Happy new year everyone.
I hope i am Competitive this event. I have a horrible headache and just drove a few laps around madrid with mazda an tjger a few days ago.
Didnt have time to setup my car. But i guess i will be fun with reverse grid:P.
Hoe is the grid of the first race decided?

Probably by the track officials at Madrid. ;)

As a reminder there will be 10 minutes of practice between each race.

So once the track location has been changed the count down will begin.

Is the event starting at 7 pm or 8 pm (EST)?

:gtpflag:GOOD RACES GUYS!:gtpflag:

Those cars are fun to drive and all the races had a battle going on from start to finish! and the Gordonnation pit strategy?!:eek::eek:
AMAZING!!

I wonder if any one else borrowed that strategy?:odd:
Oh yea Tjger did and it was a really close finish with so much mayhem going on at the same time!!

Thanks guys for this awesome night
I had a lot of FUN!!

Was great fun tonight:bowdown:
I am pretty happy with myself considering i only could practice 2tracks a little bit. 1 win 1 second place was more than i excpeted.
Probs to all of you was a pretty awesome night. And a lot of you guys are really talented drivers:tup:

I would not be a german though if i wouldnt find something what was not that great in my opinion.

Penaltys they were so stupid. Just from my perspective. First race for example 3 people in the front. 1 spins the other cant avoid a crash because he is on his back. He gets the penalty and is going ghost mode so the third can pass withou penalty. I was the third in that race i won the race because of that wasnt the best win for me.

Same with the shortcuts. Eveyone was cutting a million corners in spa without getting a penalty blancimont phouphon entry in eau Rouge etc
But when you get one wheel on the white line on the exit on eau rogue u get a penatly. Same in monza.
On the other hand i ruined team eh race in bathurst with a stupid move which was clearly my fault and he spinns out. And i didnt get any penalty.

Nevertheless it was a great racingday for me. But i think we are all fair and ckean drivers we dont need that system and if we crash someone which happens motorsport we are fair enough to wait for him or to apologize if it is a racing accident.

Still big compliment for tiger for putting it together.

The penalty system needs a major overhaul, think I've seen more than a few threads pop-up on the forums about it. I was getting shortcut penalties on the tight downhill left turn at Bathurst. I mean there is barely room to even get a wheel off the track in that section.:banghead:

But all round great racing. The highlight of my night was holding off Arveena for 4+ laps at Redbull ring before he finally passed me in turn 1. Impressive all around. I'm thankful I get to race with such professionals.:gtpflag:

For me, I enjoy every single race from start to finish. doesn't matter big or small.
Tonight all races were awesome, I don't know you guys but for me start from second race to the end, my hand sweating and my t-shirt my hair are wet, keep drinking water and cool down myself. (no beer this time)
people show up to the race are awesome specially SMC had big impovement:tup:👍👍👍👍
Tjger as usual create amazing event race:bowdown::cheers::cheers:

:gtpflag::gtpflag:THANK YOU GENTLEMEN :gtpflag::gtpflag:

I know we're all still debriefing from some serious fun, but I'd like to possibly inject a little more fun. I just changed my signature on the forum to have my series' website in it as a link. I'd like it if you guys checked it out because it's something I think you'd enjoy quite a lot and the new season starts this Monday at 7 PM Eastern if you can make it.

Penalties.
I agree with everyone.

In GT5 penalties seem more accurate at the setting: Weak.
Today and tonight if anyone wants to join me. I'm going to play around with the 'weak' setting.

For now I'm working on next week's January 8th Casual Night. Unless tarkus1 makes a quick return.

Dont think it will make a difference. I think the the penaltys are coded based on speed difference thats the main problem. So if you are equally fast and put someone in the dirt on the straight you eont get a penalty but if someone slides and you hit him with a speed difference you will. And with the cutting its because you can drive with four wheels over a curb on those bubblegum tyres called racing soft. You should spin but you dont because your car has too much grip so there is no penalty area for example turn 5 in spa or Second chicane in monza. Where you can flat out go over super high curbs and bumbers. You cant do that with other tyres

You're right.
The short cut penalty is the same in either 'Weak' or 'Strong' settings.
Its the collision penalty that's wrong.

If we get a chance today/tonight we'll play around with it.

I got lucky. OKC is under freezing ice warning. so I'm grounded at home.  :gtpflag:
