So I know @sgohsixthree was interested in this event I did yesterday, I don't know if any others really check the single events section to have seen it. Anyway, I was in a Christmas special race at Bathurst in the Ginetta GT4. It was a pretty damn good race that when it started contained ex-GTP Endurance Series aces Glenalz, TNR FILO, TeamEdge702, and rono_thomas. Two of the best Platinums, One of the best Golds, and another very quick Gold. I was prepared to come 5th in the race, no way in my head was I going to beat these guys, and it sure looked that way after qualifying but for one. Rono must have had a bad setup or not enough practice because he was a non-factor, the other three though, ultra fast. TeamEdge aka Pfeffer, was running 2:13's on race runs and then ran a 2:12.4 in qualifying, meanwhile I qualified at 2:14 flat. Glenalz qualified 2nd at a low 2:13 and FILO somewhere in the 13's as well, just mad fast these guys are.
So lap 1, I hold steady with FILO through turn 1 Glenalz and Pfeffer got into a line pretty quick in that order and then because I was running almost full downforce I fell in line in 4th pretty quick after. Then just after the cutting (that blasted uphill almost hairpin) Pfeffer ended up in the inside wall somehow and slowed down FILO, I managed to sneak into 3rd there and got stuck behind Pfeffer while he was speeding up again. I think he made another mistake somewhere else on the mountain that I snuck past but FILO didn't. After making that pass Glenalz was already out to a 3 second lead. For the next number of laps I watched FILO and Pfeffer get a bit closer only to fall away a bit because of passing attempts on each other, eventually they got it sorted for long enough to pull up to me. Coming into the Chase Pfeffer went for a dive on FILO and tried to get me as well but had to bail quickly to not take us both out, that left me with another sizable gap to them whilst they battled more. FILO ended up making a mistake somewhere and had to pit and then a few laps later retired because he forgot to open his radiator after qualifying. 1 down. Pfeffer kept creeping his way back to my bumper and then slithered past in the last corner I believe. On the next lap I think it was he smacked the inside wall at Sulman Park and then went headlong into the outside wall in a kinda spectacular fashion. I just barely skimmed past this, which all happened before lap 17 which is where my share play footage starts. 2 down. Glenalz kept getting further away lap by lap certainly on route to a win, I recalculated my pit strategy while driving and managed to pit on lap 28 and hopefully take less fuel in the process. I didn't get to set my fuel to the new number though and he ended up with a larger gap than before stops when I came out again.
Nothing interesting was happening between end of stops and 10 laps to go which is where this video picks up. You can find a description of the last 10 laps in the spoiler below if you wish to read it, otherwise, enjoy some hair raising laps around the Mountain.
Nothing really interesting happens until about 8 laps to go at which point Glenalz made a reasonably damage inducing mistake and had to pit to fix it. after his damage was fixed I came out 2 seconds ahead. He then gained a little each lap while I was going that little bit slower due to all the downforce. Then with 5 laps to go I hit the black tire wall going down the esses and my lead dropped to half a second. I was then tailed vigorously for the next 2 laps when he got around me in the second corner. I stayed in his draft for the next 3 laps until the Chase where I intended to out brake him, but he braked later still to attempt to stop me and ended up on the grass allowing me to get by. This made me literally yell across the line "I GOT HIM, I :censored:ING GOT HIM!"
No mechanical damage taken in the race is what won me the race which I would not have won without it being a factor.
Good job buddy!! I was really interested in that event, even though I would have been easily out classed. I forgot about it anyways lol. Kinda want to do something similar....
Tonight we close out the DTM series, and thanks to Br for putting this one together bud 👍. Next week we have a casual night of racing, controled by Mr Mcinnis, he always finds ways to make us work and get roudy . Then after the new year we will have the Ricky Bobby one night stockcar event , so much fun trust me. Following our redneck racing week we will have the Mexxi series which will be announced soon, so stand by! See everyone tonight!
12th series in the books
Congrats Eh Team
Thanks to everyone involved thanks to all that showed up and raced. We have come a long way, and the group meshing well will each other . I hope everyone has a good holidays, and a happy nee year
Great series @Br1mann ! I enjoy driving a car I can actually manage. Seemed like guys had a good time with it as well.
Blah blah blah @GTracerEHTeam wins again, blah blah. Which puts him in a 3-way tie with @mphile77 and @Samsung1998race for most series victories in SRM History! Quite the way to end an AMAZING year of racing with all you awesome dudes!
Really looking forward to 2017 with some more pCars series, and hopefully AC and GTS get their 🤬 together next year for us to do series there too.
Don't forget next week will be a casual-up-to-no-good race night, show if you can! Then 2017 kicks off with the Ricky Bobby One Night Shootout. Hope to see everyone there.
Sort of enjoyed racing that car thanks to EH Team's tune, the first week I couldn't figure out how to make it stop bottoming out and pulled a rare quit because I wasn't enjoying bannochbrae in the slightest. Second week I wasn't in the mood to race and would've missed the first race anyway. Still can't figure out how to save tires in pCARS, don't know how running a one stop race at Sakitto was even possible since I burned off the left front after 8 laps driving semi-conservatively and running mediums.
Looking forward to the "NASCAR" night, should be in my element and I can drive Sonoma and Watkins Glen with my eyes closed but I've never been able to figure out how to stop the rear end from getting light at random in that car. So crossing my fingers someone posts a tune haha...
Are we ever going to run anything untuned? The Sauber C9 and BMW V12 are fun to drive with the stock setup.

We had some great battles in both races! Glad to have you around!!
Yeah, its possible, especially with more and more controller guys picking up wheels. They had to always do tunes to get it feeling right and compete. I'm a big fan of that BMW for sure, next Tuesday "Casual" night might feature it.
