What in the hell PD, Nürburgring? what the 🤬 were you thinking!!?? An uneven, narrow, curvy and long, LONG track to drive a 600+ kph monster which doesn't think twice before slamming you face first against the guardrail at the slightest touch of the steering wheel or turning you 180+ degrees as soon as one of the wheels makes contact with a blade of grass.
5 minutes of pure, unadultered agony, it almost makes me miss GTA Round 4. :banghead:

I decided to swallow a brave pill and grow a pair and drive as fast as my reactions would let me. :P

I was rewarded with a sub 4:30 lap and it was good for 3rd in the world.
How the hell are people able to control this car on this track, it's beyond me since my time is 2 minutes late from gold

4:15.436 was my time at the ring

just drive around in 3rd and 4th gear...if you downshift into second for engine braking, throw it back into 3rd to pull out of the corner with the car stable. On the straights, feel free to hit the gas but slow down early - get on the brakes hard while still straight. I was able to get a 5:51.xxx for at least a bronze. I don't like and I don't ever use the Red Bull cars. I don't find that kind of arcade experience fun. Many do, but I don't. This car is beyond obscene with its power and speed. You're going to think you're going slow because your RPMs are at like 2,000 in 3rd gear, but if you look at the speedometer, you'll be FLYING!! But, the engine isn't revving much, so you don't HEAR much and you think you should go faster...don't. You'll end up crashing. Just drive it patiently. You'll be surprised at how low your lap time is...

This, of course, is advice for people who are just looking to get a Bronze time, get the car for free and move on. I kept crashing, over and over, within 10-20 seconds of my lap beginning. That's because I was driving the car like I was in my C7 Corvette. My brain is used to putting my foot to the floor and hearing loud sounds coming from the exhaust. It took me a while to realize that driving "slow" in this SRT Tomahawk X is still absolutely flying, compared to a "regular" car.

4 attempts and red lapped within 30 seconds. Bought the car instead, saw the pp level and dumped it in the stockyard, never to be seen again.

Can you imagine a one make race with these? *shudders*

It helps a lot if you know the track like the back of your hand. Next I would focus on becoming good at gliding through tight corners while off throttle, and sticking to the track while hitting it hard.

For most parts, try to be smooth with your turn-in to increase average speed without resorting to the brick-wall brakes, which can really hamper you over a long distance. Learn which corners can be taken flat-out.

Otherwise, practice, practice, practice. There's a bit of luck involved in this one as touching the grass = DQ most times.

When I ran a 5:30 I slammed on the brakes a lot and almost stopped a couple times to avoid going off track.

I just took it easy and drove slow, because even when you are going slow in this car it's still pretty fast. I'm on ds3 if that matters.

Ridiculous! I can see why some people would like this. But not me. Totally and insanely unrealistic.
A lot of hair loss just to win a car that a I'll never use again. And no skills that translate to the realistic driving experience either.
The least they could have done is let you keep the paint chip.
Ugh.

My god this is hard. 4 seconds in and I crashed every time lol
Same here. I can't even tell you how many times I didn't even make it to the 2nd turn (the first right hand turn after the lap time begins). I would hit the curbing on the right side of the track at Turn 1 and my car would freak out and I would either spin or slam into the wall. I even rolled the car once...

EDIT: Look ma! No hands!!

Dreading it as it is a track I'm not that good at as I rarely drive it but sounds like it will be fun 👍. Red Bull will now be after more power from power unit both in real life and for their virtual car...

lol I gave up right away and tried the other ones. I smoked the first one, but even the second one is hard

This would have been great, if not for the fact that I DQ'ed at the guardrail turn next to the start/finish on a 5:23 run, about an hour ago, and barely managed a 5:41 after that because I was so frazzled.

It's the rule-mongering that ruins this one.

Edit: I just noticed that there are only about 1,100 people right now that qualified for the bronze and the free car... which seems pretty low- even for after a release. ;)

If it helps any. I use the G25 with the button trick to shorten the turn radius. The two middle red and the triangle together gives you a very quick wheel. Some may find it too twitchy. First lap was a warm up to test the car, second lap was gold and third was 4:07:xxx for 14 in the world. Don't think it will take much to get under 4 but I know the track like the back of my hand. I find the car to be like the final GT Academy car this year. The wheel really thrashes around. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Glad I wasn't the only one to do this - first run and ended with a 5:03 but DQ'd courtesy of brushing the wall on the last turn! And now I can't even complete a lap.
Even worse - just saw the top time - 3:30.

:lol::lol::lol:

This thread is hilarious - great to see you guys being trolled by PD and yet having so much fun.

I took the X to Route X in arcade mode and ran 426mph

Obviously now we all have to take the Tomahawk there.

Yep, I do need to use brakes for this, but not too much brakes. I'm sure this will help me with braking or destroy my normal racing habits lol. It's a beautiful piece of machinery though.

It really is an awesome machine - another VGT that is unique (but seemingly 'real' enough to take the fantasy seriously) and also seems to drive well. It looks a LOT like the LM55, to me, though. Something about Mary . . ..

A big pair of brass ones, lightning quick reactions, a steady set of hands and practice. :D

What if we can't afford brass? Will cheaper ones do? Tin?

In the description for these SRT Tomahawk events it says to hold down the R1 Button for "low drag mode". My R1 Button is assigned to Up-Shift the transmission. Does anyone know what to do in this case?
Use the button you would normally use for Nitrous. You get a tremendous speed advantage.

Mann this is insane.. When you expect such a hyper car even faster and crazirer than Red bull x1, you for sure dont expect that the seasonal is held on the nordschleife.
So i bought the car, i better dont try cuz it aint worth its frustration, so rarter buy it in dealership.
The first two i managed gold, but this one aint worth the try...

I mean why in GT5 didnt they put RB X1 on the Nordschleife rather than Monza, Suzuka, and Nurburgring GP
Ill tell you why!!! Because PD did use their brain back then and it was very hard just on those tracks, but this is an event they created with no brain!!

And question when i bought the Tomahawk X and then i went to the Nordschleife seasonal and scroll down the menu and i see that it isnt marked that i aquired this car, but i bought it???

So is there some difference between the one you win and the one you can buy, cuz its strange that it isnt marked that i have it, but i buyed it

The whole point of the seasonal being on Nordschleife is to give the players a challenge. Remember- this is the fastest car in the GT Series, and PD want to see if people have the reflexes, and throttle control to get a sub 6:00 lap. I mean, if it was set on a track like Monza or Suzuka, it might have been much easier for people to complete the lap, but it would also be easier for the incredibly immature players who love to ram in Red Bull cars- and since this is simply a Red Bull turned to 11, encounters with such players online would suck.

Those are my two cents, I guess.

Not that bad to drive at all.

4:54. Could've pulled off less than 4:20 easy, but just wanted to be careful from the ultra strict penalties.

Also...

How did someone pull off a 3 minute lap? What is this sorcery?
