What a great weekend!!!. A road trip that will forever be in my memory.

Started at the boarder. Aero told me, Don't worry, just tell them your going to see a buddy and going to the races. You will be waived thru. Yeah right. 20 minutes later after two, not just one Canadian boarder officials , told me I was all set, you can put your stuff back. My stuff!! Lets see. My glove box was emptied on my front seat, along with my center console. My luggage was opened and spread on the table. The golf clubs removed from my golf bag. My bottle of Vodka was taken, (then returned). At least they did not find the other two bottles.

Thursday night met at the home of Aero and then Lobban came riding up on his sweet looking Honda. No sooner did he arrive when he realized he walked out of his house without his bag luggage. Meeting these two guys was also the best part of the trip.

Yeah that lady in the parking lot with the dog. Mike actually did have a hammer in hand. After Mike made it very clear his intention to her stupid moves. She walked over and thanked him for his concern. Are you fn kidding me!!! You thank this guy who threatened to smash your window, only in Canada.

The Spud Shack. This still has me completely baffled. We stopped for lunch and the owner behind the counter had the three of us figured out. Three wise guys. Talking 🤬 back n forth. Before I know it the owner was talking about pinkpot and had us smelling the joint. It gets better. He later came over to our picnic table and joined us for lunch and lit up that joint!!! Only in Canada!!!

Friday night is still a blur. Or should I say Saturday morning. 2:00AM before the old guys called it quits. Aero, does he have a new walker or did we have an earthquake and he was simply making sure the chair would not tip over?

Me snore? Mike your tent fell down from your snoring. The most challenging part was bending down and trying to unzip the tent screen. Would have been a lot easier if my tent would have stopped moving around. Woke up 5 hours later, no hangover for me!!. Hell, I was was still hammered, the hangover came around 5 hours later.



The racing was loud and close. Just amazing. I took a walk to the paddock and soon realized I forgot my camera, Dumb azz move. The only car I did not see up close was the Vette, (already on the track)



Grimm thanks again for the invite, Who knows maybe next year you will bring your new baby. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly.



The young guy, Eh team, had the best set up. This kid is going far. He works smarter not harder.



Memory of a life time.
 
I had an absolute blast hanging out with these boys. The only regret of the weekend is that more of the crew couldn't be there. Phile almost had his job done for him, Mike and Steve almost went in the fire more than once on Friday night just from stumbling around. Dave cooked bacon for everyone and kept his promise of putting bacon in mouths. Corey, oh Corey, I took a picture of him sleep hiccuping trackside and then it magically vanished seconds later.

The cars, oh the cars. The Mazda is such a pretty car and I got my best picture of the weekend of it I think. Actually hearing the LMP2 cars was a thing to behold, my god they are loud but the loudest by far was the Porsche GTE, it almost drowned out the rumble of the Corvette completely and it was second loudest. Race car noises are the best wake up noises. The F4 looked like us on a friday night, all caution barely any racing that was the only bad on track event of the weekend.

It was a great weekend overall and I can't wait until the next big get together with what I hope is more or all of the group.

Tonight is the series to end all series (not really, there will be plenty more). It's the Meatball Meetup! We usually use casual nights to blow off steam, but @Eh Team put together an entire series for us to all have fun and put the MADNESS back in SRM!

The only thing you should take seriously is following the rules laid out. If everyone is on the same page it will be that much more fantastic.

Hope to see some butts tonight! Preferably butt's with B's tattooed on them. ;)

Eh Team's Meatball Meet Up

Each race of this series has a completely different format to the last so please read this post carefully.

Penalties: Off
Aids: All
Tire wear: Real
Fuel: Real
Damage: Visual Only
Clean Racing: Optional*

*Please do not go out looking for trouble, however if you are hit by someone accidentally, you may retaliate as you see fit.

Car of Destructive means: Ford Mustang Trans AM

Week 1

Race 1: Watkins Glen International Short
20 Laps
Weather: Overcast, Random, Random, Random
Format: Stop and Go Race
Da Rules: Every lap you drive you must come to a complete stop between the Sahlen's bridge at the start of pit road and the Finish line. Using other cars to aid in your slowing efforts is permitted.

