Standard model / cockpit view ?

Hopefully they'll at least do it the way they did in GTPSP, where you could see the outside of the car along with the black cockpit.

why do people still use this standard cars thing? there are no standard cars jesus...
Because we're smart enough to realize that a change in semantics doesn't change the fact that they are PS2 era assets with a little lipstick and rouge on them. PD may prove that wrong, we'll have to wait and see, but I'm pretty sure if they were all near premium quality, they'd be singing that from the high heavens and flaunting them in trailers.

PS: And if you are trying to talk to Jesus, you can use the new @Jesus feature to do so...

Standard was the wrong term anyway since they were not exactly ''standard'' in GT5, more like sub-standard so I think now that they are supposedly being upgraded then ''standard'' is the right term for them.

All cars have same features and I reckon the texture quality is improved to premium level. So except 3d models and cockpit, same as new cars

* Will all of the cars have interior views?* Jordan asks.
No. Kaz answers, so I expect all the former standard modeled cars will have no Interior upgrades, but if they do, I don't see them being even close to Premium quality, and will probably look slightly better than the GT5 standards exterior wise. Maybe some Speedometer and tachometers added and a lighter dash background with a better detailed steering wheelbut im not overly excited about even the minimal changes to the "former standard models ".

I think that the GT6 equivalent to the standard cars in GT5 will still have the black interiors, but we should at least be able see the nose. That really bugged me in GT5, especially with the Japanese classic cars with the mirrors mounted to the fenders.

Well let's just say that there are no more "standards", but there will be cars of slightly lower quality. Interior wise, I don't mind the black mask, but like everyone else I would like it at an angle where I can see the hood. Exterior wise, I better not see any jagged black lines around the door seals. That is all!

The website suggests nothing of the sort. It just says "simplified cockpits" nothing more. Read into whatever you wish.
I guess I just didn't understand why it'd mention simplified cockpits unless we could actually see them. Perhaps I misunderstood it though.

Modelling a premium interior for over 1200 cars? Do you know how long that would take? To expect something like that you would also have to wait until 2017 for GT6.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome but come on now....

First, we don't have over 1200 cars yet. Last I checked there were 1196. And only ~800 are standards that need interiors.

Second, they set the bar for themselves with interiors.

Source needed. Would like to know the truth but not an estimation.

And you know I don't have one, because you know it's an estimation. How was that unclear? Providing an estimation does not require me to provide an accurate number. If I had an accurate number, I wouldn't have estimated.

I can walk you through the logic, if you can't do it yourself.

That's the worst case scenario, that every standard from GT5 is still a standard. We know that some have been upgraded and are listed as premiums, like the Cizeta. Probably that's all the standards that have gone to premium, but we could be surprised.

Hell, they could have made every standard into a premium, but I sort of doubt it.

So, the estimation is that they've made a few standards into premiums, but probably not as many as a hundred. Hence, ~800 standards remaining. If there's less remaining than that, then there's even less work to do to model interiors and @invetedevo argument is weakened accordingly.

Don't get me wrong, 800 cars is still a lot. 400 cars would still be a lot to make interiors for, but 1200 is overstating it.

Thanks for the replys guys , didn't mean to start an argument on them being standard or not I just didn't know what these models were being know as In gt6.

I only like to drive in cockpit view I didn't really like being forced to use a car that didn't have this view, hopefully in 6 even though these old ported over cars are still present we won't be forced to use them if we don't want to.

I do hope though that some interior improvements have been made to these ported over cars .

With adaptive tessellation in GT6, I think the standards are probably gonna look almost identical to the premiums from the outside. 👍

- "We won’t be making all the Standard cars from GT5 into Premium models," > some standards will be full premiums, not all.

- "and we won’t make all of the GT5′s Standard cars fully “Premiumized”. > some standards won't be FULLY premiumized. Now that's tricky: how can a car be "partially" premium? Only on the outside, perhaps?

- "In terms of graphics quality, the bad quality Standard models we’ve updated so they look better." > Another tricky one: in japanese does he mean that only bad quality standards were updated, while good looking ones are the same? But are there really good looking standards? Well, some are worse than others, but... Or does he mean that ALL standards (those "bad quality cars" = standards in the game) were upgraded?

- "Some cars won't have interior views". > No interior views at all (like GT-R Proto)? Or just that black interior?

All standards will look premium on the outside but will have standard cockpit views just like the Nissan Skyline Tokyo concept. Premium on the outside but standard on the inside.

Yes, lets just use the term PS2 models. If you think of it, last PS2 installment was GT4 in what was it 2005? So per definition 70% of car models that we are gonna get in GT6 date back almost a decade already...

That's all I'm worried about. I usually use the bumper cam when racing competitively; I can always admire the cockpits that were modeled offline.
