tommi2000 drove them all around Laguna Seca as a mini test driver I suppose so he gives a verdict on his drive and I give a verdict on my drive of course taking photos along the way. So enjoy me and tommi2000's "Big Test".

Part One:- Audi S3
Tommi2000's Verdict:-Audi S3-It was quite a speedy car on the straights but even with 4WD it under steered and was rubbish round corners. 5/10
Speedster502's Review:-
The Audi steadily took of from the pit lane at Suzuka West. Along the straight it was quick infact one of the quickest out of all the hot hatches. So it was going well until…….it met a corner, now unlike the Ford it under steered horrifically. This ruined the whole experience and Audi if you are reading this (doubt you are) take my advice bin the 4WD system on hot hatches.

So there was part one of 4. Now although you guys may think it is great he has finally updated his gallery but I have a more serious note.

In a few weeks I will be going away now I dont really want to do this as I have grown to enjoy this froum so much. I will still be visiting now and again but on March the 3rd I will be leaving as a game that I have been waiting for, for over 8 months is out. It is Test Drive Unlimited. As I said I will try not to completlely desert you guys butI dont know how often I am going to be on GT4. If you could suggest ways of still coming here then please do.​
EDIT: Changed my mind....I will carry on truckin..wait GT4 hasnt got any trucks
 
Hey man! This is a cool idea. Maybe you should write a little more on how the car is. It is always interesting to read such reports on gt4 cars. Great shots btw.

I might add a bit more detail to the next one i.e price,value for money, horse power and all that stuff. Thanks for the comments though.
 
This is a very cool idea, my money is on focus. I like your second shot and Tommi's second shot also. Again I think this a very original and cool idea.

I wouldnt take your bets just yet after all a GTi in the hands of the right person could thrash a RS. I am working on my next project which is "Super Duper Cars" which is similar to this but minus tommi2000.

Thats the two cars I was having diffuculty choosing from, because you said the Audi(which was my first choice) understeered horribly so it was out, and I don't think the Civic is much compared to the others, and I would rate the focus RS as one of the best FF's in the game so I went with it.
 
Thanks for all your comments. You know whats really strange though is that tommi2000 (My partner in crime) hasnt commented yet on this, oh well. Right, I am fed up of waiting till Monday for part 2 so I will put it up now.

Poor acceleration but it made up for it into and in the corners and was quite good coming out of them and no under steer for once!
In a straight line it was an ok car but just wasn't fast enough. 7/10

I mean what can I say this car was the best handling car out of all of them. This car is very, very good. But it isn’t what I would call quick down the straights. I was disappointed with the straight line speed. The cornering was a highlight but it didn’t change the fact that it felt slow. Although it was cool when it lifted the rear wheel :)

top gear said the focus rs sucked. i test drove it on gt4, and i wasnt really that happy with it. but then again, everyone has their opinion. but i bet, tuned, the civic r would eat the focus rs alive. about the gti, i would have to agree. i had a fully built integra before myself, and new gti's with nothing but suspension mods and a chip would eat me alive sometimes. grr! anyways it's nice to see other people doing joint updates. great work guys!

This was my favourite car it wasn't the fastest through the corners but was very quick out of the corners and on the straights. 9/10

The Rabbit as the Americans call it. But here in good old blighty we call it the Golf. This Golf had the heaviest weight ever put on a GTi’s shoulders. I was expecting it to be dreadful as the previous Golf GTi (MK4) was but to my surprise it wasn’t. The handling may not have been perfect but it certainly was fun. It went into the corners very quickly and then it hit the apex and just kept on going. I love this car. I love its attitude and personality. It is a fantastic car a recommended buy if ever on the market for a decent hot hatch, go for this.

Nice one again, you think the suspension is loose enough on the second shot. The first shot of yours looks nice also, the blur looks pretty good. I really like reading the writ ups too, keep up the good work.

What do you mean LOON about the suspension? Seeming tommi2000 isnt around at the mo I did most of the editing but he did brightness and contrast on his pics and then I did the rest. Also here is a list of what is planning to come up in the next week or two.

Yeh I havent actually took the photos yet for that.......I need a car that looks sort of like a Reliant Robin i.e one of these....

Also I forgot to mention the Tourist Trophy shots that will be up before the Mercedes SL65 Brabus shots cause I haven't taken them either.
 
I was thinking maybe a Toyota Corrola A86 as it is about the same shape apart from not having 3 wheels but I can survive without 3 wheels.

Verdict
A rubbish car all round it was just under steer under steer and under steer, lack of speed on straights and poor acceleration. 2/10

The Honda was the biggest let down as I knew the Audi wasn’t going to be fantastic but the Civic was expected to be the 2nd best but wasn’t at all. I had such high expectations of it but it falled at the last hurdle. It was just at let down; it didn’t brake well, accelerate well or have a particularly high top speed. I know I took it to Tsubuka Wet but that shouldn’t make much of a difference.



So there is the final piece to the puzzle now here comes the lap times.

And the winner is.....
1. The Ford Focus RS-1:57.134
So there is the lap times does it make a diffrence to our final decision....no.
Summary
Overall I think what me and Tommi2000 would buy isn’t the Ford plainly because it is too expensive. It isn’t the Honda despite the cool background info on this car it just doesn’t cut it with the rest of them. It deserves to stay where it belongs, in boy racer magazines. It also isn’t the Audi as it just doesn’t give you that “WOW Factor” I wish it did but it doesn’t, also it doesn’t look the part. But me and Tommi2000 would buy the Golf as it gives you that really good feeling that you should get from a car. A car isn’t something to get from A to B it is to get you from A to B via a race track and at the same time enjoying your self. Here’s my tip of the day. Firstly buy a Golf GTi they are amazing. Secondly, enjoy decent cars while they are still around. And on that bombshell it is time to end...enjoy

Its just our opinions. Me and Him have very similar views on cars. It did handle alright but you have to remember I drove it mainly at the Tsubuka Wet Circuit so I gonna have thought it was pretty rubbish. i know it is unfair to have driven it on wet not proper tarmac like the rest. But I was mainly taking Photos. The next Project Super Duper Cars is slightly less biased.
 
I knew the Focus would win the fastest time, but I'm with y'all, I'd much rather have the golf any day.

And about my comment about the suspension on the second Golf shot, I said it looked like it had really loose suspension because the front of the car was dragging the ground, or it looked like it was.

Anyway, Very cool project and idea you guys came up with.👍

Well i am totally not saying your guys opinions are wrong, just giving mine. I think the wet circuit must have had something to do with the acceleration, you can not enter corners as fast as usually :)
