My god that was a superb night of racing.

That right there deserves its own line, it was just that good. Here's another that deserves its own line.

Thank you Mazda for taking my idea and turning it into this brilliant event.

Honestly, I haven't had this much fun racing online since @Ole ran the Bracket a Death. The car choice was superb, the track choice was superb (who would have thought Motegi RC could be so fun), the racecraft was brilliant. If I could bottle and sell the feeling these races gave me, I would be a billionaire in less than a month. AND THEN, there was the accidental timing choice of the first race, I couldn't help but notice as the race wore on how cool everything looked as the sun was setting. I believe at one point I actually said to myself 'That's :censored:ing beautiful' and it really was. The sun was setting, which was slightly hidden by hazy clouds, but then further on there was a light fog coming from the lake outside the hairpin and it all just combined with the track action for what was probably the best race experience I've had in my whole online career.

Then there was the second race, and boy was it a cracker, if only there was a replay to watch. In the first few laps myself @S_Bridge @alcheng and @Blackmagic60 had a tremendous battle for the lead, but then as things settled down, if only a bit, we became a line of cars waiting to pounce on the soonest mistake. Eventually Alex would have a spin on the last corner that took him out of contention, and Mallet would fade away slowly, but still close enough to capitalize on any mistakes that just didn't materialize. However, gordon, refused to let me go anywhere and for the entire race stayed within 2 seconds of my rear bumper, and boy did it pay off for him. I had 2 missed shifts during the race which caused me to drive harder to regain my cushion. Being a one make race on spec tires with no pit stops however, that came back at the end to bite me. With 12 minutes to go I held a lead of about 1.5 seconds, with 5 minutes remaining I held a scant few car lengths. The drafting, defending, faking that went on in the final 10 minutes was epic, but alas I had only made one of my 2 missed shifts in the race. On the final lap after the tight right hander leading to the exit of the oval, I missed, and with gordon already alongside, there was nothing I could do but watch him pull ahead 3 car lengths to the next braking point. A lead which he nearly gave up on the right angle corner leading back to the inside of the oval, but he gathered it all back up and finished the race just 0.493 seconds ahead, a number forever ingrained in my head to remind me to never miss another shift and be kinder to my tires.

That, ladies and gentleman, is how the Spinning Arrows roll.

That was a great race last night and Thank you for all of you and make it happen

Special Thanks for EH Team give us some idea and we can put them together

It was a great race last night!!!

Congrats to EH_Team and Gordon, the winner of Midfield and Motegi!! Both driven a brilliant race!!

To myself the both races were sweet then bitter

I was quite happy to qualify 2nd on both races, which mean I should have some clean air at the start since the first row. However, at Midfield, Mazda made a brilliant start and jumped from 3rd to first. After he took the lead he started to pull away from me, somehow, it's interesting, I don't have the kind of traction I should have with RS tires, yes, I know it's a digital world but my car just don't have the traction in that RS!!! (I have faster laptime with RM than RS) :boggled:

Slowly I saw Mazda became smaller and smaller on my windshield and I saw Squatch7 getting bigger in my mirror... :scared:

There were.. many laps of tight battle with Squatch7, where I also saw EH_Team caught up on us...

With two different driving line between Squatch7 and myself, there were many laps Squatch7 would have passed me but then I "close" the door and let the battle keep going. To Squatch7 for the fair and square gentleman driving/battle.

The only glitch of the race... oh well, my pit box was one of those at the back which means I didn't have enough time to finish the pit menu thus I lost 3-4s in the pit box. Otherwise, the rest was quite straight forward.

And not bad for a 3rd place finish. :)

Motegi was another story, sweet start but with an disastrous ending..... :odd:

Again, qualify 2nd on the grid was a nice result, the start was clean and I saw some loose tail with Mallet thus I could pull up alongside him at the short straight after the 2nd corner...

Braking into the 3rd corner, which is the double left hander, I got bumped after the 1st left and had to brake heavily to avoid the gravel..

Not good because the whole pack was right there, I found myself dropped from 2nd to 4th/5th after the incident, and I found myself alongside with Squatch7... again...

Some battle with Squatch7 and luckily I found a way to escape and slowly I caught up to Mallet who was running 3rd...

I know I could get close to Mallet and eventually could make a move.. however, my consistency gave up on me at the last chicane... found myself a tad too heavy on gas on the exit and I had the rear wheel on the curb... and that's it.... :ouch::ouch::ouch:

Squatch7 passed me right away... so as Mazda....

