Sport Truck's 470PP

Easily won all the races with the Chev SSR so tried the Midget just for fun. Came in a very credible 3rd at Indy, miles ahead of 4th but 30 secs behind the Tacoma's.
Little trouble getting to 3rd, but could never improve on my time with the leaders.
Not the most exciting or interesting race, but it is what you make of it.

Ok, whatever you say all knowing one.

 I politely as I could pointed out an error Wilso had made three times in one short post, which indicates he doesn't quite get the usage of apostrophes and briefly explained why. You know, trying to help out another user?

And yes, I get the irony of my one missed apostrophe and one letter left off the end of a word in my post, but there was need for you to jump down my throat

If you consider what I said to you as jumping down your throat, you had better grow some thicker skin son. I was being mild and just pointing out to you that before you go correcting others, make sure you are correct first. Don't be mad at me because you made yourself look foolish.

OK, I seem to have misunderstood the tone of your previous post. I normally interpret something like "Whatever you say, all knowing one" as pretty condescending. Moving along now, nothing to see here.

That would be me being a smartass, not jumping down your throat. I'm out. Peace.

Haven't had a chance to do these seasonals yet myself but thought since the SSR is currently in the OCD the following tune might be a good place for someone to start with. Just adjust the final gear to give an indicated top speed that's about 10mph higher than you expect to reach with drafting and enjoy the ride!👍👍

Chevrolet SSR '03 "Super Spooky Rod"

So when DigitalBaka announced his 1st Annual Fall Roadster Battle! most people immediately thought of cars like the Mazda Miata and the Honda S2000. A few were a bit more creative with cars like the BMW Z4 and the reborn MG's. But for Harvey Wallbanger the word Roadster didn't evoke thoughts of small convertible sports cars, but instead he got visions of classic Hot Rods, Model Ts with flat head V8s, High Boys with Chevy 350 small blocks, as Harvey puts it "real roadsters".
Luckily for everyone Harvey isn't the only one to think like this.
A few years back some creative types at GM decided to try their hands at creating a unique pickup truck with retro styling and modern musclecar performance.
Harkening back to the late 1940s when the newly designed C3100 pickup truck helped the U.S.A. get back on the road after World War II and made the small truck a regular part of the American passenger car market and not just a work vehicle. With styling cues inspired by 50 years of Hot Rodding and a newly designed all aluminum V8, the SSR was born as a show vehicle.
To the shock of many and the general delight of motorheads everywhere Chevrolet did the nearly unthinkable and actually placed it into production virtually unchanged from that first concept car.
After placing calls to his fellow outlaws Harvey acquired a couple of mint examples that were soon being given the Wallbanger's special attention in the Outlaw Motorsports Garage. First excess weight was trimmed and certain components were relocated for improved weight distribution. Improved intake and exhaust manifolds combined with an upgraded air filter helped produce a small boost in HP and torque. Then a complete reworking of the drivetrain and suspension completed its transformation into a true corner carving roadster capable of running with all those little convertible sportscars.
With its hand rubbed Fluorescent Green paint job evocative of the ectoplasm from the movie "Ghost Busters" and its first photo run of Autumn Ring falling on Halloween, Harvey christened it the "Super Spooky Rod".
Like Casper the friendly ghost drivers will love this truck, while drivers of all those little convertibles will be scared half to death by its ghoulishly sharp handling and snarling V8, as it eats up the road on pace with them!:scared:

Good effort to those attempting with the Midget. I did a 9 min Nordschleife lap some time ago with RH tyres, I dare say with better track knowledge you could lose 20/30? Secs. I doubt a win would be achievable here with SH.

I think Lewis_Hamilton is right about the balance of weight in the PP equation. Almost always you are much better off with more power.

I've used a lot of light weights for fun in a- spec races and have resorted to better tyres in order to beat the AI on many occasions. I still enjoyed beating the Dome with the lowly Honda Z though:lol:

Found that this tune is good but the gear ratios need rethinking. No top speed. But still managed to come first by 1.5secs with it at Rome circuit

Check my note above the tune. I recommended adjusting the final gear for a proper top speed for a given track.👍👍
Also since it was tuned on SM tires some minor tweaking of the suspension will likely help improve performance. Consider this as a starting point and adjust to suit your driving style and the course.:D

Whew! Mt Aso is one tough challenge. For those struggling for traction, increasing the suspension height somewhat helped me.

Easy seasonal but fun :) Won every race with my Dodge Ram tuned to 470pp (later I checked with 450pp and still managed to win). Finally pickups have been put into use :)

Easy in the Dodge Ram and impossible in the Midget which is a shame. Still, a couple of million and a pretty Corvette, and the Nurb is always fun, especially in a vehicle so slow and well-behaved that I can do a whole lap without going off. I won't be going back to this one though unless somebody proves me wrong and wins one in the Midget.

Well,if someone can find a line-up without the Tacomas then the Midget would be right in the mix.

im haveing a hard time with this im running a dodge ram tuned to I think 430pp trying to get the double cash and the two toyotas are killing me

I'v got a truck set to share if anyone needs one to do these events. Nothing fancy, just a decent base tune that can get the job done rather easily in all races. Send friend request to my main, cargorat323, if interested. Peace.

Adjusted the final gear down to 3.550 and had a blast. A great ride around Mt Aso, an easy win once I got used to the track and how to ease it through a couple of particular off-camber turns, but otherwise I found I could take it nearly full throttle most of the way. Very Nice!!! 👍

Left at 3.550 final, did hit the limiter at the 'Ring, but still good enough to win comfortably. It rides very nicely through the undulating tracks.

Pretty boring / disappointing. Only 5 choices (excluding the Midget), and always the same lineup. Tried all 5, and the Toyota was naturally the best, therefore has the best chance at winning at the lowest PP.

Yeah I agree, just did 3/5, so bored can't continue. How hard is it to create seasonal Aspec events with weather/damage/tyre wear/time transitions etc?
The content is all there already. These seasonals could have provided some really great Aspec events, instead they've been completley mediocre, total missed oppurtunity.

This was an amazing tune! Thanks. These races aren't fair with this little beast.

Glad to hear you've both enjoyed the tune and it has done good for you.👍👍

Been sick and unable to play GT5 the last few days so haven't been able to make any needed adjustments to the SSR myself.:(:ill:

Dodge ram with a good tune makes this series really easy.

imo....two things with the seasonal events - make sure gearing set correctly and don't make silly mistakes, like going off the track.

Yea, kinda a "thank you Captain Obvious" post.

I'm defenetly not a tuner, and an average driver at best, but this 430PP setup for the Tacoma worked just fine for me :)

takomtuning.jpg

Just logged in yesterday after a long time and decided to give it a whirl...

got 1st with a 425PP Silverado on the Ring and got just a tad over 1mil credits and 100k exp while at 110%... Gonna wait till I bring it up to 200% so its gonna be some nice $$$ 👍

Gonna try to actually tune it to see if i can go even lower...

Does putting a weighted ballast at the rear of the truck effect performance (positively) ?Obviously it would in real life with the SVT (being a FR vehicle) so having weight over the rear tires would allow better traction for the wheels applying the horses, but I'm not familiar with how weight effects power output in GT.
