Sport Truck's 470PP

hazellnut134
I've done them all with my fully tuned Dodge RAM, no setup needed.

Really? I tried and did the first two with it but I can't get it to turn properly. I lose way too much speed on corners :/

Rome:
SVT F-150 I was +5sec, 3 after lap 3
SSR '03 I was +18sec, 3 after lap 1.5

Got the high hp and under the pp limit, but still can't chase em down.

Ran all trucks (except the Midget) on Rome at 470pp. All were able to get the lead by at least the 4th lap, if not the 3rd. In order of fastest to slowest:

1) Tacoma: Avg 1:21 lap
2) Ram: Avg 1:22 lap
3) F150: Avg 1:22.5 lap
4) SSR: Avg 1:23 lap
5) SST: Avg 1:23 lap

I just applied every reversible upgrade and was at 456pp, I think you really have to push the car as it's 4WD and will never spin out. I didn't change the gearing or anything apart from upgrades.

I maxed out the car and had to detune it down to 470. I'll give it another go

Edt: failed miserably haha, I can't catch the tacomas I. Suzuka circuit

This is frustrating. I tried with the SSR and it was even worse on Suzuka. Those are all the trucks I have, done with this seasonal.

Did you try my tune I posted for the SSR?
Others have said they had good luck with it once they adjusted the final gear...:odd:

A few tips, turn on SRF, you can cut the track in a lot of spots on indy and cut on two spots on suzuka, and drive dirty. I did them in a fully tuned Ram that I just limited the power down to 470pp and it was so easy it was boring.

Anybody have the tuning particulars for the Ram for running the Ring?

I used a pretty basic suspension tune and I thought it handled really good. Full customize suspension, all I did was set front camber to 1.5 and rear to .4 and the truck is fully modded with power limited.

I have, and I finally got up to 2nd spot after increasing the hp/pp. Its just trying to run them down before I'm out of laps is the downfall.

Do not detune the engine more than 10% as the max Hp will drop. Add weight instead. You need high top end speed. I used Tacoma (451pp)and overtake at early half of 5th lap. Need to draft other cars as AI top speed/acceleration is higher. If using driving line, try not to brake at many red segment. Just downshift.

I have not. I'll give it a shot later and see how that goes. Thanks.

Yea I cut the track on the 2nd to last turn, but where is the other advantageous spot?

Will try 👍

Cut turn 3. Just go straight through that huge patch of grass to your left after the first 2 turns. Those trucks will accelerate just as well on grass as on tarmac.

Oh, and one thing you can do to make cornering easier is to buy the all the weight reductions, then go to your ballast and add it all back, moving it all to the rear. Evening out the weight helps a lot with the trucks.

I did this as you were probably typing it. The sand pit however sadly slows em down, though :( Still placing 3rd, I think I just get mad after the third lap. I'm cutting down at least 5 secs the first three laps, then either gaining or losing a second or barely moving anywhere in the last 2 :/

Your SSR tune was awesome, i just tweaked the final gear to 3.500 and smashed the opposition everywhere, easily.

Have you tried cutting that chicane on Suzuka (turn #16 (see map)). As you're coming down the back straight take the fast left-hander like normal but as you straighten out keep to the center/right of the track then brake earlier than you normally would for the chicane. Turn slightly to the right as if you're just doing laps on Suzuka West to cut the grass. Aim your truck towards the apex of Turn 17 and power out down Turn 18 towards the finish line.

I ran all the races with the Ram which had all power upgrades/weight reduction and untuned fixed suspensions. I power limited the Ram down to I think 455-460pp?

Suzuka was a hard one. I was cleared of the pylons by lap 3 and just went Tacoma hunting for the rest of the race. Just be very careful while turning in/out of corners. I found (at least for me) that if i clipped a tiny bit of grass I'll be drifting.

Wait.. I think said you're already doing this. Nevermind then. Have you tried taking the left hand sweeper after the back straight a bit wide to use the run off area? Not sure how much of a benefit that is though.

Add an LSD and the Torque diff thing, move the power 70% to the rear wheels, soften the front dampers by 1 point and the front springs by around 3. This should make the dodge easier and quicker in the corners. As a heavy 4WD its not the best in corners but moving the bulk of the power to the rear makes it handle more like a car.

Ps. Add all the non pp increasing stuff such as twin clutch etc. Shorten the gears to the min then move 6th to 140mph (or whatever that is in km/h!) Against the tacomas acceleration is the key here. If you want to try my dodge i'll put it online. Send me a FR daddybats
