Read first page bro hopefully its clearer for you đź‘Ť

Why do you keep leading me back to your post. I've already read it. The problem is the argument that we're having. It's not straight and misleading.

Why are you doing this to yourself and to other people in the forum?

Standard cars wont have no cockpit. Start trying to live with it.

Im not doing nothing to myself bro Im simply taking what PD has shown us and analyzing it. As i posted on the first page for the mature and the people who have great arguments to back up their reasoning. I'm not trying to take the negative way into looking into this situation, however i am looking for a great argument backing up the reason folks think standard car don't have cockpit driving view. EX say for example kaz never showed us the Standard cars, but the cockpit driving view of the standard cars which looked plane and generic compared to the ones in GT5P would everybody still be upset? Prob not that much right

While cockpit view is not my sole reason for getting the game (GT1-4 didn't have cockpit and I've played those since the late 90's..), it is a nice addition. Trust me, I will be first in line to buy it November 2nd, cockpits or not.

There has been some conflicting information about the subject though. There has been an article written with a cryptic sentence alluding to cockpit views for both premium and standard cars, the gist of it being premium will be hard to tell from the real thing and standard will have just a recognizable cockpit.

I'd like to remain optimistic about it until it is literally said "standard cars will not have a cockpit view" from someone at PD. Who knows what kind of news we will get from now until November.

i have a feeling..... that PD...... are watching us and how this argument is exploding.

Everyone, try to be fair to PD in your own mind before posting.

But here is my take;

I am even not happy if the reality is that 80% of the cars in gt5 wont have cockpit view,

for the following reasons:
-We have waited 5 years
-It's a ps3 game and i feel like with all the cars in Prologue having cockpit view i feel almost lied to.

Anyway, The reality is those 200 cars are the most detailed cars ever seen in gaming.

I just hope that the remaining 50 unconfirmed cars has f1 cars, Ferraris and more LMP1 cars in the mix.

There are no interior views for standard cars. The windows are tinted in the photos and in the video. Also, in this video there were no images of the interior of no standard car, wonder why? because they have none.

I would really love that GT5 standard cars had a cockpit view, even if it was a PS2 level low res one, but there isn´t.

Regards

My only question is why on Thursday, the official site gran-turismo.com (English version) stated that 800 standard cars would not have a cockpit view. Now when you visit the site, that 1 specific peice of information has been removed from the site.

PD read these forums and possibly have asked to have it removed. A bit of a joke really. The cats already out of the bag.

Also notice how many vids etc you can get off the web but very cleverly theirs not much sound?

OK your point? I have been saying the same thing about standard cars the windows are tinted and theres no representation of thats specific standard car real life interior during replay mode, unlike the premium cars where you can see their interior very easy and the great detail with in the interior from replay mode. This is why i still believe we might get a cockpit race view with standard cars however the interior view will not mimic its real life counterpart

Yah, I notised that too. Maybe they are on to something? GT psp view?

Hey, I remember something. One time, there was a discussion about interiors and people didn't wanted to see the whole dashboard, and they waned to race without the virtual steering wheel.
"why do I need another steering wheel, when I have one in my room?"

I'll be enjoying this game no matter what, just like I enjoy all other GT series.

JDMKING I hope your right about cockpits for standards.
Time will tell I suppose. Can't believe we've just come awy from a games convention and there's still confusion on this subject.

To me atleast it's obvious there's no cockpit.

I can see if we saw a standard car during E3 being driven with all the views being tested and then someone showing video evidence of them switching through driver camera views, and it was no cockpit view. Then i would agree with you, this is not the case though bro. People have made a final judgment on something through a text that nobody can confirm 100% is true. Until i see some hardcore evidence i will keep believing what i wrote on the 1st page đź‘Ť

Since I'm a french Canadian, I did translate it to french and guess what?
"Standard Car "ne correspond pas à la vue de l'intérieur" wich mean (you can also translate thtat to english if needed) "Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view.
BTW I havent included the " at the begining of the Japanese section and when translated, there where there =/

So what are you saying? That does not mean it will not have a cockpit race view
it says "Standard car" Note the parentheses Does not correspond to the interior view. that can mean the interior view of that specific standard car will not fully mimic the exterior/interior during game play/ repaly mode of thats standard car real life counterpart IMO

You know, a part of me kind of hopes that the standard cars don't have an interior at all. The reason being is that, given the reactions the news has had, a lot of people are going to be congratulating themselves for "changing PD's mind" if the game ships with all cars having an interior when they actually did nothing of the sort.

I think the big mix up why many people think interior view means cockpit is, its very common term we use to describe to others what view we drive/race with. EX i tell my bro when playing GT5P "im in interior view with the F40." EX "i Only drive interior view."

When i read that Standard cars wont correspond to interior view i think of it like this Say you are in replay mode watching a standard car rip up the track, while watching the car(with gt race movie camera mode with the great angles) and looking through windshield you will notice the windshield is tinted and that the interior does not correspond to that specific car interior view.

