Tonight was a prime example of why I attend casual night all the time. Yes, we can be casual and just BS, talk smack and mess around. But there are instances of pure competition and challenge that get the adrenaline flowing that complete the cycle of awesome. Having fun has been the cornerstone of casual night and tonight did not disappoint.

Hey guys, GTP ES Spinning Arrows update. The race start is actually at 9am Eastern Time and ends at 1pm. Drivers are being finalized and fast laps have been set, we're nearly ready to go.

This is an event organised on a grand scale which our club has been able to send a team to.
The team will be racing against some of GTPlanet's elite drivers.
It's not something that the rest of us can join at this stage, although the future is another matter.

8:04am CST --- one team made a driver change... Alex holding 5th in class and 9th overall after falling to 10th being pestered quite a bit... driving in tight traffic... now has a bit of breathing room
8:06am CST --- SAC 5th in class 8th overall due to LMP3 class early driver change
8:09am CST --- top 4 GT4 cars have extended fairly sizeable gap / Alex pestered in 5th - watching rear view mirror
8:12am CST --- LMP3 leader getting ready to lap the field...
8:16am CST --- SAC into 4th in class 7th overall - quite a gap to the top 3...
8:21am CST --- alex 2:13.6 / 3 others in the 2:12s / everyone else slower

9:18am CST --- most gt4 cars 7s and 8s in the front... SAC PIT strategy working good as I'm sure EHteams tires are fine... Gap is widening...
9:20am CST --- PIT late full - lots of driver changes for GT4s - should see some shuffling
9:25am CST --- the top GT4 car pits back to back laps after damage
9:28am CST --- 1hour and 30min in -- clear skies SAC 6th in class 10th overall
9:35am CST --- 4 GT4 cars on the same lap -- 2 cars including the SAC Nissan 1 lap behind the top 4 gt4 cars, one GT4 car 2 laps back and last place 21laps back... SAC 10sec behind 5th

9:41am CST --- SAC separates from the xbow - commentators comment on fast times

9:53am CST --- grid not updating, scrolling ticker only updating on the hour... cant tell where we are... hoping for a refresh at the half way mark... 6min to go... may quit commentating as they aren't showing our car ever and cant tell really where we are lap wise or time to pit etc... done watching... now want to race... watching the arrows seems like the whole race we're in deep action...

9:58am CST --- SAC Nissan catches great draft to narrow the gap to 2 cars ahead - clear rear view mirror and EHTEAM in the mirror of the 2 in front that he's closing in on...
10:00am CST --- half way mark - EhTeam CHARGING HARD

10:02am CST --- great driving from EHTEAM you will never see... closed the gap... one GT4 car in the pits

10:22am CST --- ok I lied I couldn't turn it off..... when the commentators scroll through the list of cars to choose from... EHTEAM was the 6th car on the list... ?? not sure that means we may be 2nd in class... its possible....
10:28am CST --- coming up on 90min to go... have no idea where our driver is, what position, very minimal updates from commentators on anything other than the LMP3 cars
10:29am CST --- GT4 CAR 82 PENALTY GIVEN FOR EXCEEDING 65MIN STINT LIMIT!!!!
10:31am CST --- unsure if EHTEAM is even on this race track anymore... haven't seen him in maybe 45min... zero coverage... watching patiently to try to see where he even is on the track...

10:37am CST --- EHTEAM sighting - running solo... no one 5 seconds in front or behind... just focused on setting laps.. 2 cars battling behind a ways back

the battle was very tight with couple XBow, luckily the car handles very well.

have to admit though it wasn't my best driving but since there's traffic and the track restriction, I rather be safe than risking go off or a possible penalty.

to my surprise the RH last for 30 laps thus I can save a pit-top.

and yes, the competition is strong!

Guys,
If any of you are not currently paying attention to this race going on right now, I highly recommend it. This is very exciting.
Regardless of the outcome of this race, we all have to be proud as hell of our drivers.

great driving! didn't really show much of the gt4 cars... but was watching your arrow and you were pestered the whole time... I will make sure you get credit for your NO PIT strategy we will see how it plays out with leg 2!!
the xbows just don't goof up and just are like mosquitos

the Xbow really gain some distance at the corner(s), but they are just too much underpower on the straightaway, thus as long as i can hold them up at the corner, then i am pretty much safe after the exit.

EHTeam should be able to gain some time or places, i believe he can just pit once.

While alex was doing the first stint I couldn't help but go practice some more to prep myself. I ended up finding a way to make the car handle a bit better for me, so I was very happy with it in the race. I got screwed on the driver change though, I was watching the broadcast to know exactly when alex had hopped out. Well just the wifi in my house crapped out probably 30 seconds before he got out. So I had no idea when to get in, I ended up waiting until is was always showing 15 in the room and then got in.

I had a few hiccups but no spins because it was really easy to lose even 2 seconds in a lap to just slightly bad lines.