Race 2: Sonoma National
13 Laps
Weather: Clear
Format: Relay Race
Da Rules: The field will be split into 2 car teams and grid spots will be predetermined prior to the start. There will be a pace lap to form the grid properly, after the pace lap the teammates on the pit road side enter the pits and stay there for the time being. The teammates on track start single file and race for 11 laps, when they are coming to the last lap they pit and stay there, the teammate who is sitting in the pits leaves once the first teammate stops in their box, this driver then runs to the race end. The driver sitting in the pit lane waits until the teammate on track starts their last lap and then leaves the pit lane to finish the race. The combined race time determines the winner of the race.


Week 2

Race 3: Hockenheim Short
22 Laps
Weather: Overcast, Thunderstorm, Random, Random
Format: Flagpole Race
Da Rules: Every lap of the race you must drive around the "flagpole" which is located at the end of the back straightaway. Instead of taking the hairpin as normal drivers go straight through on the escape road and around the grass island back to the escape road which they drive through again but go straight towards the arena. Warning: High speed collisions are inevitable around the flagpole, you have been warned.



Race 4: Road America with chicane
15 laps
Weather: Fog, Random, Random, Random
Format: Joker race
Da Rules: In this race we will be using the chicane off to the left before the kink to the back "straight" for most of the race. You must only once during the race take the normal kink corner, all other laps you are to use the chicane. Warning: Very high speed collisions are possible at the kink between Joker and non-joker lap drivers, you have been warned.



Week 3

Race 5: Oulton Park International
Laps dependent on participant numbers but a maximum of 30 will be in place
Weather: Rain, Overcast, Heavy Cloud, Random
Format: Lap Knockout
Da Rules: Every 2 laps (or 3) the last placed driver is "disqualified" until only 1st place is left running. Drivers who are knocked out may interfere with the remaining cars after waiting to go 1 lap down. Knocked out drivers can interfere however they like.

Race 6: Laguna Seca
10 laps
Weather: Clear
Format: Reverse Race
Da Rules: You must drive the entire race in reverse, no pace lap to get turned around. How you drive the layout does not matter as long as you are in reverse.

So I'm of the impression some people think tonight's stop and go race is not a stop and go race if you get hit while trying to stop. Please refer to Da Rules of the race.

Wussing out because you get hit doesn't work, you must fully stop. :rolleyes: You can target your aggressor the next time around if you like :mischievous:, but you and he must stop completely between the bridge and the finish line at some point.

As for race 2, I still have not set the grid for the race seeing as there are a total of 5 entrants as of this post, I will set it in the lobby between races then. Also since people are having trouble with this I ask that game chat gets used between tonight's races so I don't have to waste time running between chats to answer last second questions and repeat myself.
 
Im in for the MADNESS, if i fall asleep trackside like Trap did, hope the Marshalls see me! Haha I remeber my first Mosport! ( not really actually, pretty vague?) Sgeti, Aero and Mike, thanks for enjoying my favourite place on earth with me! Eh team, always a pleasure to have you camp with us, hopefully we arent too rowdy for you...lol. Hopefully this is a start of an SRM trackday gathering! Oh plz sign me up for the #55 Ferd Landmine 5000

Awesome race guys!! Man I forgot how fun it is to race with all of you!! I had a blast and it's been a long time since I enjoy a Race in Project Cars lol. Glad to be back and to race with the group once again :cheers:

I was grumpy and didn't have fun the first race because everytime I got hit I got spun into the wall and lost time. :banghead: 2nd race was better if not for landmines. :banghead:

Overall though, I'm liking the series. My only gripe is the time it takes to explain the rules to everyone. @Mike Lobban and @yogi bear , there are no mandatory pits dudes. :lol:

Let's get wild again next week. :nervous:

Wake up call :eek:, had to drive my mother in law into Philly this morning for shoulder replacement surgery , got up at 2:30am :banghead: now we play the waiting game :grumpy:. Good fun last night gang, cant wait to wreck colts again :lol:

I was trying to get you back for that but you were stopping way too close to the finish line for me to safely not cross the line/ not give you a boosty boost... then sgeti tried to get me but just ended up blocking me in the end.

Haha the one time I didn't get put in the wall, I tried stopping right before the line and you plowed into me, giving me that 1:08 :lol:. So I guess thanks? LoL

Not gonna lie, this was way more fun than I thought it was going to be, and I got my first SRM win to boot. (even though @XxGrimxX kept trying to throw it in the trash ;))

Next week... more whiskey.