Say your still watching replay mode of your standard car, but you switch the camera angles to cockpit view. During cockpit view the interior view of the cockpit will not correspond to that specific car. This is the way i see PD and other gaming sites refering to Interior view

its true what jdmking is saying, we dont unltimately know. also i have just read some member saying there is cockpit in standard cars, its in the e3 thread post 6092

This is from a member in the E3 thread

GUYS, i finally got some news from IronStar staff

They interviewed GT5 staff at E3

and YES GT5 standard cars will have COCKPIT VIEW!!!
:dopey:

No it not a joke, Those guys from IronStar are there at E3, i sent them an email

"Standard cars in GT5 have cockpit view!" and they said yes standard car will have Cockpit view

NO im not talking about that

here's my email

"Nice E3 coverage, PLEASE find GT5 staff and ask him will "Standard cars in GT5 have cockpit view!"

We are disparate to know this....

He replayed "yes they will have cockpit view"

Can you forward that to my email to me antmiller3@yahoo.com thank you

thank you very much sir đź‘Ť

If I wanted to be annoying I could say interior view is that replay mode we saw from Mimiximax.

But no.

 what are you talking about??? That mode will be only viewable for premium cars because their whole interior is recreated to mimic their real life counterpart

I think what owen meant is.. when you're watching a replay.. and the view you see of the driver's face (as if the camera is attached to the front windscreen) facing back, looking in the rear of the vehicles interior, that will only be available for Premiums.

But I could be wrong.

That's what I'm guessing he means.

Amen.:sly:

What a disapointing for the anti P-D.

Next, undiscover GT5 things for TGS 2010.

But no.

Effectively... that could be called "interior view"...
in mimiximax replays (for example the replays with wrc driver's face) we can see a lot of in-car details, so they're clearly premium cars.
That will not obviously be possibile in standard cars, but it doesn't mean they won't have a plain cockpit view from which we can play like in a normal sim racer

For me it sounds strange considering the twitter interview when Kaz said that interior view for standard cars would be possible if it was something similar to GT PSP - with a blackframe.

Thank you!! Just because these standard cars don't have corresponding interior to their real life like counterpart or like the premium cars, doesn't' mean we wont have a cockpit view. the standard and the premium have interior that can be viewed through the windshield however the standard car are just dark. and not corresponding

This could be the same situation for the cockpit race view the preium will look real and amazing compared to its counterpart while standard will have a generic inside view of the cockpit the while the standard will look generic and plain

After watching the Standard Cars GT5 video on youtube, I honestly don't believe they will have cockpit view. The model quality is just too poor for that, especially compared to the premiums.

I looked at the cars closely during the trailer and to me, they looked copy-pasted straight from GT4 with little or nothing done to improve them (except the shader tweaking). At best I would give them a polygon count of 40000 plus another 10 to 15 thousand for their fully modelled undercarriage (for rollovers). That said, the only thing I could see working as a cockpit view on those models is the black frame :( .

Here are the questions people want to know (including me). Can someone answer them?

Do the standard cars look like crap or can they be appreciated?
What can you compare the standard cars with?
Will the Nissan Skyline be standard or premium?
Will there be an interior view of standard cars at all?

Yeah, from what I've heard so far, I'll second that. Looks like the Standard cars interiors will be just generic shadowed interiors, and I really, really find it disappointing.

However, my hopes are still leading me to believe in a Standard cockpit, similar to Prologue's, nice textures and fully recreated interior, the quality of textures or level of detail would be minor, but still, Standard cars would have decent and unique interiors. I don't like the idea of "generic" interiors.

I know the R32,R33,R34,V35 and V36 will atleast have one variation in premium, that doesn't mean other variatons of that same skyline are gonna be premium just look at the two 69 camaro's.

And for the older skyline's its not looking so good, don't think the KPGC10, 110and R30, 31 will be premium.:nervous:

I hope so too Dan, at least the sentence "Standard does not correspond to the interior view" leaves some room for interpretation it seems ( and was maybe added after the confusion as a possibly misunderstood reassurance ).
Not corresponding therefore could also mean is not related, meaning there's no link between Standard and lack of interior view ( why else use "not" ).

I really hope the Prologue models can be seen as Standard ( seeing the enormous amount of extra detail those Premium models seem to have over the already perfect Prologue models ).
And even if those Standard models haven't got an interior ( which we unfortunately now have to really consider very likely ) I can't see them adding a blacked out PSP style option which probably makes some sense on a small PSP screen but would look very illresolved on a large TV-screen.
And a generic dashboard will never be a substitute as the main reason I liked all these different interiors that they were, well, different ( like all the cars are different )

A lot of people simply seem not to care much apparantly for this lovely feature in my opinion which is much more than purely eye-candy.
But a whole lot fortunately do and I'm now considering GT5 will be shipped without 800 interiors and lowering my expectations because of it.
It really is that important to me as I love cars and all aspects of it ( and the interior design to me, even if it looks drab, is as important an aspect as the exterior styling is ) and I will decide for myself which aspects I love and will miss if not included.
I was fully hyped up, but the buzz I felt is totally gone now and only after this issue is finally fully clarified I will either jump for joy or deal with what's still ( at least partially ) my choice of driving game.