Although I was able to regain my position from Mazda and slowly catching up on Squatch7, but with two additional driver's error... I have to settle for a disastrous 6th place finish... :ouch::ouch::ouch:

But hey, I was having some great battle with Mazda and Squatch7 on both races!!! Some interesting "catch me if you can" driving with Mallet at Motegi!!!:bowdown:

Most importantly, we had some big laughing during the race!!! We had fun!!!

a BIG thank you to SAC!!! another great event that bring lots of excitement and laughter!!:cheers:

Same question, when and what is the next event????

I'll be back... stronger!! ;)

I know I had a great time with a couple battles in race 1 between mallet and myself then myself and kingdom at the end. Then even though I didn't participate in the 2nd event I had just as much fun watching the battles. Most of my time in the 2nd race was split between the Kingdom/Demon battle and Gordon's overtaking of what must have been an exhausted Eh Team at the very end. As it was put last night "a half second split the first 2 drivers in a 50 minute race".
That's impressive and must have been tough keeping that pace.

Congrats to all though and especially EH Team and Mazda for their efforts putting it all together.

I have a feeling that S2000 will be finding its way into the next casual night somehow.
just a feeling though.

What a couple of races last night the first race for me very uneventful went with a 50KG heavier car which has 13 more HP then the rest of field and started on RM tires first few laps had the battle with tarkus then pulled away and it was an uneventful 5th place until the pit to put on RS and was able to jump and actually pull away from squatch and finish 4th

Second race oh boy had a terrible setup and chose to make one last change to the ride height and it drove like a miracle me and EH probably swapped the lead 2 or 3 times there in the first few laps then EH pulled away as soon as tarkus1 was in my passenger seat or sitting on the hood to slow me down lol. But 50 straight minutes every checkpoint, every lap i was less then 1.8 behind Eh both of us driving all out pouring sweat waiting for a mistake to happen. i put more downforce on the car then Eh did by the look of it since i could make up time through the S curves and the chicane and braking just a touch later which could of been the decider.

But at the end of the day some may agree some may not but it could be the best S.A.C race ever but only if tarkus and or kingdom was able to save the race so we can try and view it again.

great job to all the racers last night and enjoy some fun casual next week.

IDEA: most likely since the Euro world Tour is next but the next enduro race i don't know if mazda or eh team tests or anything for them try out the Cup cars there's only like 4 of them or so Lupo, mmR, Golf, beetle i believe, bring the PP level up to 475-480 they cant be run together but i did a season league with the 4 before and they can turn into quite a battle

Just so you know, I worked out for weeks to shred those extra few lbs just so I wouldn't weigh your car down. Granted the friction on the hood couldn't be helped as I am after all, only human. I also did have a rare sighting of @alcheng in my neighborhood ready to deliver some BBQ pork and I turned him down. Knowing that the added weight may have a negative impact on your performance.

I did purposely postpone the delivery on the BBQ Pork to @tarkus1 this time since I foresee the disadvantage the extra weight that's going to add onto the him.. and also I am trying to avoid to be the reason in case he doesn't win the race...:lol:

And as usual... @tarkus1 sweep the whole field on Thursday night in both races and we can only showoff ourselves in his rear mirror.... :banghead:

This is something interesting and I've got some info from Mazda last night and would like to share with you guy, because it seems there's a bug/glitch in the GT6 software....

Mazda and I was talking about the S2000 race last and I told him I couldn't keep up with him on the 1st-stint, to my surprise, Mazda told me I was using RM on the 1st-stint, it is what it displays in his replay about my car. The funny thing is, I started my race with RS, and on my own screen, it says "RS"!!!

Thus, on my screen, it shows I am using RS, but on the replay from another driver, it shows RM!!

I didn't save the replay so I cannot check for myself...

And I believe this bug was also on my qualify.

I don't know how this happen but I can tell you guys what I did and maybe it's the reason:

During practice I first start with a set of RS and tried for a couple laps, then I exit back to the event menu and go to setting and put on a set of RM, just to remind myself how's the driving with RM is like.

When @tarkus1 hit the qualify button, I went back to the pit and change back to RS.

By the time my car left the box, but still cruising in the pit lane, the timer was done.

Thus I started the qualify, with RS display on the screen, and my best time was 1:07.xxx, some 1.5s+ off from my usual RS, I tried for couple laps and I notice it doesn't feel like RS...

Thus I went into the pit and did a tires change, on the pit menu, it says I am using RS, I chose the same RS and went out, 1:05.8xx.

So I went into the race, having RS on my screen, but the driving wasn't like RS. And now Mazda can confirm that I was actually on RM.

weird, eh???

thank you Mazda... I hope this info is useful for all of us in the future event.

I believe, during practice, we have to change the tires in the setup menu instead of the pit, otherwise, the actual compound the game calculates is different than the one it displays on the screen.

Thus basically I was using RM the whole race on Thursday. :scared:
