Thank you everyone for your mature post for the people writing " theres not cockpit view with no legitimate argument please back up your information with concrete proof. IMO Interior view and cockpit view could easly be mixed up. I still strongly say we will get some type of generic Cockpit View Even the psp version had cockpit racing view. When that game came out did they clearly say in GT PSP will have no cockpit view? For you people just basing your argument just because the interior is blacked out this is not strong enough for me. Again PSP cars look nowhere as good as the Standard ones in GT5 from a replay mode, however they still manage to have a a cockpit driving view in that psp version. From all the text i read so far it is not concrete that we will have no standard cars with cockpit racing view

Yeah I think you are right.

Also they have never shown anything of standard cars. E3 they were showing the beauty of premium only I think. Someone should just ask:

All cars cockpit view yes or no ?
If yes, will there he hand animations of gear shift. Yes or no ?
As simple as that

Upscaling will lead to pixelation and more bad quality of image. for eg: try to set an 640*480 image as your desktop background instead of native resolution it will bad as the image is streched.

It is not just GT4 modles upscaled, they will increase texture resolution, tessellation and do other things to improve the quality. Did he specifically say only GT4 models. I read some where he said previous GT games. That could also mean GTHD and GT5P ?

According to IGN, its more than just 'upscaling' guys...I think alot of people are getting this part confused and thinking its just GT4 cars thrown into the mix.

The majority of the cars (more than 800) fall into the Standard category and are made up largely of the rides that have been included in all past GT games. But that doesn't mean they're simple copies. All are painstakingly modeled to take advantage of the PS3's graphics shader. They also sport physics-based damage modeling, and they'll show scratches, dust and dents collected during races.

I'm fine with the Standards, but I don't like the sounds that much. Hopefully between now and the games release they can make them a bit better.

Wait, people are still debating whether standard cars have interiors? I thought this thing was put to bed, it's been made pretty clear that they will not.

Nope This is from a member in the E3 thread

the man from ironstar from whom Sasuki received the cockpit info is a mad man!!!
However, seems like he's popular in the gaming community so maybe we can trust him!

thank you very much sir 👍

The hell? Didn't Kaz pretty much confirm no cockpit view in the Honda interview? Or was he playing with us? Am I going crazy?

Also, who/what is IronStar and why should I trust them/it?

Yeah he did, some people are just finding it hard to take.

Why should you trust that honda interview did you actually see the text? many members felt that kaz got lost in translation and was just agreeing about the GTP PSP cars what set everybody to belive we had no cockpit view for the standard cars was the PD site also read the link this guy knows his games he went to E3 this is his myspace page http://www.myspace.com/wip3ou7

Wip3ou7? He's got a show now? I'm surprised. He's just another youtubber with all the bad that appear to be inherent to youtubbers. I'm not sure if he would lie about such a thing, after all he would only be flamed to death as a PS3 fanboy if he turns out to be wrong (well it's the youtube community we are talking about), but who should I believe? The Man Himself or a youtubber?

Yeah I read the text, seemed as clear as day to me. Just like everything else relevant to GT5 though, I'll believe it when I see it. I'd also be more inclined to believe a legit interview with the game creator than some random dude's myspace page. Until then I'll continue believing no cockpits for standard cars, and at the very best (or worst), we will get GTPSP black frames.

Im just putting up my evidence that can back up my argument that there is cockpit view for standard cars its up to you to read everything and make your verdict

Thats cool bro i never said we were going to get detailed cockpit views like the preiums cars for the standard cars i just need something even if its all blacked out. 👍

If anyone remembers the official release for GT5 Prologue, the cockpit view is referred to as "the all-new interior dash view, featuring full driver animation and gauges that accurately reflect the car’s performance in real-time." None of the info we've had so far regarding GT5, Standard or Premium use the same wording but instead just interior view. Just for reference here's the official info for GT5 Prologue: http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt5p/

I didn't understand why they choose to make 200 perfect (premium) cars with backseats modeling, each button...and 800 standard cars without interior, instead of 600 or 1000 cars with only dashboard modeling for cockpit view...

I'm guessing.. since they're not premium....
There is no reason to believe that there will be different driving physics for any of the cars. The only differences we know of are the levels of detail in modeling, the amount of possible damage and the use of headlights (high and low beams for premium cars, only "standard lights" for standard cars).

Good point they made this very clear on the website i wish it was the same for the cockpit driving view.

it's funny cause they list the cockpit view as a key feature.. and then in the final game we'll have 800 cars without it. :grumpy:

Yeah some of the other additions to the Standard Cars that differentiates them from their GT4 counterparts seems to include:

1. Mechanical Damage
2. Updated driving physics
3. Scratches and dents
4. Headlights

I would like to see some videos where standard car's are mixed with premium car's!!!! Than we will se real diference:idea:... Until than no coment :mischievous:

I have emailed a native Japanese friend of mine the footnote on PD's website to translate into English for us. I will post it here as soon as he gets back to me.
