It'd certainly make sense, considering we already have two other late-90s/early-00s JGTC GT500 machines, what with the '97 Castrol TOM'S Supra and the Pennzoil GT-R.2000 Honda Castrol Mugen NSX
I'd expand this to all the SEMA winners, such as the HPA Motorsports R32, as well.2003 Buick Special.
I could see it going into Gr.3.
I think the 2000 Castrol Mugen NSX is very likely to return, because we have JGTC's 1997 champion (Castrol TOM'S Supra) and the 1999 champion (Pennzoil NISMO R34). Adding the 2000 champion (Castrol Mugen NSX) would satisfyingly complete the champions lineup while making up the trio of different models from the same era. It'd certainly make sense, considering we already have two other late-90s/early-00s JGTC GT500 machines, what with the '97 Castrol TOM'S Supra and the Pennzoil GT-R.
But GT7 is supposed to be getting rid of the "Group" classification system. That said the old Oreca Viper (Which I imagine is much more likely to come back only in Dodge form and not the Chrysler branded one) would fit pretty well into Group 3. Wouldn't be any more out of place than the short tail McLaren F1 GTR (Which is confirmed to come back; I'm sure the Longtail will too) or the Ford GT LM Spec II, even though that's not a real car.I could see it going into Gr.3.
The numbered racing car groups are not going away it seems - only road cars/Gr.X stuff are, afaik. But GT7 is supposed to be getting rid of the "Group" classification system. Also, while we're at it, I want this car back:
Long before the Red Bull X series, there was this thing.
We don't exactly know how it will be managed though. The older cars may not need to be placed into Group 3 to compete with the modern cars because the PP system is back. The numbered racing car groups are not going away it seems - only road cars/Gr.X stuff are, afaik.
And I'm grateful for the PP system returning. Too many cars went to waste because of the class system. We don't exactly know how it will be managed though. The older cars may not need to be placed into Group 3 to compete with the modern cars because the PP system is back.
Just reminds me of the GT4 Debut 😄If PD really wanted to, “provide an in-depth retrospect of the past 150 years of automotive history...”, then I think it’d be fair to have these two automotive godfathers represented in Brighton Antiques.

Like this? Not the right track, but you get the idea.Put some TE37s on those bad boys. Drop the suspension and do a time attack at the Nord.

As far as track cars go, as many as they can get away with. I'd love to see some older JGTC/JTCC/DTM/BTCC cars return.
When did that appear in a GT game? What? No Forester?
C’mon, C. You missed one of the greatest models in the franchise. When did that appear in a GT game?
Believe me, I was tempted, but I was "playing by the rules" so to speak. What? No Forester?
